Its horrible to think a child's body laying in the woods at night being eaten by animals or them trying to eat them. Its so sad. I hope their souls are with God, protected and allowed to play as children forever, running and laughing in Gods pastures..

So the defense argument is that animals (no explanation of what kinds of animals) attempted to eat the victims less than 24 hours after the murders were committed. Remember that the bodies were found less than 24 hours after they were killed. So basically, the "animals" swam into the water where the bodies were floating and attempted to eat them. How many wild animals in Arkansas swim into water to recover carcasses? I wonder.

@pearljambuff Sure don't. I think this is exactly what Misskelley described it as during his at least four confessions. This was Echols' rage fueled fantasy he enacted while drunk on cheap booze. I don't think they planned it, conducted any real satanic rites, or did anything other than follow Echols' lead when Echols saw an opportunity. The other two were followers. This was about Echols' taking out his hate and anger on people who could not fight back.

A black bear would sniff first, then tear with claws, and then eat. There was no real tearing and apparently the bodies were intact with one exception; the disgusting severed penis. Hungry animals actually eat carrion; they do not sort of half-claw it then walk away. Also, bodies were in the water, making it more unlikely.

While the detectives were talking to her about the unrelated matter, the boy started talking to them about the location where the three boys could be found. That is a little strange and would make anyone suspicious. Where could he have come across that information and why does he recant this now? Makes no sense.

@hoppterr my question here was about a witness, not jessie miskelly ,who confessed. but as far as jessie goes, even if it was a 12 hour session,which it wasnt,and if he was hungry or whatever, he still confessed 2 more seperate times to the detectives,once to his lawyer on tape, and again to the deputies that were taking him to prison after his trial. he also failed a polygraph when proclaiming innocence before he confessed. damien failed a polygraph also.callahan.8k.com will show u the facts

There are some law enforcemnt officers involved with this case that belong in jail. These three men were completly innocent. They were railroaded intentioinally to benifit public officials and others. Demand justice people. This wrong must be righted once and for all.
Big Lesson here don't be a smart aleck. Even Damien admits he hurt his own case. One theory is somebody tied those boys up thinking it was a trick then they died. It could have been Terry it could have been the boys but it was not premediated. I am afraid we will never know.
People lie, people make mistakes, people are not perfect... DNA does not lie, and the DNA at this crime scene doesn't match any of these boys. Terry Hobbs LIED and said that he didn't see the boys the night they were murdered. A neighbor said he saw him with the boys that night. This was never pushed by law enforcement. The fact that he lied was never investigated. This is a tragedy and now the children will never have justice the innocent are free and the guilty will never be investigated...
@mommamissi31 The 3 witnesses that claim they saw the boys with Hobbs the night of the murders did not tell police until 16 years later. How could they remember that evening so well? If Hobbs were the killer, he would have had to taken the boys into the woods after the first search for them was going on. That seems highly unlikely. He would have also had a very small window in which to kill the boys, he had to pick his wife up from work at 9. He was also watching his 4-year old daughter.
ok, lol, im done, but I am so very glad that these three men are free, and so very sorry for the situation that they had to plead guilty but I know its the deal they gave them, and I know why they took it, and they should not feel ashamed that they did because we understand and dont worry we dont believe you did anything and one day everyone will believe it and know it...GOD BLESS .

Pam Hobbs did not reveal she was suspicious of Terry Hobbs until she and her ex-husband were going through a bitter divorce in 2002. If she really believed Terry committed the murders--and a pederast--why did she stay with him for 9 more years? And remember, if Hobbs killed the boys, he would have had to taken them back to the woods while the first search was going. That's highly unlikely.

