I can't believe the one who must not be named made it onto this video's comments. And I don't mean the HP one. Anyways, this was the first song I ever heard by them, and this its first live version. They kick ass. They actually write their music, and CAN play it live. (certain other bands with "dragon" in its name come to mind...) I don't care that the death metal purists claim that this band is overrated; they changed my life. Sonata Arctica deserve all the attention they get; and even more!

Songs like Gravenimage, Replica (For the Sake of Revenge live version especially), White Pearl, Black Oceans, Kingdom For A Heart, The Cage.... Oh well almost all their songs anyway... You just need to hear those songs once and you're hooked for life. No matter what kind of music you like, you can't go wrong with Sonata =)

@zansarr666 Had seen them twice, once in Göteborg, once in Haparanda (on the finnish border) saw that they hadn't planned any shows in sweden that year (i think it was '08) so me and my friend wrote them, told them about our journey to Haparanda just to see them, and what do you know, they booked a show in my hometown (jönköping) so try and email them! Who knows ^^

Asked around on the internet for somewhere to crash efter the show, a girl who lived close to where they played took us in. spent like 8 hours at our final destination, or something like that.

36 hours by train to get there, almost 40 hours by train to get home.

NJae.... I'd agree that elias (whilst being a kickass guitarist overall) really can't fill jani's shoes. But i don't think anyone could do that. But in general i think that it's mainly because their earlier stuff was a little better. if the were to do a show with nothing but ecliptica and silence songs, it would rock even today!
