  • YOU GOT ME ADDICTED TO THIS SONG!!!!!!!!! ~thanx i really like it though :)

  • yeah cause you have been an octopus in your life and know their habitat like the back of your hand? unless you live with the octopi (which I doubt) then SHUT UP! dont talk about shit you have no idea about! stupid people!

  • I love this video and the music and where did you get your octopuse ?

  • Beautiful, what size of a tank is that

  • @PercMan14

    It's a 55 gallon tank.

  • Of course it was angry at the beer mug because it was obstructing the food.

  • HAHAHA. that was cute.. starting to get all fiesty with the beer mug eh?

  • I wants one

  • such aniamls should not be in captivivty

  • this things hacks!

  • I really want an octopus, but need to do more research and set-up work before even looking for a place to purchase them. I wouldn't exactly say they are hard pets, they just have a fair amount of maintance regarding set-up...but not much more so than my current reptiles. I think they are amazing to watch. I've read alot that octopi only live for a year, does anyone know if this is just the captivity age, or also the age in the wild?? x

  • Epic name for an epic pet!

  • what is this specie of octopus ?

  • octopussies

  • if you take out the mug to replace the food will it attack a hand?

  • dude, love your octopus. if i could, i would donate a larger cage for him so he could feel more comfortable, not saying your a bad owner. obviously you've raised it very well. wish i had one, but my parents would freak out and probably kill it.

  • where did you get him?

  • CHARGE! :

  • CHARGE! :D

  • is ur tank sealed at the top to keep it from trying to escape?

  • were u got it?

  • I must get one!Where can you by one as a pet?

  • WTF YOU CAN OCTOPUS FOR PETS??

  • thats one horny octopus, i wish i had one, i would seduce it and then lure it to my cave and have sex

  • wow this is sweet man

  • cool octopus.. do you give him challenges?

  • lal undercover xD

  • He is wonderful !!! ♥

  • very cool id like to keep one in my reef but it would wipe out all the stock, very cool though

  • when i saw how big the beer mug was, i thought the octopus shrunk!!! LOL :P

  • Have you seen the documentary called "The Future is Wild: The tentacle forest"? One of the final episode shows in 100 millions years or so time, future octopus called squibbon, will become civilised. New civilisation, it will take over human civilisation due to their high-intelligence.

  • It's cool how it attacked.

  • If anyone is interested in owning a venomous Blue Ringed Octopus, you can order one from Austin Aqua-Dome (512)442-1400 for $40.

  • @ureadmymind

Do you know how many people a year die just trying to collect that species?

    Boycott the Blue-Ring!

  • Where is a good place to buy a pet octopus?

  • cool

  • the way it moves is so different and his his head looks heavy lol

  • I do believe that octo is trying to escape his tank.

  • Octopus are very intelligent animals, they have a small brain in each leg and they feed information to the main brain. You can't just dump them in a tank and expect them to do their own thing, i should imagine because they're so smart they get bored very easily. Its such a shame they have an average life span of 1-2 years, in my opinion they should live for 70+ years its so unfortunate.

  • If they lived for 70 years I think we would then have a species too intelligent for its own good.....I cant imagine what would take place? Octopus's getting civilized??!

  • @Apidium

the way you keep them from getting bored is you put their food in something getting more and more complicated, they are very smart and seem to love the challenges. :)

  • the way i see it is that..this Oct COuld live in a better place or in a worse place or it COuld be dead..but its not and maybe not exactly living in the perfect enviroment but atleast its fed and alive. the same with humans. Some are rich and sum poor some dead and alive and If an alien had one of our kind as a pet. If still couldnt exactly give us what we need. Even if its house clothing warmth and food..then again we could be better in our polanet earth or worse in our worlds dangerous streets

  • what type of octopus is it??

  • DUDE BADASS

  • Can I raise one for food?

  • @ninjadrzoidberg

    dickhead

  • how do you make your tank into a salwater tank i have a 75 gallon tank and i want a damn octopus!!!!!

  • @Dtrovato19 they don't live long which is why they are so smart and able to learn to escape a tank so quickly.

also if they get startled your gonna need to change the inked up water

  • @feenin4u247 how long do they normally live for? 2-3 years?

  • @Dtrovato19 I'm not an expert on Octupus but from what I know because I wanted one in the past was they only live like 8 months (i could be wrong it it might be they mature at 8 months) but I no that they're life span for sure isn't that long. It's not like turtles or a dogs.

You know what's cooler than an octopus?

A cuttlefish. awesome if you have a cuttlefish or moon jelly fish tank.

  • @Dtrovato19

Have you considdered googling it or speaking to your LFS. Octopuses need constant attention and stimulation. you probably just want it as a show piece.

  • Beautiful animal but like so often is the case with these kinds of exotic aquatic pets, the tank needs to be a lot bigger with a lot more actual live rock and live coral, rather than printed backdrops & a beer mug. These animals need environments which resemble their natural homes if one expects them to survive. If you want an exotic pet, find out what it needs & set that up before you get it in the first place. It's the least you can do for taking it out of its natural home.