I learned to always search for the truth and try to get the whole picture, when they were arrested way back in 1993 they really made us believe that they had the right people and one would assume they had hard evidence to back it up but that was not the case and the behavior of the judge in years after that not granting new trials and all that was very questionable that judge denyed every attempt at a new trial until he was no longer adjudicating and even then tried to stop it, that speaks loud
Ive never thought these boys who are now men where guilty after I heard what evidence they had shortly after their arrest because they had no evidence and a forced confession on a minor with no lawyer or parent present..and im glad to say that I lived to see they day that these men are free and hope to see the day that they are cleared completely and the real person charged I was 15 when these murders happened here in arkansas and learned a valuable lesson that you cant always trust the law

@ReneeReed You obviously need to do some more research as well. Investigators don't know that the same shoelaces belonging to each boy was used to hogtie them, they could have been mixed up. The hair found that MAY have belong to Jacoby (consistent with 7% of the population) was found 2 weeks later. Even if it did belong to Jacoby, one of the boys could have picked it up in the Hobbs' home hours or days before the murders. The hairs belonging to both Jacoby and Hobbs don't really mean anything.
These boys were killed by someone they knew, a sick family member, and it seems there was no shortage of them in these boys' lives. Chris appeared to be the main "target" and he wasn't tortured and castrated by a group of teenage strangers. He was the victim of a deep seated personal rage, perhaps a child abusing step dad? The trigger for the rage being that Chris finally told someone about Byers molesting him? Nothing points to the men they convicted. 1 inept police investigation and 6 victims.
It makes sense the scratch marks would have come from animals, but what's up with that bite mark or belt buckle wound on Stevie Branch's face? If that's a bite mark, the teeth imprints are too square to be made by a carnivorous animal. And why would animals only eat some of Christopher's genitals and leave everything else alone but for a lot of scratches?
@clintrock it was bullshit though, they had to plead guilty, and they are on probation for the next 10 years. and in the record books they are still convicted killers. they have to write that on a job application, that they are murderers, and a background check, will show that they killed those kids.

Celebrities have turned this case into a cause celebre and greatly influenced public opinion. I really think these 3 men are guilty. Maybe there isn't enough physical evidence to link them to the crime, but that doesn't mean they didn't do it. There's no physical evidence linking Casey Anthony to the death of her daughter, but most people believe she murdered her.

@ted818283 Chris was viciously beat by his step father on a regular basis, many eye witness accounts to verify this. He beat him after he made him strip naked. Sound normal? At the time of his autopsy Chris was covered with belt buckle marks, old bruises and scars. Mark Byers admitted to beating him the day he went missing. Christophers' mother confided in someone that she suspected Chris was being molested. Byers had to be livid when he found out. Now what was your question? Stepdads' motive?
@308gucci In my other comments I addressed Hobbs as an alternative suspect, not Byers. Byers had a solid alibi for the timeframe of the murders. His whereabouts were accounted for by multiple people.
WM3 supporters have since abandoned Byers as their main suspect once Hobbs' hair was discovered at the crime scene and new witnesses came forward claiming they saw the boys at the Hobbs home.

@brabon1 Be careful, these Documentaries about the WM3 aren't telling you everything. Damien had a necklace with blood specks taken from him when he was arrested. This was never submitted as evidence because the specimens were too small, DNA could not be extracted and it wasn't found at the crime scene. Also, don't ignore Jessie Miskelley's 3 taped confessions one of which was taped by his own defense attorney who urged with him not to talk, but Jessie wanted the truth to come out.
The prosecution actually withdrew blood evidence because the Judge said it could create a mistrial for another defendant Jason Baldwin. Jason's blood wasn't consistent with what was discovered on the necklace/pendant - the other 2 it was as was one of the victims. They withdrew this evidence because they wanted to convict all 3 and not let any of them get away with murder, but in the end they kinda did.

The defendants by acknowledging there was sufficient evidence towards guilt pretty much destroyed the supporter efforts to dismiss the evidence. All these years of back & forth between "nons" & "supporters" arguing about if there was sufficient evidence only to have the 3 convicted admit there was.

@ted818283 The step-father's hair was not found on his step-son. It was found on one of the other boys. The hair from the step-fathers friend was found ON A STUMP near the boys. If you had watched the video, and listened, you would have known this.

