  • (Insane screams_

  • Maintivity I thought the guy with the sunglasses looked more like Denis Leary.

  • I heard this was nightmare fuel from TV Tropes. I'm not from Canada, but if I were a kid who grew up there, this ad would've terrified the heck out of me.

  • If you took the drugs, would he sing "Walk on the Wild Side" to you?

  • GRAB THE JOINT AND RUN CHILDREN!

  • Uh.. what's up with the eyes?

  • Is it a bad sign that whoever made this "anti-drug" commercial was clearly on something at the time?

  • So John Lennon is still alive, doing drugs and selling them in alleys?

Damn guess John really wanted out of the Beatles.

  • scary commercial lol.

  • It's like I'm already on drugs.

it used to air on YTV all the time

  • AHHHHHHHHH

  • Next time I see a demonic Stiv Bators who wants to sell me drugs, I'll run away.

  • I love how the one kid has never had the idea posited to him before. God, kid, don't you watch movies?

  • I love the one fucking pill stuck to the end of the dealer's finger.

  • How did that guy managed to get out of his house and seek that safetly proper place to sell drugs? How did those little bastards of hell managed to unpaste those drugs from his hands? And, why, oh, god why, did you allow the "Concerned Children´s Advertisers" (????) to commit the must ungraceful and nefarious irony on the history of children ads???

  • So drug dealers have no eyes?

  • That little dude looks like a dealer.

  • This commercial used to freak me out, "The choice is yours" haha now it's funny.

  • Comment removed

  • Yeah that drug dealer looked better than those scary looking kids.

And why the hell are they out so late in the ghetto part of town by themselves in the 1st place? Where the hell are their ugly puppet parents?

  • I knew it! Canadians are puppets!

  • Keeanu Reeve? Watchu doin in this alley?

  • I'll eat the drugs

  • Why is the drug dealer lou reed?

  • The 90s were a bad time for him.

  • @CoconutBuyer I thought he looked more like Albert Wesker, but yeah, Lou Reed works, too.

  • JIMI!

  • damn....I wish human drug dealers really gave out free samples like that.....Id make a killing

  • This is probably what happens AFTER you take drugs. You can tell by the size of those kids' massive lips.

  • At first I thought WTF?! but the ending was pretty cool.

  • NO ZOMBIE KEVIN BACON NOOOOOO!

  • why are these kids in a dark alley, i think they are up to something

  • That guy is blind.

  • this commercial rocks

  • this one gave me a nightmare i still remember to this day

  • ugly puppets

  • RICK OCASEK RUINS LIVES

  • augh i remember seeing that when i was a kid, it gave me nighmares xD

especially when it goes all quiet when he says "a message from concerned childrens advertisers" and youre just sitting there thinking "holy fuck"

  • As if they didn't see him standing behind them at the beginning when they look at him lol

  • isnt weed legal there?

  • so if the kids don't reconize the celebs that flashed by and why they're there, than whats the point? cuz when I was very very little I wouldn't have known any of them.

  • Haha, at 0:19 you see Jim Morrison's mugshot.

  • FUCK That commercial used to scare the living crap out of me!

  • I love how he randomly pulls out a shitload of random drugs right in his hands

  • @KashiwaDaisuke Hey AC/DC I found out what happened to your buffet table.

  • Damn, those kids have friggin big lips!

  • that's what happen to them when they rejected the first drug dealer LMAO

  • Hahaha!!!

  • I was around 7 when I first saw this years ago on YTV and I was like "WTF?"

  • Yeah, because it's a known fact that drug dealers have gouged out eyeballs and cataracts.

  • lol didn't you know that?

  • They were only red and swollen, he has no veing readily available except his eye now...he was a BAMF.

  • Epic nostalgia, I remember this when I was a kid

  • did I see john belushi in that black and white montage???

  • The things us Canadian's had to go through...

  • Yup

  • Then again, if you looked iike a cabbage patch doll, drugs would be the least of your concerns.

  • Hi ScrewAttack :)

  • Heya Lunar :D

  • omg i shat brix the first time i saw that

  • JESUS FUCK I REMEMBER THIS.

  • Drugs are dangerous, but pink eye is fatal.

  • OMG...I forgot about this commercail and the NIGHTMARES it gave me as a child :s

  • my question is, why are there two little kids hanging out in a random alley in the middle of the night?

  • @tunafan1 Gr8 question!

  • wtf?

  • HOLY FUCK HIS EYES

  • Your eyes would be like that if you had to look at some creepy fucking muppets for 30 seconds too :D

  • *_*

  • Does the dealer have trouble saying things that has an R in it?

