  • when was this?

  • @maosaytounge49 I think it was around the time when So Tonight That I Might See came out... but I can't really be sure.

  • love her

  • If I could make love to someone's voice, it would be Hope's.

  • i love her vocals with that chunky distr. giitar riff and d groving bass, drums& keys... hope will you marry me??? man... when are these guys going on tour????

  • @juanfula Ah... they will announce it a second before I buy a ticket for their nearest show... :-D

  • They played here in L.A. in 2009 , I was a little disapointed that they did not played this song.

  • @SkateboarderRobley You mean Mazzy Star played in LA in 2009? I thought they haven't played together for over 7 or 8 years. You probably mean Hope herself, but when I also saw her with the Warm Inventions in 2009 she didn't sing even one Mazzy Star song. No big deal, just seeing and hearing her feels like a dream.

  • @bloodySunday77 nope, they really did play, as a matter of fact, they are working on a new abbum soon that they have been working on for 15 yrs. I'm putting this song on my sk8 video somen time around.

  • @SkateboarderRobley Amazing news, I am going to look into it further... lucky you.

  • This song's more upbeat than their many slow, moody, melancholy songs (which I like). But it's nice to hear them do a little rock n roll now & then too!

  • @Bobjb999 Indeed, although sadly they have stopped playing as a band for many many years... although Hope is amazing as always with her own band.

  • sweet emotion hope !!! yr still a Star in my eye !!

  • Yes, Hope's stage performance can be called 'stoic' at best, but with her vocal and songwriting talent: she doesn't need to dance around the stage in a G-string for me to notice and appreciate her. This is a great video and I thank you for sharing it!

  • @tjinnm You're very welcome! She is very special onstage. I wish I could see her once again. Maybe a tour this winter in Europe?

  • ..she is being her self .. the song stands strong if she were a lump of coal .. she is beautiful and soft and this dream is enough for many... can each of us offer a better dream ? .. see if we can ....

  • criticizing Ms. Sandoval for just standing there like she wishes she were behind a large tree just misses the whole point of going to a concert where she sings- that is what she does.

Oh, yeah, she also provides sublime, special (fill in superlatives here) singing.

For me, If I wanted a visual treat, I'd go see a movie.

    Thanks for the post.

  • I kinda like the not-so-greatly-mixed sound. Makes me feel like I'm sitting in on one of their practice sessions.

  • she is a space doll, man, i love her. i love mazzy star. and i don't think they need to move an inch to entertain anyone... that is just how mazzy star is.

  • great music...but such a boring stage presence.....might as well put the CD on and stand, the case up on the speakers, and stare at it....bout the same amount of action

  • You must be joking. If you expect to see ACDC, Slipknot or a whole circus in action, well, please go ahead. Watching them perform is a fantastic experience that is light years ahead of the masochistic situation that you describe.

  • its like watching paint dry.....

  • Funny where you get your kicks from, but hey, who am I to judge?

  • I'm not looking for "kicks", I expect to be entertained when I spend good money and go to the bother of attending an event. Perhaps you find the dark and mysterious shadows in her mind to be entertaining, I dont. But her music is supurb and the quality of her voice is astounding. If thats all you are looking for in a performance then thats fine. I on the other hand expect and desire more from a live performance. Watching someone wallo in the own self loathing is to depressing for me.

  • Or the Doors- My eyes have seen you.

  • Hope sang this as part of her previous band Opal -- she took over when Opal's then lead singer Kendra Smith left.

  • Ι have all of Opal's vinyls but I can't remember if it was an Opal song. However, it appears on the first Mazzy Star album.

  • this song is straight out of the doors music page, you can hear it,and fade into you sounds like a song left off of all things must pass album by george harrison.

  • soooooo sexxxyyy?!!!!@!@!?!>23!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Beautiful song, I love all the songs I have heard until now from Mazzy. it's fantastic! thanks for posting this song:)

  • Yea I would like to see Hope shake some ass.

In a sixtys type groove thing.

  • Can you imagine if she would've just broke out and started busting a move, swingin her hair around, bouncing around, shaking her ass...etc. just once...But no, she just always stands there... lol...seductively.

  • I've been listening to Mazzy Star since "So Tonight That I Might See" came out. I still have it in vinyl... She was always like that, in perfect harmony with the dreamy, dark atmosphere of the band...

  • Best lead tamborine in tha biz for my money, and she's a honey.

And the F.T.W. so many lack.

Gonna love ya forever and ever Hope.

    Couldn't be any other way.

  • It should remind youof the Doors, it's a ripoff of "My Eyes Have Seen You". I like it though.

  • I wouldn't call it a "ripoff" but it certainly has some similarities. They never tried to hide their Doors influences, as well as from Syd Barrett and Velvet Underground.

  • Oh, I agree and I liked this band, and the Doors, et al. Just a bit too similar (to me) that's all. In fact when I first heard it I was ready for the Doors lyrics thinking it was a very cool cover. It's all good. Peace.

  • I hear a Kinks lick in there...

  • "You really got me"? Yes, true... I don't mind, though. Mazzy Star were always an underground band, never stealing as much as they can to stay in the Top 10...

  • you cannot help but fall in love with the haunting vocals.

Mazzy Star, one of the most underrated bands of the 90s

  • @martyswild love love love

  • *Mazzy Star* is underrated.

  • Girl you really got me now.

  • ne1 know if theres any live preformance of "into dust"

  • Reminds me of The Doors

  • Me too!!

  • The closest they came to a total rock song!! AWESOME!!!

  • AWESOME!

  • For those interested... finally got a CLOVER: COME BACK TO ME video uploaded w/old pics of the band.

  • Awesome!! I had heard of Mazzy's roots in the Paisley Underground and it really shines through in this song. This group is very special.

  • voice of a bewilttered angel

  • Just listen to that psychedelic guitar/bass/key combo.........wwooohhooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo makes me wanna, hehehehhehehhehehehhehehheheh!!!! :)

  • Yes indeed, this ROCKS!!!!

  • Thanx for this live version!! ALWAYS Hope!! "...forever and ever..."

  • this is great & i'm so happy that "into dust" is up, but can someone please put "ride it on" back up.

  • So psychedelic it could be written in the 60's.The real "pill" is her voice:so tender and distant it's almost painfull...

  • Te amo Hope...

  • amazing! thank you :)

  • i loved it.... I love Mazzy Star lot and lots...rs

  • I hate both of you....lots and lots! Durrr. :B

  • i love this song lot and lots. it was used in the best way in the movie love and a .45
