I have to admit, though: Your book reminded me of the Myth series of books by Robert Asprin. Did those books influence your writing?
You reminded me a lot of myself. I used to play AD&D in the late 80's. I miss those days. If you have time, try the "Baldur's Gate" series of games. They are based on AD&D rules and are just awesome games.
