Tekken 4 was fucking awesome. I too fell in love with this Tekken. It was my first. And The music is undoubtedly the best in the series. I need to collect all of the Tekkens. I agree with RP on the point that the engine should be more realistic like T4, but I think the one they have now is fine. What they need to do is cut out some of the ragdoll shit.

I've all the Tekkens except DR and 6 but the direction Namco is taking kinda saddens me. Tekken 5 stages were . . . unimaginative (except Moonlit Wilderness). Tekken 4 had a small mob stage (Fight club) and a huge mall and you could break stuff and hit people <@_@) It seemed like a more mature Tekken where people don't go flying madly when they're hit (example, Heihachi's iron fist in Tekken 5). The jazzy style of the intro was very cool too.

i agree with that tekken 4 felt more like relaxing and even the game play went with the themes and stages and the game just looked more real whereas t5 and t6 seem somewhat more cartoony and they should look back at tekken 4 give tekken 6 tekken 4's engine and just speed it up a little and take out the franticness liek you said (people flying about madly)

im not sure about tekken 4. i hate it for not having a jack robot and the old favs (like wang, anna and mokujin even though he's replaced by combot who isnt better) but i like it because of the music, its the first one i played, always reminds me of my old house (cuz i played it at my old house), feels like something is going to be unlocked and lots of other reasons

The reason behind the bad reviews were mainly due to the lack of depth and mechanics sucked compared to the previous Tekkens. I personally like Tekken 4 but it wasn't as good as 3 or Tag.
