lol BMT is 8.5 weeks long now. It's because the B.E.A.S.T was added as well as more classes. As for the MTIs you should respect them. You shouldn't talk back or disrespect them because they've earned their rank and position as leaders. I know they may say things that you make take offense to but just remember it's all apart of the training. 331st! Huah Wolfpack!
This guy seems much bigger and badder in person. I was at the 320th. That's why I remember him. He's mean. I'm not sure if it was him or the other blue rope, chewed me out for something, can't remember. And at top of his lungs how he was going to cut me up in little pieces and barrie me in the PT field, report me AWOL and asked the flight if they'd mind LOL! "no sir" I felt about 1" tall LOL! 1 sec I thought he was going to too! LOL! They get graphic LOL! But it gets better as weeks go.
MSgt. Bell isn't so tough as a sect. sup, I had him last year. He is really cocky though. But, shit, if I had as many awards and recognitions as he did, I would be too. He was really humble and chill with us, until we fucked up.
EC is cake once you get the hang of it. One thing your TI will appreciate is if you are confident and cool. I remember trainee Chapman suggesting how to do something more efficiently to our TI, who just happened to barely receive his hat. He yelled, "Chapman, are you trying to correct me?" With calm, collective, and confidence replied, "No, sir. All I am saying is (this) (this) (that)." Oh yeah, if you do get a blue rope for a chief instructor be thankful and ask a lot of relevant questions.
This place is set up like a psycho ward in a loony hospital. It echoes like a tomb. There is no such thing as a TI. Ever. This is so bogus USAF is discredited. This stuns the imagination. FUBAR.
The thing about the TI's that always got me nervous was hearing the *clicking* sound of their boot heel taps on the pavement. It was like hearing the thunder before the lightning. The ones that didn't wear the taps were the ones to really watch out for though because you couldn't hear them coming. All of a sudden you get one of them screaming in your ear out of nowhere and you just about evacuate your bladder.
quit getting an orgasm your the worst instructor and your madd ugly and retarded too god this man is always getting an wetting staanding near people plus orgasm lol
@Parhamzl But that makes it too predictable. Our MTIs will strike when you would oftentimes expect it the least. You can consider it "Flash-Frying", as opposed to just having the oven hot all the time, although the MTIs will ease off some in the latter days of training.
The EC hit brought back memories hahaha. The Air Force was awesome. If any of you are considering joining the military, the Air Force is the way to go in my opinion, but all the branches are great! USA!!!! I still get chills when I think about my MTI unlocking the dormitory door. The rattling of the keys!!!
Okay, I am sick of reading anti-military liberal bullshit from people on military pages. These instructors are supposed to prepare trainees for stressful situations and make them tougher. Men and women in the armed forces deserve our respect. So if you have any anti-military comments, take it to a hippie page! But show some respect for the people defending you and this country!!!
@N1NJ4F15H No he's not.. U have your beliefs and I have mine.. But I would give life and limb for my country, and I'm sure u would as well so that's really all that matters..
there is something very sick about it....and this yelling....if the police would come to ur house because of someone yelling at his spouse, because of "training", would the police buy the excuse...
@YAHWEHisperfect It's really hard for those who haven't been there to understand. I've explained my BMT experiences (years ago!) to some of my psychology colleagues...and the only ones who "get it" are those who have gone through any of the Services' basic training. That said, no way could I have been a TI.
First of all, this is not mentoring and influincing. This is causing someone serious psychological problems. And all that these kids are learning is how to be abusive people.
@elamcrosley14 You're half right. It's mentoring and influencing. They are molding the future leaders of the Air Force: the same leaders that are supporting, securing, saving, and fighting for our freedom. I have the highest respect for those that join the military, and fight for our country as one of the great branches the U.S. has to offer. Oorah to my fellow Marines, Soldiers, Airmen, and Seamen. - SSgt C.C.
@elamcrosley14 I'm a psychology student so I see a bit of what you're coming from, but having been to AF BMT (years ago!) I know there is a purpose to it...partly to weed out those who shouldn't be there. The military doesn't want people who will buckle if bullets start flying. TI's are like anyone else, some are really good, "trainer" types, tough but fair, others are just jerks. Luck of the draw as to which you get.
Af basic training was stupid, No use for it! And it DOES NOT instill Discipline. Should run AF like a corporation Here is your job do it right or Go Away!
this guy's at the air force academy now. he's a MSgt too. he's easily the scariest individual at USAFA. at least the scariest since my own TI when i was at lackland.
I am a former blue rope instructor and if you've never had one, you don't have a clue what it takes to get one. You haven't seen competition until you take the best airmen in the service, put them into the same career and then dangle a carrot like a blue rope in front of them. The only people that knock blue ropes are those that don't stand a snowball's chance in hell of ever receiving one.
I remember one time I forgot to announce "Gentleman entering the dorm" before my TI walked in and he slammed the door in my face walked in and made me write the EC rules 20 times.
