Its a SD38-2..... >.> Nice Catch on the Ex WC, i wish people would stop scraping engines, you could just re-power them all with gensets or something smart ;-;
BTW - the "greasy" sloppy re-marked numbers on CN-auctioned former locos are for transport only. They are legit for movement but not expected to remain.
Former WC2500 - rebuilt in 1999 to SD39-3 with Q-tron, I believe. Great hauler - pulled 40 car cuts alone at Neenah and Stevens Point. Glad I saw her working before Elmo's bean counters booted her from the roster.
That is former WC SD35 2500! It is heading for NRE at Silvis. I'm guessing it will be stored there, WC just rebuilt it in the 90s so hopefully it won't be scrapped.
Hmm, interesting. . .

NREX- Denotes National Railway Equipment-probably Silvis Illinois. Either Storage or salvage or rebuild. Looks like a potential IAIS Gunner.

Nice catch man. Very unique power, and a rare site. Love the sound of the wheels when they cross the diamond.