  • Well said! I do agree, but i believe that ALL animals deserve a nice beer mug!! =)

  • is it true that if u dont get strong enough glass the octopus can break it from its suckers?

  • @finalman25 no. but if theres a hole anywear biger then the beak it can get out. and thjey can actualy survive for some time out of the water.

  • a guy at petco told me that u have to order special custom tanks because the glass on regular tanks isnt thick enough..and they have been known to break the glass with the suckers but u dont think thats true

  • @finalman25. Would need to be prety big to break the glass, they will die in an aquarium well before then. These creatures are best left in the ocean where they have a greater chance of survival

  • ohh shit ur one of the animals should not be in cages ppl?

  • @finalman25. No im one of thoes ppl who think if i can provide long term needs before purchasing. NO ONE can provide an octopuses long term needs in an aquarium.

  • maybe if u put it in a 500 gallon tank

  • LOL

  • and is a 55 gallon big enough?? for an octopus

  • @Mavoss

    so true!

  • @Mavoss those are words to live by im gonna use that

  • got loads of questions about octopusses! but how long about do this species (whatever it is) live for, and can u handle them atall??

  • @offitcock they live about 10 months

  • @Mavoss where on earth do you get those things?!

  • @westendah

Pet octopus aren't meant to be kept with live coral. As far as i can tell this particular species isn't even tropical. If the ocopus isn't in a suitable environment it will die, plain and simple. It doesn't exactly look half dead.

  • @westendah well coral would be a bad idea but live rock and i bigger tank is a must have

  • You realize that most octopus are not compatible to live with coral and live rock? Most octopus' natural home is just plain rocks, they also like caves. The tank also looks like it is an ok size, should be 50 gal, but that octopus looks small. Getting a tank set up for an octopus is not easy and I am sure that this person looked up how before they did, if they didn't it would be dead. That octopus has a good home with a well set up tank and the owner clearly has knowledge of how to care for it.

  • @johnspikeblood comment to, westendah

  • @westendah ummm...u obviously don't know alot about keeping an octopus...this setup is just fine as coral tanks aren't suited best for them

  • where did u get it did u catch it? i want one

  • Octopuses are made of win! I want one!

  • what do you feed a put octupus?

  • money

  • I love the thing at 1:22 its like

    ....

    ...

    ATTACK THE INTRUDER

  • I want one...

  • cool video but give him live bait he wantrs to hunt so his life is a lil more exciting then being in a tank

  • very cool, and i like the name too

  • Wow, it's awesome to watch him change colour!

  • It's freaking adorable!

    I want one now. T_T

  • i cant wait to get my pet octopus..

  • I like your choice of name Admiral Nelson! would that be the same lord Nelson who was sort of like a nemisis to Napoleon and who also died in The battle of Trafalgar on his boat the Victory

  • This is a great video. You get a 10 from me. I think the Octopus is very intelligent.

It is a shame that people think that these animals are delious. This should win you an award. Hay, what is the name of Octi?

  • its name is Admiral Nelson and octopus is delicious ;)

  • What's under that glass that the octopus is trying to get?

  • Shrimp

  • well i live in michigan so idont know how popular they are around here but if there the same price im definetly gonna buy one

  • I'm sure if you call around you can find one. They sell Lion Fish here. :)

  • i want a pet octopus :(

could you buy them in the Uk?

  • oh my god thats freaking awsome where can you get one and how much do they cost

    please write back

  • I would love one of those so much

  • I live in California and I saw one for selling for $65 at a local pet store

  • Something tells me that octopus freaked out when it realized there was no freedom.

    Still, it's a cool pet.

  • that tank is huge! i bet it cost a lot

  • oooh you should see the one i got XD its a table aswell, and its see through, so you could look down to the fishes

  • wut tipe of octopus

  • does it grow like a real big octopus

  • The white spots actually indicate anxiety or worry by the way.

  • actually those white spots are the mimic octopus mimicing the substrate and rocks inside the tank.

  • omg.. its actually like spider man.. :L

  • my friend wants an octopus I was almost positive that they were illegal, but she proved me wrong now I might be an octositter

  • im not anexpert so what does it eat?

  • holy shit i want an octopus so god damn bad how do i get one?

  • sooooooo koool

  • he's awesome! what kind of octopus is that and how many gallons is your tank?

  • he turned white when he touched the glass and he ran away

  • name of music?

  • "Bittersweet Symphony" by the Verve

  • I was thinking of getting one but this would probably cause a lot of havoc in my fish tank lol. So I got a pufferfish.

  • If anyone is really, really interested in getting one...I'd highly advise you to go look at TONMO (Google it, I don't like linking). The site specialises in discussing the care of many octopus species. It's pretty awesome. :D

  • u can get your octopus from fish market, just go and buy a live one

  • 99knight--- And support a cruel industry in the business of killing what you call a pet? Great.

