Also I doubt that the movie has been seen in China, in the Middle Asia or India. I even doubt that Hamburger Hill was shown in Eastern Europe.

No one has conquered Afghanistan, to conquere is to subdue the country in control. Like historians say, the easy part is invading Afghanistan, the part that has historically be proven hard is controlling and conquering Afghanistan. Gengis Khan fled, his decendants converted to Islam, Afghans and Persians have historically been one empire until the latter when the Shia-Sunni division was introduced. This is the longest war in U.S. history my friend.

Also I doubt that the movie has been seen in China, in the Middle Asia or India. I even doubt that Hamburger Hill was shown in Eastern Europe.

He points out that Sardar was directed to build a fort at Jamrud situated at the entrance of Khber pass from the walls of which Maharaja might glance Jalalabad in Afghanistan. Sardar got built a small port which was quite impregnable to the artillery fire and could hold on for several weeks .

The Soviet Union seeked new allies and at best the expansion of communism, not a confrontation with the US, helping communist governments around the world was one way of achieving this. US didnt fund Afghans, US funded Islamic extremists who opposed and fought the established communist government, which was a big mistake in my opinion, a mistake which costed the US thousands of lives and its not over yet.

In the Soviet Union, the official reason was to support the Communist party of Afganistan, and to liberate it from encroaching Imperialist nations who would exploit it. Frankly, I think the Soviet union had no good reason to invade, much like the Vietnam War!
