  • He has excellent technical proficiency, though if I would criticize him, it would be for the fact that he seems to lack more creative ideas...he would do well by using other styles other than those runs all the time.

  • Impressive, really but music is a language. The speech doesn't have to be always loud. However. Good job

  • This is amazing!

  • don't play forte all the time, excellent play

  • yess great solo!

  • I really can't believe that 10% of the people who watched and LISTENED to this gave it a thumbs down. If something is even _okay_ it deserves a thumbs up... This is superb stuff!

    Come on people.

  • wowwww!!!

  • Incredible!

  • A legnagyobb zongorista an der Welt:)

  • Nothing special here, terrible sense of timing.

  • dude holy man for real send these tapes into chick corea or some one man your insane

  • this is unexplainable..its so good and i dk what it is i havent heard it until now..so if he made it its brilliant. i play guitar so i actually listened to the music and watched the finger movement and compared and its pretty precise. that shit takes talent

  • kimondottan jó, piszok gyorsan kavarsz.. de piccivel több szünetekett hagynék az elején

  • Csak nem egy magyar cigánnyal hozott össze itt a sors? :)

  • He is a very strong, agile, exciting pianist.

However, as pianist, or whatever instrument we play, when we do the head in the exposition, and whenever strict linear expositions are played, we are all required by common practice, to play them technically correctly, and this means rhythm and notes, and harmony. Unless we say we are doing a 4/4 samba as a jazz waltz, we need to tow the line. He does not. Sorry. It takes a bit of listening skill to recognize this, and many of you lack that.

  • My Gosh! Have You Not Heard Of Jazz!

  • That Comment Was For "burbank57"

  • @burbank57

to me it did not sound right for whatever reason, great playing, but it just did not sound right.

  • @burbank57 OK, lets just programe a computer to play this then....boring..This is an amazing rendition of Spain, from whatever view point you want to take on it. Objectivly, it may not tick all the boxs, but i can say, subjectivly, its up there with the best i have seen. maybe it is rough around the edges, but thats what makes it unique....when something is too polished...it looses something, especially this genre!!! maybe for a chopin piece thats expected...but not spain!!

  • @burbank57 Spot on. Your remark reminds me of Bill Evans comment to his brother (Universal Mind of Bill Evans) that students today don't want to learn theory. They just want to play. You're absolutely right that Jazz is a knowledge based activity that requires a lot of discipline and yes, musical talent. It's good to hear/see remarks like this because this player really muffs the head, especially the part with the two hands played in unison. I have to go practice.....

  • adj ennuyeux

  • It is a wish of mine to be just half as good as you. Who is Chick Corea compared to this? Alroiye, maybe you didn't like the acoustics, but if it's so annoying, why would you have searched it and watched the whole thing and taken the time out of your day to leave a comment for an "annoying" video? Gyuri, even Oscar Peterson couldn't have done it better himself. Thanks for posting.

  • I totally agree. Alroiye is such a dick head. Its so disrespectful!

  • well i couldn't unfairly call it annoying (in my opinion) without listening to it.

  • I would say that 0:00-514 is amazing, but from around 3:25 to about 3:38 and me ROTFL at those awesome skills...nice work dude!

  • i actually found it very annoying.

  • really? what was annoying about it for you? I, along with the majority thought it was great!

  • 1:15-1:16 -1:20 can someone describe the chords note by note plz.

  • I bet Chick himself wouldn't mind getting a few of those runs down! Excellent stuff!!

  • Gratulálok a témához és a tempohoz;)

  • The first 90 seconds of this at least is Rodrigo's 2nd movement to the Concerto Aranjuez themes

  • Damn!! That's amazing playing!! I love it!! You studied it obviously, did you??

  • Wonderful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • jazz giant !!

  • wots the name of this tune???does any one knows the proper spelling for a great spanish piano player called fillipi compethano????thanx

  • its spain lol

  • Felipe Campuzano

  • thanks alot do you know felipe????where can i find his stuff???i heard his old stuff at my dads piano collection but i cant find him in stores????

  • This guy is from Spain? Does he tour in the U.S.?

(I'm just joking, I know the name of the tune is Spain. But how come I've never heard of this guy??)

  • This guy is my father, you don´t heard about him cousehe is not famous...he don´t have cd nothing he is just playing for his self..

  • Please tell your father that he is a brilliant player! Thanks for posting this and sharing his talent!

  • This is crazy. He is brilliant. He needs more exposure!!

  • Oh man... I know a guy... If you were in the states I could hook you up. Can he read music?

  • pllllease tell your father to give concerts.. i mean.. he got the talent to be a big one!

