  • senge firstly you need to restructure your thoughts u do not call a mad man yet the things he stands for isnt entirely shoria law that isnt a geniune belief once you get your facts right then then you will feel a click then we will see who the mad man is. u stupid bastard kumanuko n so i guess your going to die soon 2012 my friend

  • hinduyodha,i cn describe u as a stupid,ignorant n maybe silly cz u dont know wat u r talkin about.even kenyans r muslims

  • I can see people have resorted to ethnic insults, very similar to racism fueled by hate and ignorance instead of having a civilised productive debate, you will never achieve anything by insulting your fellow human being. peace is only achieved through a mutual understanding.

  • nysi4shizzl:there are people who lived in luo land from ethnic tribes that have been killed.I feel agreeved and i hope for your sake you watched people from the kikuyu tribe burn in a church to understand where this debate will lead.Tribalisim(not racisim)as we call it in kenya was brought into this by luos &kalenjins. The idiots have now kicked the viable tribes out and have started on thier own!Fools.I feel raila has not made any effort to stop this!everone else is civilized bar luos&kaleos

  • The idea that one tribe is responsible for what ensued is preposterous. You are seriously ill informed my friend. a killer is a killer irrespective of what tribe they come from. The fact is that thousands of Kenyans irrespective of tribe have been made refugees in their own country, what was once a beacon of peace but now a comparison to Rwanda, it is sad indeed. The answer is to reconcile as Kenyans instead of adding more fuel in to the hatred campaign.

  • What hatred campaign I think you will find my friend" in any fight there is always an agressor. I agree a killer is a killer but i have no doubt that the stolen so called vote should not hve led to the current events. Are you for real people have died and it was a result of luos&kaleos who started all this. I dont remeber reading anyone one else rioting from day 1!what planet were you one when it all kicked off. Grow up open your eyes this was pre organised.

  • I think you fail to see the bigger picture here. You will not achieve anything by playing the blame game. the violence goes beyond the elections rift. It's become an excuse for people to settle issues that were never dealt with by the previous government concerning land disputes etc. The violence has been perpetrated by both and cannot be excused by blaming one party.

  • Im grown & my eyes are open, all i see is PEOPLE killing each other in what is a senseless war, it doesnt matter who, luo or Kikuyu or any other. This is not a playground fight where we have to determine who started what, instead we have to unite in condemning the death of innocent Kenyans. Your ideology of who started what is completely unfounded unless you were there to see who drew blood first. Its the politicians on both sides who should be blamed for in-effective solution to this problem

  • All i will remember is ojinga calling for a million man march that led others to commit crimes of unspeakable nature. You can tkae your comments about reconciling to the kids i just saw on telly kids from the kikuyu tribe who told a very farmiliar tale of lou and kalenjin killings that hav made him an opharn. The blame game is here to stay dude we can forgive but will never 4 get what they have done.Lets reconcile but luo&kalenjins can kiss the thought of ever running a govmnt id sooner die.!!!!

  • To say that we have a constitution in Kenya that protects the rights for all is laughable because the police continue to kill innocent civilians, politicians overule certain aspects of the constitution, the president acts as if he is above the law, it beggers belief and kleads one to ask why we have a constitution at all if no one abides by it.

  • It is very sad the state of affairs in Kenya unfortunately for years we have lacked the kind of leadership that would have successfully dealt with the situation. The problem of tribalism has always been there sadly the fall out of the election has given some an opportunity to vent out their hate which has led to a very very sad state of affairs.

  • aira you are are realy nice young men, b

ut what you do with arab? you what to bring us back to arabs ? let's contiunious with our lifes. leave balala alone his family is in arabian...

let us fight against corruptions and our life.

and don't sell us to arabs. from the kids from united kingdom and please don't play with keya lifes, because you are looking for money,

  • Its funny that people are actually glad that kibaki stole the vote the guy has no charisma, is a poor speaker in short he is a loser. Î wonder how he would have performed in this interview. fu#$%^& B^&*(**

  • KIBAKI WAS ALSO TOTURED BY President Moi

so did Matiba They didn't go crying all over the faking place telling everyone they got totured wat African/Asian state and some European state i.e Russia/Ukraine/Italy doesn't toture its opponents..?

    Lets be realistic here.

  • Raila can rule Western...

    wat the fak..

    Kenyan Dream..?

The Kenyan dream is to live in Better Standards.. Kibaki had done alot to improve that.

Many were saying Kibaki is too soft/democrat.

Even Raila said that he is just twisting things for his own benefit (to be in power).