So who do we reckon 'really' did it? Theres no substantial evidence that points to anyone. The DNA found there could easily have been trasnfered through other means..... Except was there a hair on a stump? whos hair was that? That's the most likely suspect
@shabtash The hair found on a stump was consistent with 7% of the population, including Hobbs' friend Jacoby. The hairs don't prove Hobbs and/or Jacoby committed the murders. The hairs could have easily been picked up by one of the boys at the Hobbs' home. The police don't consider Hobbs or Jacoby suspects even though WM3 Supporters believe they are. I'm not convinced the WM3 committed the murders, however I don't believe they're innocent either. They are the most likely suspects though.

@Kornelius1972 I've seen a pic of the crime scene that shows one black kids shoe with the lace still in it. The autopsy also said that one of the kids were castrated. Considering how shoddy the rest of this investigation was, I wouldn't put too much faith in the autopsy report. The FBI agent that looked at the case said the injuries were caused by an animal. No murder weapon, no eyewitnesses, no bloody or muddy clothes, no motive, no dna, you do the math.

The witnesses would recant and the physical evidence would not be there. Even the DNA evidence from the shoelace and the tree stump weren't the 3. It was the step father and his friend, but they will never admit. I hope when they fully get exonerated that they sue the state and the prosecutors.

@brabon1 I think it's not so much that they chose to get out of jail, but they wanted to save Damien from death. At this point, it WAS a matter of life and death and, in Damien's case, there was no life option. It IS a raw deal, but it was the only deal that guaranteed Damien be saved.

Remember that the bodies were found less than 24 hours after they were killed. So basically, the "animals" swam into the water where the bodies were floating and attempted to eat them. I don't think they planned it, conducted any real satanic rites, or did anything other than follow Echols' lead when Echols saw an opportunity. The other two were followers. This was about Echols' taking out his hate and anger on people who could not fight back.

A black bear would sniff first, then tear with claws, and then eat. There was no real tearing and apparently the bodies were intact with one exception; the disgusting severed penis. Hungry animals actually eat carrion; they do not sort of half-claw it then walk away. Also, bodies were in the water, making it more unlikely.

While the detectives were talking to her about the unrelated matter, the boy started talking to them about the location where the three boys could be found. That is a little strange and would make anyone suspicious. Where could he have come across that information and why does he recant this now? Makes no sense.

@hoppterr my question here was about a witness, not jessie miskelly ,who confessed. but as far as jessie goes, even if it was a 12 hour session,which it wasnt,and if he was hungry or whatever, he still confessed 2 more seperate times to the detectives,once to his lawyer on tape, and again to the deputies that were taking him to prison after his trial. he also failed a polygraph when proclaiming innocence before he confessed. damien failed a polygraph also.callahan.8k.com will show u the facts

People lie, people make mistakes, people are not perfect... DNA does not lie, and the DNA at this crime scene doesn't match any of these boys. Terry Hobbs LIED and said that he didn't see the boys the night they were murdered. A neighbor said he saw him with the boys that night. This was never pushed by law enforcement. The fact that he lied was never investigated. This is a tragedy and now the children will never have justice the innocent are free and the guilty will never be investigated...

@mommamissi31 The 3 witnesses that claim they saw the boys with Hobbs the night of the murders did not tell police until 16 years later. How could they remember that evening so well? If Hobbs were the killer, he would have had to taken the boys into the woods after the first search for them was going on. That seems highly unlikely. He would have also had a very small window in which to kill the boys, he had to pick his wife up from work at 9. He was also watching his 4-year old daughter.

Pam Hobbs did not reveal she was suspicious of Terry Hobbs until she and her ex-husband were going through a bitter divorce in 2002. If she really believed Terry committed the murders--and a pederast--why did she stay with him for 9 more years? And remember, if Hobbs killed the boys, he would have had to taken them back to the woods while the first search was going. That's highly unlikely.

