Aw man this should have been a TV series. I laughed when Philbert nearly tricked Griff into calling Angela a witch and Griff catches himself and responds 'Now cut that out'. They really do act like brothers.
"Billboard" {:59}- "'PHILBERT'...brought to you by.....a major advertiser who, upon seeing this pilot episode, backed out of his end of the deal! Too bad...".
It is a shame this never really picked up. The synopsis of this pilot did have potentional. In fact, everything from the music to the acting looked and felt really good. Plus, the laughtrack didn't sound so "forced" like in some comedies.
Again, t'was a shame it never made it as a series, though it does have a few relations to another Live-Action/Animation show known as "Dog City".
This is actually really funny, and the idea of the whole pilot is a nice incentive for me to finally go get some of the Golden Collections. A shame it never got picked up; there's a lot of untapped potential in some TV pilots.

Around this time, Freleng and producer David DePatie created the DePatie-Freleng studio
which would do Pink Panther cartoons; various
cartoon and theatrical cartoons, TV series intros, ads, etc.