  • You are celebrating while your brothers and sisters are being slaughteres back at home-for what? One manipulative guy's greed to come in to power (controlfreak) power with all means neccessary.Lets see for how long you gonna celebrate with your Fish.

its not like i really care anyway so long as my realtives in kenya don't get hurt.Luos can be killed.

    >:}

    G'DAY.

  • Yes i like his leadership for kenyan people and he is willing to do. i consider him a president of kenya. best wishes for Mr. Raila Odinga.

    Israr Khan

    K.S.A

  • Raila Odinga: If you shalt confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in your heart that God had raised from the dead, you shalt be saved (Romans 10:9 Your Bible)

  • Something is wrong with you!

  • I accept Jesus Christ in my heart as my Saviour and Lord, and his Holly Ghost gives me the security of eternal life, and give me true love, peace in my mind and heart, hope and a wonderful plan to my life. What`s the problem, friend?

  • Its disturbing to read comments like from this one guy senge1.You are celebrating while your brothers and sisters are being slaughteres back at home-for what? One old bold guy's greed to hang onto power with all means neccessary.Lets see for how long you gonna celebrate with your githeri senge

  • Why did you doubt that kibaki would be back Eh!!!!! everyone who thought for a brief moment we would lose ...but no.... bush used his brother to win aganist Al gore we won fair and square ?????????!!!! ha!! . That a side raila was going to mess up the country as it were and kazi ita endelea....viva Githeri no samaki

    senge!!!!!!!!!!1

  • Hehehehe..yeah, too true! This Raila OJINGA is on abt moral order while his crowd butcher pple.Oh plse! I'm sick sick sick sick of this mentally retarded Raila.

  • You feel me. How can you deal with idots like Luo's(not all of them by the way) who burn thier entire homeland and forget they will have to live and work there?!I am in no way being prejudicial in anyway (dont care either way) but if raila is the best they can produce he is but a fool with a mind cloged by fish oil and smelly breath. Have you seen how oily he looks when he is on telly ? its like he has had a whole tub of cooking oil poured on him. what an idiot

    senge

  • Rafiki,

Unajua, these fishy greasebags have destroyed our entire country? I mean, wtf were they thinking when they went on rampaging and calling it 'No Raila, No peace' 'No raila No Rail'..I know how u feel cos thts how I've been feeling during this entire Kisirani month. I can't understand how come they haven't been charged wid criminality in our Kenya! These thugs have vandalised our women, kids, grandfathers/moms, and they want Raila as Pres.? No way.

  • OOOHHH What the H? Are you guys out of your mind? we thugged what? men kikuyus are known for that...by the way fish is good for you..stop blaming Raila

  • hinduyodha:yeah man i totally agree with you. If as an elected member and so called leader of the opp cannot even stop his thugs from what thier doin. yes he needs to be charged with doing nothing and adding fuel to the fire???By saying donors should stop funding kenya who will suffer the most. yes you guessd it his constituents.I would call for crimes aganist humanity at the least with hard labour.I cannot for one see a jalfis ever leading the country.cannot be trusted!!! do you?

  • And BTW, what is this Constitution that Ojinga keeps on abt? I believe its something to introduce Islamic Sharia laws into Kenya. Not only that, Raila is siding with the Islamics to terrorise Kenyans..have we ever heard of Churches being burnt in Kenya? No, never! We need to question Raila why is it he has Muslims on his side who r pressurising him for Sharia Laws. Kenya is 85% Xtina..we don't need stone-age laws in our country.

  • No doubt my friend. There is no way i can see sharia law or any sort of islamic leadership in kenya. Its safe to say that religion is practised but not with any bigotry. What constitution is he on a bout?surely he has to be at the helm to even callfor a constitutional debate. We are now dealing with a total madman. He must go to bed every night and cry like a baby that he still cannot get anyone around the world to tell kibaki to leave or call for an immediate election! Dream on ojinga dream on!!!!

  • if raila was president Kenya would have been a developed country in 2 years. people like him and trust him. And he is honest, the truth be told those thieves(kikuyu's) would have even been richer if they did not steal the elections. What a bunch of idiots and a bad breed for Africa!!

  • has he dev'p kibera, the biggest slum in the world..or nyanza with boda bodas everywhere? i'm in the US...and it's the same...kiuks run the kenyan biz's and not a single luo biz I know, just survivors....so, just shut up!

