i fucking hate snakes, i mean really have a crazy fear of them. it's odd because i like animals more than people weirdly but with the snake i just think its evil. it looks evil and is a natural killing machine. dont know why they scare me so much, maybe its evolutional. there is nothing "beautiful" about them, the way they move and look is just evil and scary. it's so irrational and unfair but i cant help it

Great recap of all the snakes. If you review the tape again and look at animal number 5 you will see there is a yellow phase to the left of the dark phase so that makes your total at least 9.
I think the one animal that was out basking closer to the water is actually a male. Not that it really matters but males will occasionally spend time near the females at rookeries like these.
My daughter is 12 and she just adores snakes of all kinds- particularly rattlers' and sidewinders. Thank you for the great footage and being so calm under pressure of snakes and parasites! Colleen
O my goodness! A little scary for me, but props to you for getting so close and not being scared! keep up the good work, your videos are very interesting and very informative, which is great for youtube!
Great video! I love the insitu shots. A lot of people putting videos on the web could learn from this. It is really nice to see a video where the snakes are NOT immediately grabbed and shoved in front of a camera.
That was really awesome. It was really cool seeing someone find these beautiful and protested creatures and not needing to touch them. There are other ways to show off their beauty by being still and letting them just do what they do. Great video.
I totally agree! I hate how on tv they have to taunt the animals to make them look dangerous. It puts them through undue stress. Really they are not aggressive at all.

The great big yellow rattler that was crawling over the rocks was a big male.