  • Canadian ones do. :D

  • yeah why are canadian psa's so creepy? xD

  • It scares the crap out of the kids so they don't do drugs.

  • Gets the messages across? As long as it gives a person a heart attack?

  • "grets" haha fuck

  • What I'm getting at is though, Those eyes at the end scared the f*ck outta me, and this is coming from a guy who's seen all "Friday The 13th" movies and 2 "A Nightmare On Em Street" movies.

  • Fucking scary!

  • OMG

  • the choice is yaaaars

  • Canada sounds scary if Im going to meet people with THOSE eyes D:

Joking, I really do love Canada though xD

  • Did anybody find the uncessored one?

  • "The first Hershey's bar is free, just come back for more....please."

  • They stopped airing this before I was even born, but from the comments I almost don't want to watch it. xD

  • im 15, and even i was shocked...its even a lil scary now, when i was 6, i literally cried

  • Those eyes at the end

I am not sleeping any time soon

  • Was that Albert Wesker as a puppet?

  • The first hit is never free. They'd lose too much money.

  • Whooo scare tactics

  • At least this commercial pushes the boundries instead of pussy foot around reagan style!

  • I saw the one where they actually zoomed in on his eyes (before it was banned & reedited)), only once in 1993 on YTV when I like 6. I was literally traumatized. I woke up crying from nightmares for a while. Seriously what demographic were they going after? umm Little kids who watch YTV (ie. the use of puppets), but are also familiar with the idea of needle drugs, and who can recognize Joplin and Hendrix and respond maturely to a man with scary eyes. Sound like many 6 year olds you know?

  • It was meant to scare you.

  • I clicked on this commercial because I was curious.

And tonight I will be an insomniac.

  • those images, and the eyes at the end are so disturbing :0

    also,

NAW, IT'S JUST OUR WASTE OF TIME!

  • I love the little 1/2-second montage of famous people who did too many drugs :P

  • Yeah right, dude. Then the kids would get end up getting high. You got some crazy imagination.

  • a prime example of how far psa's will go to get people's attention

  • Holy crap, that was creepy. I'm so glad they never had this in the States. o_o

  • don't worry sexyhippy, i know how you feel

  • OMG!!! i never thought i would find it. this commercial scared the crap out of me when i was little. too tell you the truth, it still scares me a little.

  • 2 of the puppets remind me of Cabbage Patch Kids!

  • and the dealer was one gone bad.

  • I remember seeing this back in either 1992 or 1993. I only saw it once, but I certainly had the wind knocked out of me when those sunglasses were lowered... PSAs sure aren't what they used to be!

  • Did I see pictures of Elvis,John Belushi and Jim Morrison flash by at warp speed in B&W in that PSA?Don't take drugs or you'll end up as ugly as those puppets.

  • Also you can see Janis Joplin...

  • this is so weak

  • hehe crazy commericials back in the days

  • whoa. that looks too much like tipi tales.

  • there is a one where he just looks at the camera and does'nt take off his shades. i'll try my best to find it

  • whoa, that would be even scarier! if i saw it, i'd keep my lights and tv on every night, idk what i have to pay for the electric bill!

  • OMGGGGGGG. THIS COMMERCIAL MADE ME NEVER WANT TO DO DRUGS.

Also, it gave me the willy's. LOLZ

Anyways, that puppet is so loaded. xD

    I wish I could find the one...where 'He ain't heavy, he's my brother' is playing...and it's abviously about...brothers.

That one is hard to find.

  • you can find it on the oficial website.

  • I remember this from when I was four years old. It traumatized me. Do a frame-by-frame play through the video right when he sticks out his hands and you'll see some very disturbing imagery...there's these really graphic pictures of junkies with their eyes rolling to the backs of their heads. Ugg...shivers.

  • Selling drugs in an alley with steam/smoke? So stereotypical...

  • It's a kid's PSA.

    What did you expect?

  • Those puppets look like they were built by Radical Sheep Shop, which also did the puppets for "Land O' Hands" (whose characters' faces are almost identical the the faces on these kid puppets) and "Big Comfy Couch". If so, this would have been one of their very first projects.

  • OH MY GOSH, THAT IS SCARIER THAN ANYTHING!

  • Ah yes, I finally figured out what the pusher puppet reminds me of! Lou Reed's animatronic doppelganger in the "No Money Down" video.

  • Hah, you're right! He looks like a cross between Ric Ocasek and Lou Reed.

  • Those are some butt ugly puppets.

  • Anyone notice that RIGHT after he takes off his glasses they cut to the end?

  • If I remember correctly, there is a another version of this PSA which zooms in on his eyes more. But despite my best efforts, I haven't been able to find it.

  • There's another version where he doesn't take his shades off.
