@nickisdashiz Dub is a type of music from Jamaica. It's like reggae but there is more emphasis on heavy bass and and heavy drum beat. There are usually less vocals than reggae, and a lot of vocals have echo and reverb effects. Dubstep is the combination of Dub and 2-step, which is a British genre.

@nickisdashiz As I understand it, back in the day, a 'dub' was often included as a b-side to a reggae single. The vocals were taken out and the producer had some fun with fattening the bass and putting in wacky effects and echo's, and this evolved into it's own genre. Not all of it is very accessible to modern ears, but check out King Tubby, Prince Jammy, The Aggrovators, Sly, The Upsetters etc. Get the Trojan Dub Massive collector. Jahtari is a righteously cool, modern, digital dub label.

Bare retards posting on this video. Just to clear thing's up for the internet warriors - Dub is not Dubstep, they are two different genres of music. Dubstep originated in the UK, not America, more specifically Croydon. It's roots come from old school garage music (also known as '2-Step') which is why you get that '2-Step' rhythm which you can hear in any Dubstep track.