  • @centauron Ok tu papa toca muy bien dices que no tiene cd is he piano teacher or is this just a hobby? man I like that

  • I've never understood why some people don't see music as it is and understand that ALL music, in order to be performed well, requires soul, whether classical or jazz. I don't think you could find a historian out there who would argue that a Franz Liszt, Oscar Levant or Arthur Rubinstein lacked the soul for what they were doing. This gentleman is a force to be reckoned with and I am going to lobby for him to be featured at our local jazz festival. CHEERS!!!

  • Yeah , he's fantastic !

Hope you get him to your festival.

  • not saying this is bad. just he must get the breakdown right. and the intro needs to sound all minor. some stuff, no matter how it is interpreted. needs to be the same. if it is not. than it might as well be a different piece. still great playing which is without a shadow of a doubt.

  • you guys are nuts this guy is one of the top 10 jazz pianists EVER bar none. There are guys on here that have played for 50 years and think this guy is almost comparable to an Oscar Peterson. If you don't see his incredible talent you are deaf and blind. Let's see you play!

  • Y A W N

  • elaborate please

  • Amazing piano player... where?

  • in the video above

  • best i ever seen!!

  • o.m.g.

    amazing!

  • great technique

  • for the record, i've been talking about the stuff at 1:42 . It's just wrong and it's not better. It's the ONLY thing he changes.

  • I have to agree - he is doing a lot of fast and impressive licks but he doesn't know the tune. It is his own thing, and it's fun and sounds good but I wouldn't play that as a performance of Spain.

  • haha thank you, it's nice to have another critical mind on here and not somebody that just bends over backwards for somebody proficient at jazz. Nobody's perfect!

  • and why would he change that section if he plays the rest of the tune as is? It's simply a lack of knowledge of the tune... It doesn't even sound good.

  • Honestly, do you really think he lacks knowledge of the tune? Get real. You may disagree with his interpretation (and yes, that's what it is). If so, fine. But you are a ditz if you think he could interpret an entire tune, improv over it and still be interesting while not knowing the rhythm.

  • yes, i would be willing to say that he lacks knowledge of the tune. There's no good justification of playing that segment the way he does. It's not more interesting in any way, shape or form. And i'm anything but a ditz with this music.

  • You have SO much of the melody wrong. Not meant to be a diss... but this is such a popular tune and you've got all those "breakdown" sections wrong RHYTHMICALLY and MELODICALLY.

  • do you not realise he has not tried to copy the song and play it back, a tape recorder can do that, he has interpreted the song and played it back in his own style/way. much much much x 1,000, harder than just copying a tune, you can do that using your ear, or even reading the sheet music..this, this is another level...Arguably, Gyuri does not seem to swing any of his music, but i guess thats just his style, i'm sure he has the skill to do almost anything he pleases on the piano...

  • it's not a matter of interpretation... the that rhythm is more significant than the melody or the chord changes to that tune. I don't care if Gyuri swings or not, this music doesn't swing anyway. You clearly don't know what I'm talking about and this isn't another level... interpretation of tunes is fundamental in jazz, but some things are NOT meant to be changed... that passage at the top of the form (after the intro) is cannon. Even if you change the pitches the rhythm must remain. Period.

  • there are no rules which state; certain aspects are required to remain constant, its totally subjective if one decides to change the music in any way, music can also be abstract too, unless the aim was to copy a song note for note. Which he has clearly not set to do. If this was not titled Spain, i'm sure anyone with half a brain that has heard the tune would recognise it. (the part about swing did not apply only to this tune - i was trying to suggest how his style is different and not copy-cat

  • Learn attentively original theme of Spain, please

  • i am a guitarist...

but the piano is the king of instruments...

    that was GREAT!!!!!!

  • Nice..

I suggest you upload the same in 'Dynamycdesi'.It is a online talent contest site for people and gives an award to the Best Talent.

  • i'm sorry, this really does just take the piss. its perfect!

  • i would happily part with my money to have all your music on one CD. Please make this happen!!!

  • i think i'll have to accept defeat and admit this guy is technically as good as oscar peterson; i've been saying for months why he isnt but the more i watch him the more impressed i am with his talent

  • someone needs to give this guy a recording contract...a gig....something. this is talent going unnoticed..unappreciated..

  • Villas Gyuri? Nincs közöd véletlenül magyarországhoz?

  • There was more than one time, when i thought he was about to start singing "I will survive". lol

  • it does sound like he was just gonna get up and start sayin "I will survive hey hey" lol

  • 2:45 and a few more bars after is very clever... the left hand plays the melody, most pianist would cross over their hands to do this but he doesnt... he plays the melody with the left while playing a sycnopated chord pattern with the right... very impressive

  • Oh yeah! lool

That would mess me up if I tried that.