  • So let me see, you want him to develop nyanza while he was Jail? oh i guess Raila has lots of money from him pocket to do so? Kikuyu's are economically empowered and most of those who are "making it" are doing so with stolen money. or need i remind you that Kikuyu's are thieves. Has Raila been the president for you to conclude that he failed?? hebu acha upuzi! And by the way i know luos abroud who are doing well in biz. i.e with clean money!!

  • Did u notice how none of us in Kenya celebrated the New Year? Believe it Rafiki,Raila IS the best they can produce..hehehee..I met him once in Nairobi West when he came to ask for Kura and I told him, first build this pothole infested street of ours. He said he would..that was in 2002..today the street is one massive pothole from beginning to end..he can't build shit let alone one street in his constituency.

  • Build it yourself..

  • Hehehheehe..err..NO..I didn't ask for Kura..hehehe..those who come beggin in my neighbourhood for Kura should build it for me!

  • Luos ooohhhh? hahaha I am lol at you so loud I don't know what to say...Raila kende.

  • they are men in this world that weild a good deal of power and relate to the common man with no problem. UHURU NOW!!!! best wishes RAILA, the whole words eyes focus on you to bring change!!!!

  • odinga's a world figure

    best wishes from kibera

  • Agwambo tinga

  • I Agree with nysi4shizzle to think this crazy luo will be any different would be pudent. Yes i am ribal so wat. kibaki from a neutral poinyt of view aiight job good economy his tribe in the governent. nothing new there. Raila has clinton's ex campaign advisor owns a hummer truck and wants people to belive he is any better ..he can kiss my ass...he just as bad an it will take the young bloods who are growing up in africa today to end this cycle since independence.

    shit interview

  • Change will come in the form that the Kenyan Voter demands while choosing the REAL candidate with whom they most closely align on political views, economic outlook & values;NOT the archetypal & imagined IDEAL candidate that addresses all incumbent shortcomings while being every voter's idea of an exemplary leader-Consign that idea to fantasy it does not NOW,nor will it EVER belong in the realm of reality in ANY generation.

  • Haha! sadly Majority of kenyans vote on tribal grounds. political views & economic outlook mean nothing to the un-educated and poor who are the majority. Economic growth means nothing if it only benefits the rich and the poor remain poorer. until we find a leader who will uplift the lives of the poor and transform the country in to the new age, there is very little the current politicians can offer the people. Forgive my scepticism but its a fact Kenya needs a new kind of politics.

  • Comedy!Voters inc in Kenya place implicit faith & explicit trust thru the ballot by supporting the candidate they believe will meet their personal political, economic, security, health, education & health objectives. Kenya is a country of 43 communities, most of whom no longer trust MK 2 deliver aftr having been most optimistic voters in the world jst 5yrs ago-what's sad's that he has largely himself to blame whthr by his actions/inactions,the euphoric/jubilant mandate has evaporatd in toto.

  • Comedy!Voters inc in Kenya place implicit faith & explicit trust thru the ballot by supporting the candidate they believe will meet their personal political, economic, security, health, education & health objectives. • Haha! Didnt voters believe the rubbish Kibaki uttered before he was elected, the same recycled nonsense. A better kenya eh! The reality became Growing slums, corruption, countless useless bills in the constitution. forgive me if im not impressed by the same promises ive heard before, i'll believe in what i see & until kenyans usher in real change i'll continue being a pessimist.

  • Merry go round, eh? Didn't we already have the 'archetypal, imagined ideal' candidate discussion? voters can only make a selection 4rm what's available on the menu, in 2k2 Kenyans selectd MK,I guess you considered MO1's uhuru project the bettr option, oh well 60% of us disagreed too bad. Guard against that pessimism becoming complete apathy!

  • That is the thing though, Kibaki was not an option but an illussion, same as the old. I predicted it, now Moi is his political bed fellow. You failed to see it and this is my fear same politicians still making the decisions building political family dynasties, Protecting their own financial interests. you still dont see it, my pessimism a product of my experience but do you have an excuse for your denial?

  • The Nile is a river in Africa, tehehe!I tend 2 use the menu & daresay ur negativity 2wrd MK spun 4rm the projects failure 2 launch.Isn't he aprt of anothr dynasty? Nevermind, thers alwayz 2012/17 & nduguzanguni will hav had plenty of opportunity 2 polish hotuba za kiswahili, get out of the shadows of geriatrics, dev a national agenda & surround himself with fresh blood.

  • kibaki put moi in power

    you reap what you sow

  • Change will not come from these people you know, recycled politicians have the same agenda thats why party hopping is a regular occurence in african politics. no one runs on their principles but on the basis of what they can gain, a struggle for power with poor leadership. Await the new generation and educate your people to vote for a credible leader. Almost 50 yrs since independence, much of Africa is evidence that Africans cannot rule themselves.

