Thanks for all the compliments about my drumming, everyone. Karl Burns was one of the best in the world and there was no way I could get anywhere near his standard. I just had to play to my own limited capabilities and feel the music. I'm not much better now, but if you want a listen to my current band The Blimp, there's a free download of our EP at Salford City Radio's web site. Look for scrfreebies.bandcamp.com/album/3
The Twitter interview was typical Fall chaos, but enjoyable. All the best to the Netherlands and thanks for being there for us. I'm having a session in a studio with a local band tonight, so I might be back on the scene again soon.
Mate, you may not regard it this year after all these years, but you certainly added a distinct and valued/different edge to the Fall sound. Love your stuff with this and with Fiery Jack in particular. Never saw you play, more's the pity (my 1st Fall concert was Oct 1980). I gather you're playing again, well done fella. All best.
My new band "The Blimp" are over 10 years younger than me and are mad Fall fans, so you'll hear the influence in our music. Let me know if you want a download link and I'll email you one for the free EP.
Check out the blimp on Myspace and search for Theblimpuk. If you go onto myspace and type in mikeleighdrummer you should find me and my email address is in the info section on my page.