I learned to always search for the truth and try to get the whole picture, when they were arrested way back in 1993 they really made us believe that they had the right people and one would assume they had hard evidence to back it up but that was not the case and the behavior of the judge in years after that not granting new trials and all that was very questionable that judge denyed every attempt at a new trial until he was no longer adjudicating and even then tried to stop it, that speaks loud

Ive never thought these boys who are now men where guilty after I heard what evidence they had shortly after their arrest because they had no evidence and a forced confession on a minor with no lawyer or parent present..and im glad to say that I lived to see they day that these men are free and hope to see the day that they are cleared completely and the real person charged I was 15 when these murders happened here in arkansas and learned a valuable lesson that you cant always trust the law

@ReneeReed You obviously need to do some more research as well. Investigators don't know that the same shoelaces belonging to each boy was used to hogtie them, they could have been mixed up. The hair found that MAY have belong to Jacoby (consistent with 7% of the population) was found 2 weeks later. Even if it did belong to Jacoby, one of the boys could have picked it up in the Hobbs' home hours or days before the murders. The hairs belonging to both Jacoby and Hobbs don't really mean anything.

These boys were killed by someone they knew, a sick family member, and it seems there was no shortage of them in these boys' lives. Chris appeared to be the main "target" and he wasn't tortured and castrated by a group of teenage strangers. He was the victim of a deep seated personal rage, perhaps a child abusing step dad? The trigger for the rage being that Chris finally told someone about Byers molesting him? Nothing points to the men they convicted. 1 inept police investigation and 6 victims.

At the time of his autopsy Chris was covered with belt buckle marks, old bruises and scars. Mark Byers admitted to beating him the day he went missing. Christophers' mother confided in someone that she suspected Chris was being molested. Byers had to be livid when he found out. Now what was your question? Stepdads' motive?

@brabon1 Be careful, these Documentaries about the WM3 aren't telling you everything. Damien had a necklace with blood specks taken from him when he was arrested. This was never submitted as evidence because the specimens were too small, DNA could not be extracted and it wasn't found at the crime scene. Also, don't ignore Jessie Miskelley's 3 taped confessions one of which was taped by his own defense attorney who urged with him not to talk, but Jessie wanted the truth to come out.

The prosecution actually withdrew blood evidence because the Judge said it could create a mistrial for another defendant Jason Baldwin. Jason's blood wasn't consistent with what was discovered on the necklace/pendant - the other 2 it was as was one of the victims. They withdrew this evidence because they wanted to convict all 3 and not let any of them get away with murder, but in the end they kinda did.

I'm not convinced the WM3 committed the murders, however I don't believe they're innocent either. They are the most likely suspects though.

Considering how shoddy the rest of this investigation was, I wouldn't put too much faith in the autopsy report. The FBI agent that looked at the case said the injuries were caused by an animal. No murder weapon, no eyewitnesses, no bloody or muddy clothes, no motive, no dna, you do the math.

These prosecutors had and are having their heads so far up their ass its ridiculous. Pretty much this plea deal was was to save their ass. They knew if they went to a new trial that they would lose. The witnesses would recant and the physical evidence would not be there. Even the DNA evidence from the shoelace and the tree stump weren't the 3. It was the step father and his friend, but they will never admit. I hope when they fully get exonerated that they sue the state and the prosecutors.

@brabon1 I think it's not so much that they chose to get out of jail, but they wanted to save Damien from death. At this point, it WAS a matter of life and death and, in Damien's case, there was no life option. It IS a raw deal, but it was the only deal that guaranteed Damien be saved.

Not saying this means they killed the 3 boys, but, numerology such as this wouldn't have been lost on Damien. There is a vacantness in his eyes that is strange, even to this day.

@7pretty7 The bite marks actually never were introduced as evidence because of all the retards workin the case.........I saw a picture of the probable bite wounds and the mouth looked very small, and I always noticed Mr.s Byers tiny PieHole. And heard the FBI profiler say normal if they see bite wounds they'll arrest the mother right away

All I know for sure is ..they didn't match any of the boys in jail. THis is a messed up case for sure. I lost all faith in the justice system recently. It is out of twilight zone. People who really did do it and they just walk away as if nothing ever happened. ..Thanks again.