  • Utter rot!

There are scandals in form of corruption, not to mention-sex lies and videotape all over the world, the African continent DOES NOT have a monopoly on misconduct among its leadership.

The isn't a single country on this planet that can claim absolute accountability and transparency with no room for malfiesance of any kind. There thus can be no arbitrator of political conduct that does not recognise its own very real shortcomings.

  • I agree with you all countries see their fair share of scandals of corruption, but you are seriously mistaken if you believe that accountability in the west is similar to that in Africa. Africa's idea of democracy since independence has been to stifle the cries of the poor and abject poverty for majority of its people while many leaders continue to engage in general misconduct without any accountability. if you believe this is utter rot i wonder which planet you are livin in.

  • I'm on earth but you may hail from jupiter.I spend same time in Kenya as in US/EU & yes I say with a clear conscience that rubbish dev nations sell on transparency & accountability isn't any less pungent coz it's rubbish from the 1st world.Corporate domestic, mutinational & transnational interests infect Wash DC at the highest levels thru lobbying process & no this is not called corruption but business as usual, nor will gravy train cease for as long as politicians need campaign funds-PoliSci 101.

  • What goes on in washington has never been considered as democracy nor will i hail it as transparent. If you've spent time in the EU perhaps you're aware of English Law and Politics A tradition and foundation built on democracy and accountability. I cant vouch for the rest of the EU as they operate on entirely different systems. No country can ever claim full transparency but atleast here u will find the notion of democracy tested to the fullest.

  • More comedy! See the thing abt politics the world over is that there is NO such thing as a FREE lunch-whthr one is @ Whitehouse/No.10-Corporate domestic, mutinational & transnational interests will cont 2 infect politics at the highest levels & business as usual will also cont until voters realize we have to pay to play-CompPoliSci 101.

  • The countless successful revolutions in europe are testament that acountability can be achieved. power to the people means they can demand that change by contrast those that demand change in Kenya are persecuted. I am a living example of that, like countless Kenyans who love their country, ive been forced to seek refuge outside my country. Your so called democracy.

  • Past revolutionl reform wont change present day facts, its ok 2 dream that UK voters hold Brown & co. transparently accountable but until we recognize that politicians live 2 get in office,to do that they need 2 get elected,2 get elected they need campaign funds-in the millions of euros hapana kwacha! The gravy train is political reality in all so calld democracies & will cont 2be until voters begin footing election bills-an anathema since it usually means higher taxes-comparativ PoliSci 101.

  • The issue of campaign funds means very little in the UK. ultimately majority of voters vote on policy irrespective of the millions of £££ raised and I think you will find the uk parliament oversees the declaration of party funds under a constitutionally protected system that achieves transparency in how political parties achieve & spend their funds.

  • PT 1: As I said,it's ok to dream that the money spent on campaigns do not influence the electorate/elected...nice theorem, only prob is if that were really the case & Brits really jst vote on issues then there would be no need 2 solicit millions & there4 no need to spend them.A survey of voters would have already told Pol parties that big biz £'s were an unnecessary encumbrance, why isnt this the case?

  • PT 2: You'll find that NOT a single party will be willing 2 turn down contributions & in turn use funds 4 ads/banners/merchandise/staff etc. Since there is NO such thing as a free lunch, somewhere down the line a bill will come up for discussion/consideration and the self same contributers will influence its passage depending on whthr it affects them favorably/unfavorably.Its not politics, jst business.

  • Ineffectual argument since Africans DO now & WILL always rule themselves.Change will come in the form that the Kenyan Voter demands while choosing the REAL candidate with whom they most closely align on political views, economic outlook & values;NOT the archetypal & imagined IDEAL candidate that addresses all incumbent shortcomings while being every voter's idea of an exemplary leader-Consign that idea to fantasy it does not NOW,nor will it EVER belong in the realm of reality in ANY generation.

  • Is a Bibble a Novel what?people should not play with it,and i think in the country there is so called Daily Newspapers and wafugwa`s without criminal offence is like to kill our kenya

  • This is just British patronage with, an attack on Africans and Catholics.

Raila is a a guy I am beggining to think just might make a good president. However he should have mentioned to this guy that the British are as much to blame for corruption as Kenyans are

  • Raila this is your time! make moi pay for all that he did! You are the true son of Kenya! Kibaki blew it up!

