Lifelong Fav ! TABLAS @ 2:19 leading to YEHUDI MENUHIN "VIOLIN" to Melt to ! Especially from 2:59 ! Violin Music to Surrender to ! ( I lost my heart @ 2:59 even as a young kid! :)
Gosh the Violins so intense like of Yehudi Menuhin, Prem Joshua can create a tempest WITHIN better than those thunder clouds, Bansuri & Sitar Music that invigorate & make me lose my heart to ! (..as Sitar strings in rain, can almost make one "feel" the breeze of cool fragrant monsoons in lush open nature! :)
Absolutely Mesmerizing ! :) & Nostalgic. :) Reminds me WHY I melt to the touching strings of the VIOLIN in particular & though not much featured here, the awesome SITAR ! :) &, JUST as especially the TABLAS ! :)
"SWARA KAKALI" too is among my all-time favorite "Jugalbandi" of Ravi Shankar's Sitar, & awesome Yehudi Menuhin's Violin from this 1967 "East Meets West" Concert. :)
This Violin clip should've been longer than 111 seconds, from where I start to really LOVE it, @ 2:21 LOL! :)
This is incredibly captivating. The visual makes the music and the music makes the visual. The only thing I would've asked for was that it was a computer generated motion picture rather than be still, maybe of the Big Bang or something.
@josyula547 Music is produced by the Mind, and where music takes us is to a place where the mind CAN reach, but only if it is to let go everything consuming it, as to embrace it's essence.
Violin is well suited to Indian classical music because it has no frets and microtones are easily expressed. As with all musicians, Yehudi Menhuin brings his culture to his interpretation of the Raga. Although faithful to the rythym and scale, there is a distinct Jewishness to this piece. Remember that Ragas are 90 % improvisation. Wow! Vedic Klezmer! Also India and Israel are not that far apart...
Grew up dancing in delight even as a young kid on this scintillating Ravi Shankar/Yehudi Menuhin sitar/violin music masterpiece in particular from 2:21 onwards! :)My dear dad used to play this on the record player. The other one posted as 'Ravi Shankar/Yehudi Menuhin: Swara Kakali' by alejandra379 was equally mesmerizing 4 me to dance on since I was a kid. :) These Gems & Manna Dey's Naache Re Mayura compelled me to make a new Playlist of 'Classical Delights & Nostalgic Gems! :)Thanks! Aesthetics of Music take us to places where the mind cannot reach.
A masterpiece of music!

A big part of the raga is injecting one's self into it.

But, of course, This isn't a raga.
