  • I saw this film for the first time in high school and it sent a shiver down my spin as I turned to the window and actaull saw one or two crows.

Does anyone else think that the teacher has a very large backside?

  • Me and my friend did a similar to this scene in real life to see what the birds will do. We went to a park, there were about 10-15 crows on the tree. We started throwing stones at them, but they dident do anything. I cant understand this film.

  • The scene where she's sitting on the bench and you can see them gathering behind her....totally frightening.

  • Please sign my petition to stop Universal Pictures from remaking The Birds! The link is on my profile. Thank you!

  • one of the best horrors of all time, scared the shit out of me as a kid!

  • me to, i watched it when i was bout 5 or 6, and im 17 now and i still love it, but....THERE REMAKING IT

  • now that would just piss me off, if a bunch of killer birds just waited for you to leave a place and then attack you out of no where

i liked the movie though! what a classic!

  • nahh man!

Remakes of old horrors are bad!!

  • they ARE remaking it

  • THEY ARE????????????????????

Please, tell me who they are so that I can kill them.

I think it's a mistake to remake ANY classic film cause you're never gonna beat the original, specially if the original was directed by Alfred Hitchcock.

  • I laughed uncontrollably during all the bird attack scenes while my mom sat there terrified :L Ahhh i love this film =D

  • they should have just stayed in the classroom running was a dumb idea.

  • lol, some of the kids looked like they were smiling and running, seriously. look at some of them closely.

Anyway, scary. I watched it for the first time, I wa sso paranoid that one of them would have come in through my window and attack me. :D

  • I'll keep looking over my shoulder at the bus stop or in town etc now!!!!! These things proper affect me!! :'{

Agh the guy with the pecked out eyeballs....agh!

  • I think this scene is scarier and more intense than the shower scene in Psycho. Go ahead and thumb me down.

  • Well It was made in 1963 !!

  • The song is called 'Risselty Roselty'

  • How long are the kids gonna sing? No wonder the birds got so pissed off...

  • haha lol

  • WOULDNT IT BE SO BAD TIF THEY ALL POO'D =D.

Sorry im not being disrespectful, this film made me have a fear of birds.. i hate them.. and tis my way of stopping from crying =D!

    xx

  • I promiss never to harass crows from now on.

  • hahaha

  • those are birds

  • deary me..

  • Why they evacuate the school? Wasn't it safer to stay inside?

And when they did, why are they running? It is obvious that the stomping is making the birds crazy! They should quietly walk away.

Anyway, the first 2 min 25 secs of this clip are absolute cinematic masterpiece.

  • hahahhahahaha

  • one of the best scenes!

  • Hi everybody ,

Does somebody know the name of this song please ?

Because i'm searching in the french net and i don't find it :(

  • No wonder why the birds attacked them, they where singing that song like 100 times!

  • WOOOOW she have bad hair style

  • jesus, id had to be in that class and hav to sing that bloody song lol. but i like this movie, i dont really like horros and never watch them but this one was kl

  • run kids, run!

  • That's freaking SCARY!

  • come on... do you also think small rabbits are scary?

  • BIRDS!

  • classic..but why did they leave the classroom in the first place?

  • Dan Fawcett was killed in his bedroom when birds crashed through the windows. And to quote Lydia "They have such big windows at the school." Rather than wait for the crows to go through the window, Annie and Melanie decided to get them to safety.

  • run away kiddies

  • i wanna smoke with her!

  • I blame this movie for my bird phobia. I think they're out to get me. Freaks me out. They stare at me and yeah.

  • Should have left her to die, deserves it with a winey voice like that!!! Dick face!

  • what a shite film, why didnt they just buy a shotgun and blow the bastards brains out.fuckin flyin rats. and the stupid blind bitch falling and holding everyone up. what a selfish shite.

  • Cant blame the birds, that singing would send anyone crazy. Thats just there way of sayin the the F**k up!

  • My glasses!!!!! hahahaha

  • They prob did that town a favour, took out the ugly kids.

