@Protoking actually not really... my macbook pro running the core 2 duo is faster than my dad's fujitsu lifebook i5 processor...

@jack390 At one time my 850MHz AMD machine was faster than my friends 2GHz+ Machine just because my system was better managed.

I.E. less bloatware installed, faster HDD etc.

His lifebook probably was weighed down by factory installed software, if you want your computer to be decent on a Windows PC, trash the factory installation and install from a pure windows disc without all the bloat.

I will admit, macs don't have to worry about this, but factory installed windows is horrible.

@Protoking huh... i dont know if it makes much of a difference but my computer was brand new and so was my dads... but bcuz of some problem he had to erase everything and start a clean new install of the OS... but yeah just what i observed though...

The worlds best my ass amd's Athlon 64 X2 line whitch is older than the Core 2 Duo are still on par and there older... And recent articles about the Intel Penryn show its not so hot for gaming maybe a 5% increse from C2D and AMD's Phenom X4 line are showing some promise.
