R1 vs Hayabusa

I actually own a hayabusa. No stock hayabusa is going to go 220 mph without mods. And the 2001+ are governed at 186 mph (along with every other stock bike do to the gentlemens agreement). To those that say a busa doesn't go around curves...you've never been on one, they take a little more steering effort. Hell I even like the R1 and the R6, but to be quite honest on a technical course with sharp curves and an experienced rider on a 250 most people would be way behind the 250.

However I don't really see the point of busa's top speed. Because I live in Slovenia and we don't have many long straight roads, but we have a lot of long fun corners so to me even 600 cc bikes are enough. I always choose fun over speed.

Its well known the busa has about 50 km/h more speed than a Blackbird ever had. In saying that the Blackbird is a classic bike my friend owns one and is finished in typical Honda quality. But from speed point of view is no match for the busa at any revs or gear (in standard unmodified form of course). Long live the Busa!

@AvecBass01 Fair comment, the R-1 is a real hoon bike and great for wheelies, perhaps if I was lot younger I would also love them. I had my day with bikes like that. These days however I find my Busa to do everything any other bike can do and more. I love its versatilty and outright speed. The R-1 really is a different bike and around a track would be of course the bike to own, however on the road, the busa will leave it for dead in most situations.