  • RAILA is the bset man to bring about change in the status quo in kenyan political leadership..he is free from the corrupt mafia like political cartels that are fleecing the kenyan taxpayer and stealing huge sums of money...putting it in foreing places beyond reach.....Kibaki had a chance to reedem himself last five years but he blew it by putting his friends and tribesman in all the key insituitions in the countrys administration...Kenyans have had enough...

  • Moi pocketed million while public services collapsed, we started heamorraging doctors and nurses abroad, while people sang KANU 'ya jenga nchi'. This is the type of ignorance we need to get rid off, majority of kenyan politicians dont understand the basic principles of running a successful nation and that is where the public have failed themselves, by electing irresponsible imbecilles who are still in the politics of the past.

  • Imprisoned for eight and a half years without trial just because he wanted Democracy! Surely, Raila Odinga should be given a chance to become president of Kenya. He wants to realise the "Kenyan Dream". Whatever that dream is. Why not?

  • Young Kenyans who want to see positive change in their country get in touch, Im planning a revolution. We have to free our people from poverty & fake politics, the only way Kenya can be saved is by a new kind of politics. Get in touch

  • Their policies are contagious. The morals instilled everyday by this morges!in front of the lens behind it they giggle and laugh at us. and buy H3's to decive and confuse many grown fools! and this year's vote will still be on tribe lines however much we hate that.'political parties' (coz they feast on the public coffers.get a book called The State Of Africa by Martin Merideth.whoever comes we will be living the same day all over again until the youth really gets its act and legs together.

  • Has it dawned on anyone that most idiots in Kenyan politics have been there for years and achieved nothing. Raila was in KANU in the corruption era, like all he benefited from the looting that occured then, so did Kibaki, that is why no one will ever come to justice. Corruption is still rife and its no suprise that the government & the opposition has done nothing about the findings of the Kroll investigation, I suppose they are pre-occupied by more important matters hey!

  • I totally support you on this matter.very true!new Government,same people,same difference!

  • Hi, For the youth to rise to the top we have to know the correct history. One of them being that Raila was not in the KANU Govt. for that long ,and his aim was clear change from within.

On another note, before the youth jump into politics, we need to educate the masses on issues related to policy and governance or else you will get young leaders like Mungatana just payukaring ovyo ovyo....

  • Politics affects everyone, young & old and it is about time that everyone takes an interest in it. I like many Kenyans live abroad in political exile because since independence we have been leaderless, if anything we became another excuse for the west to reitarate that africans cant govern themselves effectively. Majority of us young kenyans that are well educated, well travelled and possess all the positive qualities to be effective leaders should not be discriminated against because of age.

  • The best of a bad bunch. With Kenyan politics you can only hope, we've had promises since the beginning of time but what we have is politicians with no principle and very little achievements in changing the life of the avarage person. Lets just hope for change or divine intervention.

  • Let me put it straight, I'm not Luo. I have to say that some of the anti Raila sentiments here are unplaced. It is unprogressive to say that Raila cannot win the election. This is silly, I have a strong belief that Raila is perhaps the better placed person to lead Kenya today. This is a fact and anyone may dispute it but I am 100% sure that he is the man to lead this country. Why: This guy has proved he is a team player.

  • Raila talks non-sense. He is the most corrupt individual in Kenya. Raila will never be a kenyan president, not even the leader of opposition

  • Raila is already the leader of opposition ... stop ur hate ..

  • Change will come only come to Kenya and much of Africa when a new generation of politician emerges who care about change and are prepared to spearhead Africa's abudant wealth in resources in to economic change for all of Africa's people. Political leadership should not be inherited or put in the hands of people who have been in politics for years and managed to deliver very little.

  • Kenya's problem lies within bad politics and an obsession with leadership, there is no unity in the opposition and instead of a focus on policy we have a leadership battle. Raila is the best of a bad bunch and frankly will not deliver the end of abject poverty most Kenyans are still in. For someone who has been party hopping for the last 10 yrs, he has no principle or passion for change rather an obsession with power, the downfall of many men in politics.

  • United States and Great Britain are super powers because of their stable economies. Russia fell because of economic problems.Economy is what defines a country not the language spoken by people.Today all these countries that were communist are economically devastated(FACTS).Kenya need 2 understand what can/not devastate the economy.having programs that r too social is dangerous, today Democrats are facing reality 4 being too social and it might cause them another 4 yrs out of White House.

