They were not Latino. The movie wasn't even a whole Latino voice cast. All the people voiceing the cartoon charcters were white peolpe. I'm not sure if their was like one or two black people voiceing a charcter but I know that it wasn't a Latino cast doing it.

So what if the characters weren't voiced by actual Latinos, it's still a Latin story featuring Latino people. Aladdin was an Arabic story but I don't remember any of the characters being voiced by actual Arabian actors. The same can be said for Beauty and the beast, Hunchback of the Notre Dame, Hercules, etc.

Ciderella was Italian

Aurora was British

Ariel was in Denmark (or at least the original story was set there. I'm not sure.)

In my opinion, they did not blow it by making him from lalaland. They wanted to go back to their princess roots. Latinos don't have any kind of monarchy of recent, so it would be hard to connect and they can't just add in some history that wasn't there (Pocahontas made that mistake and it pissed off a whole lot of people) so it makes perfect sense to me. Don't get so uptight it's a fun, romantic disney flick.

I agree with you whole-heartedly, I'm a Latina (Puerto rican and peruvian) and its true what you said, they wanted a prince so OF COURSE they couldn't use any real countries due to historical problems (They learned that from pochahontas, tho I really love that movie since I look like her a bit), I admired the fact that they created a language (sort of).....but yes, I agree. However, I hope that they will create a latina princess...I know it'll be hard to, but, a girl can dream right?

In reality, I don't really care where he's from, but I just thought it was kind of neat that he's voiced by a Brazilian guy, because (excluding Brazilian television, of course) I hardly ever see a Brazilian actor/ actress in any movie, and this guy is voicing a disney prince, so I kinda think its awesome. xD

Well, I guess this video confirms that the movie is indeed going to be hand drawn. I was worried about the animation at first cause I heard it would be paperless, and that made me afraid that that same "magic" wouldn't be there of knowing that all the characters you see are on moving paper drawn by talented artists. It might look the same, but it wouldn't be as special if it wasn't done the same way as before.
