  • Since when was cooking an illegitimate profession?

  • First , no SVS alum would ever work for this guy. Second, as a SVS grad who went on to higher education, and worked in TV, the whole 'deadlines and commitments ' arguement is baloney. Why? SVS grads for the most part have been empowered to do what we love. I loved working in TV, and I love what I do now making video games. I have my own issues with the SVS system looking back, but you can get an education there, it is just up to the student.

  • I never saw O'Reilly as a jerk but he's proven me wrong. The public school system has done more damage than good to the kids in our society. And Bill "higher learning" is more then just going to an ivy league school, higher learning is anything education that leads a child to pursue their future career.

  • "I'M SUCCESSFUL, CAUSE I'MMMMMMMMM THE BEST." lol

  • and just what if both are right in someway?

I believe sudbury schools can foster creative succesful adults. And at the same time a lot of creative and succesfull people didn't attend a school like that.

I'd say we should have the freedom to choose the education we want.

  • If Bill O-Reilly is successful, please dear God let me fail miserably.

  • i went to Sudbury Valley School for 2 years. We rock and we do well in everything we want to do.

  • i go to this school, and i know i am going to be a very successful adult. Danny Greenberg is a hero. go to this school for a week, and you will be in love with it.

  • Bill wants to be right, SO BAD. It is tragic that someone would let their bias cloud their judgment to the detriment of children. Jesus washed the disciples feet. He did it to teach humility, because in its absence, we can let our arrogance and pride attach us to ludicrous ideas that harm our most innocent.

Education DEMANDS careful consideration. Bill's arrogance has let him be content with a topical self-justification, which he will blindly consider research and critical thought. Lazy.

  • at around 2:49 thats not true and totally horrible.

  • go danny :D

  • I think they should hand O'Rielly a biology test on the material he was *forced* to learn and see how much knowledge of the subject the retained.

  • haha so true! what a prick. this guy sits here as pompous as can be with his "i'm a product of the system and i am smarter than any of your kids will ever grow up to be" (which he pretty much stated exactly). what a total ass.

  • I always loved the way Bill brushes off comments about the issue- 'Sumerhill' etc. as if he knows the subject well when he has blatantly had researchers on it.

  • wrecked o reilly

  • bill your a joke haha

  • that o'reilly guy is quite rude. he's interrupting mr greenberg all the time. sudbury valley is amazing!

  • You're my hero, Dan. The world (and Mr. O'Reilly) could learn so much from our kids. If only we had enough respect to hear and see them. And then we must trust them to know what they need for themselves.

  • It's a shame the only way a Dan Greenberg can get a venue is via demagogue angry-dad acts.

  • Comment removed

  • Bill O' Reilly is ridiculous. No Sudbury Valley student would want to work for Bill, he's a stuck up, uneducated, closed-minded member of this society. It's people like him that cause our society to continue making the mistakes of the past. Dr. Greenberg is a genius, and has made more progress in the educational system than any other figure in the past 50 years.

  • John Dewey died almost exactly 50 years ago. i'm guessing that your choice of the time span of 50 years was not at all coincidental, eh? :P if this is the case, i completely agree :D

  • Exactly :]

  • :D :D