  • I still don't understand why u guys who seems 2 have seen the other side of the world still see things as white & black, Kikuyu & Luo, here we talking about someone who don't hold a grudge w/t any tribe in Kenya, some one who is always neutral and respect other tribes. Economy is our main concern, some types of economic strategies don't work, so we need 2 be realistic, people should have freedom 2 make & spend their $ w/t interferance of the gov't

  • lynb12. You are right! It is neither either/or nor black/white. And also the economy is not an end in itself. The growing huge gap between a few rich and the poor need to be addressed. Kenya is way up there with Brazil on this one. This is the source of insecurity and potential social unrest.

  • Oh and Kibaki was quick to urge the Kenyan community in America to keep sending money home for it is badly needed there. He then hurriedly left without taking even a single question from the audience.

  • When Kibaki came to Washington, DC for the state visit hosted by President Bush. He later addressed the Kenyan community in the US and told them that they should not go back home because there were no jobs for them!He said the Kenyan youth were a hopeless bunch and that they liked just being idle and do drugs. No wonder they are now being gunned down by the police in cold blood everyday!

  • Kibaki said kenyan youth r hopeless??!! where in united States r u talking about? There r jobs in kenya but only 4 the qualified pple.2 get a job in kenya u must have atleast associate degree, but here in US even elementary kids do get jobs.If any 1 want 2 be president of kenya he/she must respect all tribes no matter how small they r. Do Raila or Kibaki respect all tribes?

  • lyonb12. I am not making this up. In 2003, a day after president Kibaki and Lucy had been hosted by their counterparts at the White House I was there when he met Kenyans from all over the US. I don't know whether, when and where anybody in the diaspora asked for jobs in Kenya. However, he categorically said no way to dual citizenship which was the main concern for most Kenyans in the diaspora. He urged them to keep sending money home though.

  • 1st I don't agree about Kibaki comments,2nd President barely takes questions in a foreign country, so Kibaki did not do extra ordinary,Kibaki's joke might be hilarious & confusing if u don't contaplate afterwards, If he said s/th like that, I agree it was stupid & like a desparate comment that was not expected from so/one like him. This election gonna be huge & any one who want 2 win must get support from all tribes. He/ She have 2 respect all tribes no matter where they are from.

  • I agree with you on that point. Unfortunately "agreeing with tribes" in Kenya translates to agreeing with tribal chiefs who have proved time and again that all they care about is their personal greed and not the people they claim to lead.

  • Raila neds to be given a chance to make kenya a communist state void of corrupton, land grabing and tribal kings; anyway he has suffered alot in the past regimes, let him have a chance to turn things arround.

  • Kenya needs Raila today, and not tomorrow. Raila is never tribalistic, infact, he isnt power-hungry. His ambitions into statehouse is purely for change. He has done enough to protect Kenya from Kikuyu's mungiki artefacts, Artur Magarimbaya's menace and etc. I cant wait to see Raila in steto. That is when Kenya will be a ful country....Kibaki is a sleeping rais, he know nothing apart from theft and paper-corruption. To hell with his large eyes!

  • I am really troubled by Raila's comments that Kenya is a "major transit point to drugs". This is clearly not true. It has been an undeniable fact that the security of Kenya has significantly improve and its absolutely irresponsible for a high-ranking official to downplay this fact on foreign media.

  • Kenya is not only a drugs transit point but a growing addiction to drugs among its youth. The major drug pushers are well known and are protected by some of the most powerful people in the government. Denial or just wishing it away will not work.

  • What's your point exactly, that it is justifiable to go bashing the motherland on foreign soil instead of dealing with the problem at home. This is bad PR for the ailing economy. It scares away investors and tourists. Come on, you know better and so is Raila.

  • Scares away investors and tourists! We have heard this song since time immomerial. Imvestors and tourists are all that matter? Wananchi are mere insects?

  • Well, its clear we have a difference of opinion. Without the investors we are going to weaken the economy. Its investors and tourists that bring jobs to wananchi. Without them, we end up like Zimbambwe . This is a symbiotic relationship. Na hiyo, nimaendeleo!!

  • The economy is not an end in itself. What good it it if it benefits only the looters in Kibaki government. Oh Yes, Kenya can become even worse than Zimbabwe (like Somalia) if this trend with Mungiki menace and the extrajudicial executions of the innocent youth by the police continues.

  • Raila is the kenyan-liberator! The new-york times calls him "the most important person in kenyan politics." He's a change agent! He is anti-corruption.. i hope you guys have not forgotten about the Artur brothers that were expossed by Raila while prominent peopl in the gov' denied their presence in the Kenya! Please, tribal sentiments will not help us...let give raila the owner he is due!