    This guy is technically amazing

  • amazing

  • the theme is the second part of el concierto de aranjuez for guitar and orquestra, but i dont like at all the version

  • haha

  • Bravo Arkan!

  • Good playing, not a fan of the tune tho.

  • This is absolutely incredible, but I'm not a fan of his interpretation of the head.

  • The chicken head?

  • This guy plays with ingenuity, advance dexterity, and captivating coordination. Now my question to the Youtube world is, how come artist like this do not get all the prestige and glory as oppose to someone like Kanye West who is always crying about something every five minutes? These Hip-Hop producers do not come close to the type of magnitude in musical artistry this guy exemplifies in his performance! And this is just one example of what I'm trying to convey.

  • Word to your mother, Reesecubop1. Often to listen to--and enjoy--this music, you need to have a good, authentic heart. Rare in the world.

Anyhoo, that m****fucking chicken can play some fuck*** piano, huh?

  • LOL! You're right dude!

  • Yay!

  • Couldn't agree more. Very well said.

  • Joaquin Rodrigo.

  • Tone 10/10

    Playing 10/10

    Super.

  • wow he is playing pieaces from "spain" , a good album by Tomatito and Camilio (?? i forgot his name, but something like that).

  • Nagyon komoly rázás világszinvonal.

Gratulálok! "bár a témát tényleg metanulhatná tiszelsségel"....

    ÖSTEHETSÉG!!!!!

  • i like this song :D

mmm i wanna learn it. wat is it exactly called so i can find it?

  • it is called "Autumn leaves"

  • the song calles "Spain" not autumn leaves

  • @centauron right, Spain by Chick Corea

  • I was so excited about your voiceing, chord progression, inventiveness, rythm and then you blew it. The stop gap was nothing like the original, it didn't fit.

  • This guy is amazing...

  • I thought it sounded like John William's Catavina from The Deer Hunter at the beginning, just with more in it.

  • Hi There ,

I think the first part of this piece is Rodriguez ( probably mispelled by me ) guitar concerto - might be worth checking out :-)

  • that's real ?

i hope to playing like him >>>

who is this >> pls come to Qatar >>

  • haha that looks like a really fun piece to play. i wanna learn it now... =/ anyon know what this is calleD?

  • hahaha idiot, its called spain. lol

  • whoa, calm down, I just didn't know...

  • Kiváló pianista... de a témát megtanulhatná tisztességesen! Slendrián. Szegény Chorea....

  • :oOoOOooOOoo.. xD

  • sounds like Oscar Peterson's (RIP) style, bravo !

  • I agree !

    Very much like Oscar.

    Sad Oscar's passed away , I don't think we'll ever replace him - RIP Oscar !

  • why the hell do people think its fake thats so stupid.

  • he is very good... kinda reminds me of Anthony Burger when he does the fast runs but it was amazing!

  • Nice :)

  • Wow, Bravo! Very nice style!

Constructive Criticsm: If your fast runs were a bit lighter/quieter, it would be more effective (to my ears, anyway), but great job nonetheless.

  • Yeah , I agree !

Very Oscar Peterson in his style isn't he ?

RIP Oscar - you were a one off :-)

  • Strange that it's transposed.

  • sounds sort of like Concerto De Aranjuez?

  • based on it i believe.

  • very good Gyurii really like your style, think all pianoplayers should have their style, but no copy others. thats why i like u. check my videos to see one guy playing only with 3 fingers lol its really good tho.

PS:i have a question: is your first instrument accordeon :P?? your techniquq is... kinda looks like accordeon player's one.

  • U dumb bitch it can't be fake because u can see tha strings moving from tha top of the piano!!!

  • What a badass!!!

  • he makes it look so easy

  • i want lessons from this man

  • Dude...he is amazing! Wow! Great chops! Outside of Chick I don't think I heard a better version than this one.

  • @ 2:38 it gets real good

  • Awesome chord progressions

  • that maybe but he can play the piano amazingly

  • yes I know he can play the piano really good but his face looks like a chicken lol. no offense...

  • History's best pianists tend to be chicken-faced.

  • Yes, I've noticed that.

  • best chicken at piano in the wold then lol

  • Oh mama.....his fingers are juiced up with nitrous oxide, so they are.

  • Yeah!

    I liked that!

  • yea......jux bittie laggie

  • new meaning to tickling the ivory!!!

  • osutmuş

  • hahaha this guy shreds! this song is fresh.

  • woooooooooow this man is the best pianist all over the world and pualnorman7 you have to check a doctor because your dont have mind

  • look up david sides

  • You're kidding right?