  • coolest steering wheel.

  • old horrormovies are the best. :)

  • does anyone know what the song the kids are singing is called?

  • it's called Risseldy, Rosseldy here are some of the lyrics: Wee Sing - Risseldy, Rosseldy Lyrics "Risseldy, Rosseldy" I married my wife in the month of June, Risseldy, rosseldy, mow, mow, mow, I carried her off in a silver spoon, Chorus: Risseldy, rosseldy, hey bambassity, Nickety, nackety, retrecal quality, Willowby, wallowy, mow, mow, mow. She combed her hair but once a year, Risseldy, rosseldy, mow, mow, mow. With every rake she shed a tear,
  • i think it might have something to do with the love birds Melanie brought. Because near the ending part when they are home trying to be safe, right after the love birds sang, the big birds started to attack. I dont know. it's a feeling I have.

  • in australia we've got a place like that called birdsville. small population though, not real popular with tourists nor the local for that matter. best not to park your car under a tree in birdsville

  • shit thats alot of pissed off birds

  • I remeber this is the movie that I watched on my first Transpacific flight to the USA. :)

  • back then smoking was still sexy hahaha.

  • what? you mean smoking not sexy anymore, daymn when that happen? Lol xoxo agree, smoking stinks.

  • The song at the start sets the tone brilliantly.

All they need is a few cats...slaughter-fest ftw ^^

  • why would you leave the school?

  • i know??? so dumb

  • because their stupid

  • hitchcock is a genius. how da hell u get birds to organize like dat?? he really knows how 2 fuck wit your head. that, to me , is very intelligent filmmaking.

  • this is hilarious, but i have a friend that says birds are gonna take over the world some day,i'm starting to agree with her, i think they might. we underestimate their inteligence, but they're very smart, insightful creatures.just look at the way they navigate.they have little ions on their brains that receive electromagnetic signals.what other animal have u heard of that has that kick ass ability? birds are fuckin evil, man

  • The special effects may have aged, but the psychology behind them certainly hasn't.

  • im sorry. i find this funny.

up to the point of the kids bleeding, i stopped laughing.

  • I love when in serious/scary scenes there are funny songs in the backgroud

  • that scene is chilling how the birds simply sit there looking evil...hitchcok did real good with this

  • DrGregoryHouseIt, being stabbed like that would flood the shower with blood, it's a small porportion, again, the close up on the attacker, the struggling of the victim blocking the knife, the gestures of her hands, if you saw the shower filled with blood as it would be, it would be nothing but a saw movie.

  • If youre talking about the shower scene in 'Psycho' the so called blood in that scene is actually chocolate sauce

  • wtf is the song they are singing?

  • Nickety nackety noo noo noo

  • Lol those birds!

I watched this, scary you can say.

  • That song is geeting anoying

  • i read this story 2 years ago in 9th grade

  • ah maybe stay inside next time

  • well then you're a bad student. and you spelled english wrong

  • I'd always wondered how some of my friends could be afraid of birds after seeing one stupid movie as a kid, since I find them so cute and gentle, when they're not protecting their young. Anyway, @ about 2:04, I was getting nervous with her, wondering how long that damn song could go on. Three seconds later, I was exhaling, "Hooooly shit!" at the number of birds on the jungle gym. And had to stop it. :P Going to watch it through now.

  • This scene is so perfectly set up, with the children's song repetition underscoring the arrival of each bird, until there are too many of them for Melanie to ignore. It's genius.

  • I am watching the video in gen. music but we didn't finish it and we are only watching the parts when the birds attack! it is so kool

  • Loved and would always be Loved.

Rest in peace Miss Suzanne Pleshette.

  • what would be worse?, 10,000 birds attacking you with their beaks, or 10,000 birds attacking with bombs from their backside....LOL

  • What could be worse? 30 kids singing rickelty rafflety over and over and over.

  • Proberly this is why they attacked...LOL

  • I'm an aviary breeder, and i'm currently trying to train all my cockatiels to do this, so that i can take over the world, that's it my little prettys, kill them, kill them all.... muhahahhahahh!