  • well u cant stop ppl from eating it can you?

  • Ahhh! So I've been thinking about getting one but I've done a LOT of research and they sound fascination but super expensive. How much did yours cost, equipment and everything? And is it very time consuming? The last 10 seconds of this video is the single most amazing thing I have ever seen.

  • How much do octopus usually sell for?

  • Very nice dude i was wondering of gettin an octopus in my fish tank. Wht u need to feed?

  • do u need a lisence? and how do u feed them because i used to have an axolotal and there blind to u hand feed them.

  • I don't believe you need a license. But you need basic English skills.

(Please disregard if English isn't your first language)

  • i've thought about having a octopus, they're so amazing! But it's a clever, really clever animal.Unlike a banal goldfish, It might even feel a kind of sadness in being trapped in a tanker . Go figure.

  • wow those are so cool!!!!!!! i have about three questions ok first how many gallons should the tank be? second where can you get octopuses? and last is it difficult to pull off a saltwater tank???? but lastly they are amazing animals and it would be awesome to have one!!!!!

  • do you reccomend people buying a pet octopus for beginer fish owners? i think there the best ever and i really want one but i dont want to ruin his life

  • No. They're for really advanced hobbyists, if you've kept a lot of saltwater animals before. They don't live very long, maybe 8 months at the most for a small species. The only one that even lives 8 years, the Giant Pacific Octopus, you'd need a commercial-sized aquarium, which'd run you millions of dollars to build and maintain, imo.

  • I once had three octopus! They're so cool!

  • he didnt see the mug! hahaha these are my fav animals!!!!!!!!!!

  • nice name and nice octopus

  • Cool video. But your octopus' name is not nearly as cool as my octo's name.

  • wow i'd be afraid it would escape and kill me in my sleep

  • Oh my god what a cutie!

  • magnificent creature it is. but what if they eject ink? the tank might get filthy.

  • Oh my gosh, such a cool octopus! Cute name too!

You should have showed him eating the shrimp though.

    5 stars.

    -Chris

  • they move scary but they are cute!!!

  • aww, i love octopi, i want one so bad :(

whats the name of the song?

  • The song is "Bitter Sweet Symphony" by THE VERVE it is on the album titled "Urban Hymns"

Get the album its fantastic !!

  • those guys dont get any money from that song cause they took it from the beatles

  • I think it was the Rolling Stones

  • Yeah, it's the Stones, not the Beatles.

There's a background sampler that's taken from some Stones song that they didn't get permission for so Mick Jagger sued and won the rights to every penny ever made on Bittersweet Symphony.

  • That is so cool. Too bad there so difficult to keep and only live like a year max.

  • awesome i just got my octopus!

  • lol.....I live near San Fransisco, and I'm gonna get one of those from a tide pool!

  • Dude, that puss is sweet. How big is that tank?

  • how much do they cost?

  • god i would love to have a pet octopus

  • What a cool name for an octopus.

  • We are thinking about getting an octupus for our tank. how big is your tank/the octupus?? How much room do they need? Also, I heard that they sometimes get frightened and can ink within the tank killing themselves/tank mates...is this true?

  • DUDE, that thing has the coolest name ever, Admiral Nelson !!! :D

  • that sucks they only live for like 3 years at best in aquaria =/

  • nice, but what size tank is that, and how big will it get?

  • It is a 55 gal, they dont get much bigger than him

  • I have a pet squid who ate my pet octipus *sniff* poor Gel :(

  • i live in sweden but i want a octopus bimacoludies do you think i can order 1 frome sweden ? :/

  • These make the most amazing pets. Mine only came with 5 arms, so her name is Cincopus. I added a couple damsels to the tank to add some life, not really the end of the world if she is able to pull one down. Nice post, I hope all goes well with your pet.

  • if i had a pet octopus, i would name it Cthulhu

  • Hehe they are a bit small to depict "extreme horror or evil", but I like it!

  • so freaking cool!

i want one so bad but i just can't seem to find any at any petstore :/ ..hmm.

  • very nice octo i put in a order for a octo at 2 fish stores hopefully one comes in soon

  • u have to keeps these alone right without other fish?

  • Yeah they will eat your fish! They will find s way to eat any type you put in

  • ^_^ Great octo! Are they really hard to keep? I've heard inking can be a problem and suffocate them in such a small environment. What kind is that one?

  • They are not hard to keep as long as your tank is clean. They will try to escape whatever tank you put them in so you must block the exits! If they ink you have to replace most of their water, but it is my friends Octo so I don't know the species. Good luck!

  • have it ever escape before lol.

  • its legal to own any animal out the ocean u can get lol just some arent suitable for captivity, no correction LOTS arent suitable for captivity

  • where the hell do u buy octopuses i love them i dintnt know it was legal to own 1!!!

  • i know where do you get one?

  • omg thats crazy