  • Raila is a communist, the worry of kenyans in dispora is where the country will go. Russia and Tanzania are good examples of what communist can do, they were devastated for good. The $56000 question is, Are kenyans ready to live to fulfil a family ambitions?????

  • Can you be any more narrow minded?

  • I don't base my comments on my hormons, I rely on Studies since I'm a Scholar. have u studied Russian History? I don't think so, I don't support/against anybody, I'm just asking whether kenya is ready for this. maybe I'm a Rassian & I know what I'm talking about ha!

  • Don't be rude u r narrow minded too. Or it is your hormon? how tall r u anyway? Respect is much more important than anything else. People r entitled 2 their opinion just don't be a baby, I don't care who is right b/t u & Lyonb12 just respect other people's opinion.we care about ecomony not who is the president. grow up yo!

  • denverb13. The economy is only a means, it is not an end in itself. A chain is as strong as its weakest link....

  • Why are those Kenyans still living in diaspora? Is it because of Raila?

  • Heshima Jameni_ Don't be stupid, people live in diaspora 4 their own choices. Hatred 4 one tribe is The biggest mistake one can make. theit is no single tribe that can rule in kenya, 2 be president one must be supported/Respected by All tribes. Do Raila or Kibaki respect all tribes??!!

  • Not everyone live in diaspora by choice you dumbhead.

  • Yes. Russia and Tanzania are very good examples of peaceful countries. There are contries which turned out to be worse than those two. Like Congo DR, Nigeria, and Sudan whose has suffered enormously despite having enormous national resources.

  • Everybody talks of Raila and Kibaki, what about ppl who havw showed the ability to bring Kenyans together like Mtava Musimi.

  • It is sad that people never see Raila but through an ethnocentric lense. I wish him well in the coming elections

  • Now the guilty are afraid and are scared of seeing a clean man take over kenyan leadership. They will talk ill of raila because they know he's the only one who can change this country for the rest are busines as usual. aluta continua Raila 07 we want a change. "After all no one kicks a dead dog" Raila for president 2007

  • Raila is all talk and an activist but can and will never make to a president of our great country KENYA. He would bring the worst tribalism and loads of bloodshed to gain is so called "EGO". For Raila to looked upon as a leader let him restore Kibera and its people from poverty. KIBAKI 4 SECOND TERM

  • Hallo! Wake-up! Bloodshed has already started in Kibaki's Kenya. It is called Mwingiki. Oh, i'm sorry it's Michuki's and Njenga Karume's fault. They are the ones in charge of security! And if their appointments were not tribal then what is?

  • Mungiki behadings are happening in Kibaki's own backyard of Othaya. If that is not bloodshed then what is? Oh, I forgot, it's all Raila's fault!

  • Hi kibakitoka oops sorry Kibakitosha?Do you know the one who came up with that declaration;kibakitosha?.I am sure you now agree that he is not tribal.Alternatively drop the name and support Kibaki in a different name.Any way let us face the facts;do you know someone called Githogo?Do you know why he is in Britain at the moment?Do you know that Kibaki sacked the three Ms;Mwiraria,Murungi and Murungaru?Do you know that Mwiraria and Murungaru are back in power thank Kibaki?

  • What about the elderly and the disabled? It is going to be done!

  • Kudos Raila keep the fire burning hope Kenya will be free and free in deed God help us.

  • Raila sums up Kenyan politics & African politics in general, nothin but empty promises. All the resources but no progress. Kenya has 7 fresh water lakes but water is still a novelty for many kenyans, Electricity is still a luxury for many and is still rationed. Millions of qualified Kenyans have escaped abroad to seek better pastures. Kenya has a potential to feed all it people but still heavily depends on western aid. A new generation of politician is needed in all of africa

  • nysi4shizzle. Until that new generation you are talking about comes forward then give Raila a chance.

  • If Raila ever becomes president...then God save our beloved Kenya. We don't need more tribalistic and ego-centric leadership. What we need is pragmatic and unbiased leadership that can only be achieved by us electing the right people. Unfortunately, Raila aint it. At least Kibaki can vouch for what he has achieved so far and is in for the next 5 years...whether we like it or not.

  • KIBAKI ia a let down RAILA should be given a chance if we gave KIBAKI who is 10times useless to RAILA why not consider RAILA ALUTER CONTINUER

  • If Raila becomes president then make Australia your permanent home.

  • What has Raila done for Kibera? Raila has no credence. Kenyans don't need career politicians, Kenyans need economists. Raila is talking abt his Moi era days, what abt the Kibaki days when he remains pugnacious and extravagant? This guy is a danger to all the good that has emerged from Kenya in the last 5 years. How can he talk abt corruption when he drives a KSH 50 million hummer?