  • okay i got 2 questions, please reply

1.) At around what time do you hear the duck?

2.) Why do the birds attack?

  • i'll answer 2. the birds attack for no reason. Its just 'horror of armageddon' ie the fear of the end of the world, or nature taking its revenge against mankind. It could have been rabbits or ants, as many other movies during that era used, but Hitchcock used birds instead, and this movie is also praised as being the most seminal in this horror of armageddon genre.

  • I'm HORRRIFIEED!!!! She's smoking a CIGARETTE!!!! Maybe the birds were militant anti-smokers...

  • I really think this movie traumatized me. I saw it when I was little and I'm 21 now but to this day, if a bird flies to close I scream and I always think they're staring and out to get me.

  • This is probably why new scary movies have children singing old nursery rhymes in them. IT'S SO CREEPY!! D:

  • Oh! I forgot to mention, but I think that those two love birds that Melanie got for the Little Girl- I think they were a clue or at least had something to do with the attack, cause they were the only ones that didnt attack. My point is to keep an eye on those two loves birds, they looked suspicious!

  • Aw I loved this movie, saw it tonight, on some classic movies station =/ It was really good! but of course I had to leave at the part when Melanie gets attacked in the bedroom! >:( I was told the ending, I still want to know what made the birds attack >:( But Very Nice movie anyway. And I loved this scene lol!

  • Kickety Knockety now now now!

  • "CATHY!!!! CATHY!!!" <_<

  • those people are running like.... 50 MPH.

  • O_O ahhh...pensar que despues de verla (muy buena! por cierto) los pajaros me daban terror!

esta pelicula necesita estar en mi coleccion de dvds, definitivamente.

  • okay i got 2 questions, please reply

1.) At around what time do you hear the duck?

2.) Why do the birds attack?

  • I'm not sure about the duck, but the whole point of the movie is that you don't know why the birds attack. It's implied that the girl whose name is Melanie Daniels in the movie, is the cause of all the madness. And...is it just me or is the songs that the class is singing really weird? Lol.

  • This movie was around when my dad was teen back in 1966. But this movie was great. The crows were scary as hell, I anit even going lie.

  • haaaaaaa the songss klass :P woop woop :D

  • brutal

  • QUAK!

  • After I saw this film... Whenever I was outside and if a lot of birds were around... I would race inside and not come out! I got scared soooo badly!

  • yep i heard the duck

  • freaky

  • i remember watching and reading this in english class :3

  • me too. Back then schools were right down the street.

  • gosh when we were watching this in school i couldnt stop laughing xD

  • i swear i heard a duck in that flock of birds....

  • haha i heard it too!

  • Haha its weird eh!

  • One word: Awesome.

  • lol

  • the only kind of horror i like is stephen king but this is kool

  • yeah, i mean look at "freddy vs jason", it's nothing but funny and stupid...

  • lol the birds make funny noises

  • you know that commercial when the ice cream truck drives by and the fat kids cant catch up to it? instead they should say:this is what can happen when you dont get excercise

  • Suzanne Pleshette RIP.

  • This is still my favorite Hitchcock scene of all time! Perfect!

  • I'm only sixteen, but i understand what your talking about, most horrors I've rented lately aren't scary, just gross and painful looking.

  • So true about most of todays horror movies. Most anything by Hitchcock is outstanding suspense. I'd also recommend "The Changeling" with George C. Scott, "The Sentinel" from 1977and Brian DePalmas "Dressed to Kill." Not quite Hitchcock but suspenseful, scary and not too overdone.

  • I think I've heard some of them, I'll look around for copies of them, lately they've been selling alot of old movies in supermarkets so might be able to buy a dvd, instead of having to rent the movies. =D

  • Scenes from all 3 movies are posted on youtube. Check out The Changeling-Joseph for a great seance scene from that movie. This is a fantastic ghost story with a tremendous and intriguing plot line.
