hey man bad ride you got there i got 85 camaro 5 speed with a built 350 with balanced crank 6.25 inch crowler rods JE flat tops .30 over luanti solid flat tappet cam roller rockers 69 model 300hp double hump heads edelbrock intake holley 670 street avenger carb street fire ignition box and distributor headers been looking to get 1 of the eazy kits would it help my gas miles and give me more horses and and how much you get it for
@BigAl123654 You can run it with out the hand held. In keep it handy to monitor engine temp, a/f ratios, rpms etc. You can also make adjustments through the hand held on the fly.
well had to send my system back in They have had it for over a week but they think they found a bad inj. or clogged which if so then i will replace my tank. I had it cleaned but iam still getting stuff in my filter. I had to go with the intank pump.
Thanks, yes that was my main concern. Once I hit 1100 RMP's I am at 10" but in gear at an idle is 3". Yes I went a little crazy with the setup but it runs great besides it burning at 10/1 AFR
So you have ran it for a while, you still love it? Any problems? How much vacuum does the fuel pres. regulator need? Does anything else need vacuum. The reason I am asking is in gear I only have 3 lbs. My Holley is dumping fuel cruising because I had to over jet, no power valves would work right, not even the 2.5 or 1. So I am looking hard at this system. Do you see it giving me a problem because of low vacuum and a big cam?
It sat since late last October. I got in it last weekend and hit the key and it fired right up and its been running great. This will be my second summer on bith my cars and no real problems to speak of. My TPS broke on the Camaro but all I needed was a new one and then it was good. As far as vacuum goes, I have maybe 15" in the Camaro and less than tem in my Beaumont and both run fine. It senses load from the vacuum and I thing the "learning" feature will compensate for low vacuum.
yes I am using the master kit in both my cars. It is noisy in the Camaro but only after driving it for a while and seems to be worse in hotter ambient temps. I can't hear it in my Beaumont though. Neither loose pressure.
Must be a good set up for you to have it in 2 cars! I didnt even realize the Beaumont was yours.. I just have a few more questions... Where did you end up mounting the fuel regulator? Do you hook up fuel to one fuel rail or both? Also, on the fuel rail, does it appear that you can add a steel line rather than running rubber line?
@JFRSTR10 I really like the EZ EFI, esp the tunnel ram set up. I bought a tunnel ram for the Camaro too so I'll be doing that one this spring some time. As far as as the regulator goes I have it mounted on the fire wall on both cars. The fuel line goes into the one fuel rail (there are two) and the return cone from the other rail to the regulator. You could easily use steel tubing for the fuel line , just need the right fittings.
I would definitely do it again. I will never use a carb after using EZ EFI. However, if I had to do it all over again I would go with the dual quad set up on a tunnel ram. I actually going that route as I just bought a tunnel ram for this engine.
Hi there, thats a real nice job youve done there!Im thinking of using one of these or a holley projection. But im thinking that this FAST set up is better.just as a matter of interest did you notice any improved gas mileage?Ive read some contradictory and i guess wild claims on the holley set up!
@PutrifyingEagor --Thanks, I went from about 18 mpg to 22.5 mpg with the EZ efi on this car. My other car didn't see that much of an improvement as I had the carb set up better. It all depends on how rich or lean the carb is so you may or may not see any difference. The nice thing with the EZ is you can adjust a/f ratios on the fly.
Hellyeah cool vid, looked like fun. It sure looks like that Camaro gets up and goes. I made the same plate for my firewall when I deleted my heater. I just used pop-rivets. Anyways, I was wondering what you did with your emissions crap. Is your Camaro a daily driver like my 85 C10 shortbed? I'm not sure if I can remove my emissions junk, even though the EZ-EFI is cleaner burning...will I still pass an emissions inspection??
Great job man, who besides who gives a shit what the car looks like, if your like me then the car should be alllll business! How much was the EFI FAST set up? Just wondering, thinking about getting the same for mine.
Hey just wanted to say you did a nice job! If you ever decide you want heat though there is a better spot to route media cable. I just started the install process after watching your post & almost went the heater eliminate route. I found a grommet behind & below the brake booster not where wires go through or where the fuse box mounts but a little lower and to the left. Grommet is kind of at an angle. Pull grommet & position a flash light at it. Pull plastic cover behind pedals & you'll see it!
Yeah I don't blame you at all! I had my heater core go years ago and like you said why have heat for a summer only car! I do have a question for you though...how did you mount the hand held? I seen the plate you made to attach it to, but looking at the back of mine it looks just as they call it a hand held. Thanks!

So do u have to run with the hand held module in the car, you cannot run without it present and hooked up??

Just curious... Are you using the master kit with the fuel pump? If so, is the pump very noisy?

If you were to do this over again today, would you buy the same kit or something different? Thanks for sharing!

how do u like the EZ efi? is the gas really snappy/responsive?

@bbsombs -throttle response is instant and noticeably better than a carb.

how much horsepower does it add?

@79ztwenty8 hard to say as I don't have back to back dyno tests

No emissions testing here where I live. Good question to post on the FAST tech forum though.

good tip. I actually tossed the heater as the fan didn't work and the heater was leaking a bit. Also lost a bit of weight too!

I put velcro tape on the hand held and on the mounting plate...so far so good!