  • Before i even read all ur commentary i predicted ur stupidy and primitive point.First to answer you Raila is not the Kenyan president neither the kenyan Govenment!!what has Uhuru as the official opposition leader done for the people of Gatundu with all that Money his father stole from kenyans!!my dear rottweiller friend,u people r unbelievable

  • read before u comment learn some english and comment in english please coz presidential candidate and president are two different things

  • Rasprogress, what have YOU done for Kibera? Raila must be doing something good that's why they elect him to represent them. If you have done more for the people of Kibera why don't you go represent them?

  • U elected Raila and he has done nothing for Kibera or his village. Kazi yake ni kelele na kuringa na Hummer!

  • Kibaki has put us Kenyans to a big shame. He showed us what Moi really meant by "Kenya ina wenyewe." Ni wale Wazungu maharamia wanaotafutwa na INTERPOL; armenian brothers! Kuna aibu nyingine tena kupita hiyo. Ati tunasema tulinyakua uhuru. Uhuru gani? Mwanzo it is Raila's voice that defended whatever dignity Kenya was left with in challenging the Armenian crooks. Oh Kenya, the laughing stock of Africa!

  • I love this guy, Kenyans should give him a chance...

  • Why cant Kenyans give this man a chance after surviving all those morons who lead them?I bet every individual knows that he's the right one.The only thing stopping them is the divide and rule method they learnt from the colonialists.

  • i respect raila and i know he is the best!

  • Very well said Raila, but I will only support you if you promise to bring change to the under-privilleged children of Kenya. How about being the first African nation to introduce a weekly child allowance paid directly to the children? This will ensure every child receives the basic needs of life.

  • raila! raila! raila! gotta give the guy 4 choosing his words wisely.....bt c'mon kenyans know him, we r not gonna fall 4 tht!!!he's a politician, n funny thng is am sure he knows he dsnt have a chance of winning any presidential elections, he might as well give up

  • this Raila is a danger.Got his education in former Soviet union.Got to give the Soviets a thumbs up coz they created a real communist by name of Raila. His father was the architect of the current tribal political wrangles that have made Kenyan politics a joke.Odinga snr-the father- drove Kenyatta insane hence the abolition of multi-partyism by Kenyatta.A snake begets a snake.A luo presidency is fine but a Raila presidency is a no no.Hell no.

  • Your facts are terribly twisted, sir. Arguing that gaining tertiary education in Soviet bloc countries makes one a communist, is making irresponsible genaralisation. I'm currently studying the political history of Kenya and it does not seem to me that Oginga Odinga was the architect of tribal poiltics. I Suggest that you carefully examine the reasons behind the formation of the KPU in 1966 before falling into such fallacies.

  • The British who jailed Kenyatta said Kenyatta was a leader to darkness and death and that he was a communist because he went to school in Russia before going to Britain. Jaramogi Oginga Odinga told the British when Kenyatta was still in jail, "No Kenyatta, no Uhuru." He even said that Kenyatta was a second god to him. Raila said "Kibaki tosha." The Odinga family is responsible for two Kikuyu presidents in Kenya. Now where is the tribalism here?

  • ricenda177. Get your facts right before you display your ignorance. Raila did NOT get his education in the Soviet Union. And even if he did, so what? We have many prominent Kenyans who got their education in apartheid South Africa, colonial Kenya and imperial Britain that hanged Dedan Kimathi Waciuri and jailed "communist" Jomo Kenyatta. And by the way the founder of communism, Karl Marx, lived, died and was buried in Britain.

  • Raila is not the most captivating speaker and I think if a presidentail debate was held he would be in trouble, granted that he has command of the issues affecting Kenya. I think Kibaki would hurt him in a debate. He does, howver, have a chance at being elected president

  • I can support any other person from Raila's tribe, but not him (Raila). He is Amin Dada in the making. I respect him when he is calm, but when he is angry, he is a totally different fellow.

  • Hey buddy it's not about you! There are 36 million Kenyans who can think for themselves. Come December it will be the dawn of a new era in Kenya.

  • "In my government, key personnel in the Kenya Revenue Authority, the Central Bank, the Ministry of Finance and so on will reflect the face of the country. Institutions will not be packed with my tribesmen and friends."

This captured my attention and in brief was the best statement of the whole speech. Lets give Raila a chance. I see a truly honest Kenyan with genuine desire to turn around the country. W. Oduor

  • i like the video and the guy he is the best for my country

  • i like the video but the sound..........