It might be at least tolerable if he got the notes correct on Chick's head but....

  • világi roma csávo vagy gratulállok

  • pretty good, but not excelent. Too many mistakes in one song. His right hand technique has some repetitive flaws.

  • CraigKeyboardMaster...you talk a bunch of crap. You're obviously some arrogant twat who'se beginning to learn a bit about piano and harmonies, and now thinks you have the authority to tell others - who I would say know more than you - that they're wrong. Go away you pathetic little person.

  • oh yeh, thought u guys might find this interesting, the guy playing the piano is the father of the person that posted this video. Basically, this guy plays at a resturant in Germany. If i ever go to germany, i am going to look this guy up and go see him play. I played Spain in a BigBand i was in a few years ago, love this version so much, it is just as injoyable as a whole band performance, alot due to the separation he achives between bass and melody....so bloody damn good!

  • you got that right - this Guyri is an exceptional jazz pianist - if he had some good exposure, he would get "discovered" and become a first class main stream jazz pianist. Great chords and improvisation.

  • This diserves over a million views unlike some of the crap on here that gets so much viewing. Awsome skills! maybe one day.....

  • Agreed !

  • bang on

  • OMG I just saw your fingers dislocate!! How did you do that? :P, thanks for upload, this man good

  • nice piano work

would be nice with full band

  • at 00:13 -- that's a mistake.. he didn't do that on purpose. when you play at that speed, it's easy to hit a wrong key (or two together) now and then. Professional? he's professional - check with his son. He's an amazing jazz pianist -- and I've been both playing and listening to jazz piano for over fifty years, so I can speak with some degree of authority.. he's VERY unusual.

  • awesome version of Spain he reminds me of Michel Camilo

  • amazing playing!

  • I'm simply blown away

  • not that gd.

  • yeah like you play than he does :-/

He is a very good artist, definitly at a professional level

  • He is not. I am definitely not better of course, but he is not at a professional level, as he made several mistakes throughout, including hitting the wrong notes, and in some places he should have used sustain, but didn't.

  • how can u heard he hits the wrong note?? his impro is like all voicing stuff. if u know something please tell me which note is wrong?? is it doesnt fits the chord? or the voicing? and the sustain?? in that fast tempo with all voicing, if u use pedal, it sounds like shit..... trust me~~~~

  • BTW, he changed the key

  • i do play piano grade 8 !!! plus i'm 11! u think u can do that piece of shit.

  • lol you listen to Avril Lavigne and you say that this is not that good ?

  • grade doesnt mean anything, it just mean u spend time to pass a exam, not u can play man.......hehe, don't believe me?? try me.

  • okay let's try u lol. But ur choices of words have some truth in it. grade don't really not mean anything and although u say spend time u have to practise day and night 24/7.

  • I looked your video, ur music is so shity, no taste at all~~~~~~~~~~

  • Fuck off you pathetic cunt. I know that he pressed several wrong notes because he did. Several notes were out of time, and there were quite a few notes that do not fit with the other notes at all. I did not say he was bad in any way. I said he is not a professional. Listen closely, you should hear what I mean.

  • yeah>?? ok, take a look at this and tell me which note is rite, which note is wrong. if u are good at it. his performance is fully free improvised, so there is nothing wrong about it. think like this, wut's the structure about full extention of "C" Chord? how many key can you improvised based on C???? toooooooo many.......

  • 25049596, learn to spell. He might have improvised it, but there are still keys that do NOT go with each other. For example, if you are going to play Eye of The Tiger, you are supposed to play the intro with D# and C. You wouldn't change it to D# and D, as it clashes and doesn't sound as smooth. He done something similar several times here, and it clashes. Listen again, you should hear it.

  • it's not clashes, it's dissonance, and that's the attractive part

  • at 00:13. Listen. The keys do NOT go well with each other and are NOT attractive. If you like them, fine. Like them all you want. But a proper professional player would not play keys like that. He is still an excellent piano player, but in my opinion, he is not professional.

  • wut's your definition for a professional piano player??

  • craigkeyboardmaster... what the hell you talking about... eye of the tiger??? are you having a laugh..??? this man's a jazz pianist not some cheap pop 80's synthesizer playing casio robot... like you... also, if you transpose from one key to another it wont clash at all, only if it clashes in the original key... go back to your piano lessons

  • Excuse me twat, you clearly are intelligent. It clashes. In some songs it doesn't, I admit. But that is hardly any. And in this song, it does clash.

Oh, and another thing. If you have any idea at all about music, and keyboards, you would not have called my keyboard a "cheap pop 80's synthesizer", and I will never touch a casio keyboard. I would have to commit suicide first.