Do you have a clue what youre talking about. Just cause you put SSgt doesnt mean you just get your 7-level. You have to go through upgrade training (CDC's,OJT) before you get it. Even after you complete those things you still have to have a certain time in upgrade training.
You have your info mixed up. You do NOT test for your 7-level when you test for staff. When you test for staff you test on general air force knowledge as well as your job. IF you make staff THEN you are put in upgrade training for your 7-level. AFTER, you complete your cdc's and on the job training and after you have passed your 7-level end of course exam, then you are put in for your 7-level upgrade. I KNOW this because I'm a 7-level and a Staff Sergeant and Im ACTUALLY IN THE AIR FORCE!! GOD!
Lol. No....you dont. I guess you do it different than the rest of the Air Force. No where have I ever heard that during your WAPS test. You take your 7-level end of course exam. That makes NO sence at all. They dont even give you your test material till after you find out you have a line number. If what you are sayin is true, how the hell can you go in to test for staff AND your 7-level when you dont even have your CDC's yet? BULLSHIT! Also you spelled Senior Airman wrong.

short lived? yeah right. a dude in my bay had to laugh in the stairwell until chow. if he stopped he would get yelled at and have to do push-ups. he laughed for hours. he wasn't allowed to stop. i didn't hear him utter another word until the 5th week of training. he also mentioned during graduation that he had trouble pooping.

He Sucks!...Lackland has closed 75% of all the dorms, back in 89 Lackland was full capacity....blue ropes back then were hard drinking, smoking, crusty old Vietnam TIs...now adays the TIs would never go against an officer, bunch of punks..my TI punched our OIC cuz he was a young LT trying to be tough..thats when I knew th AF was bad ass...i bet they dont throw garbage cans up against the walls to wake you up....man, they had to call the SPs to drag him out.he was BAD ASS! but he always returned
God its been nearly 25 years since I went through BMTS, I've been to hell and back numerous times, but a TI at the barracks door still sends shivers down my spine!
jesus will save world, god bless the service, all service personel, may all their dreams come to pass and god's love rain in every heart. GOD BLESS AMERICA
I'm planning to join the military on my 21st birthday, and it doesn't look that bad. But I know it is worse. The thought of showering naked with other guys just disgust me and push me back from not joining.. But I'll think about it. Thanks for the video.
you don't have to worry bout the whole showering thing cuz seriously .. you barely have any time to shower plus your being yelled at so no one is really guna have time to think bout looking around or feeling shy or anythng other than gettin as clean as you could get
bless you all soldiers , bothers and protectors of nation, may any and all of your dreams come and bless you who fight with strength of all America and honor
bless you all soldiers , bothers and protectors of nation, may any and all of your dreams come and bless you who fight with strength of all America and honor
Hey dumbass, this is a video made for the news. Obviously it's not the same thing as the real deal. It's pretty obvious the guy had to hold back for the camera. Anyone who's been there would know and agree with me. So shut the hell up, asshole.
you try taking 52 high school graduates with no life direction whatsoever and turning them into one cohesive unit. Good luck.
I'll be honest, I don't want some undisciplined punk working with me on the flightline in the middle east or ANYWHERE in the world for that matter. I expect a well trained professional on my team and that's how we do it. Stop judging our nation and do something that might help for a change.
Mental abusement... As an A1C, I say its not mental abuse. its to get us physical and mentally ready for the combat zone. Hell, all military branches do it. We'll skip the physical part. Now tell me ... if you can't mentally handle a guy shouting bad words at you at point blank, then what are the chances that you can mentally handle bullets flying at you? Bullets and words fly at you, but the very big difference is that bullets kill, words don't. So think about that.
@troyhoward15 alright, just because I am tired of receiving bullshit responses... It is understandable the thick skin that an instructor may want to instill on these trainees, & how they learn to tolerate the untolerable, but I was still quite taken aback by the harshness some of these trainees encountered, clearly not what I expected. So if these guy's intent is to break them down (mental abuse) for their own future betterment, then so be it. Respect to those who Had, Will, and Are serving.
@MyfavoriteDessert Dude, I went through AF BMT 3 years ago, and in my opinion it should be a little bit more difficult if anything. If you can't take somebody yelling at you, you do not belong in the military. Period. Besides, the yelling is funny sometimes in retrospect. And it's not even the worst part, anyway! The worst part by far is Reveille. People should be treated with respect in operational military, but in BMT or Tech School, they are trying to weed out the dirtbags.
Your a fucking idiot. A few months of adversity and training does not amount to brainwashing. Its really easy for you sit on your high horse but I doubt you've ever had to really fight for anything in your life. Fortunately for you there are those who are willing to do it for you, despite your blissful ignorance
shut the hell up u liberal fuck if u dont like the Military than dont watch videos about the military and leave stupid ass comments. If i ever saw u in public ill kick ur ass.
not true... when i was going through tech school there was a female airman in my squadron who was 17 years old at the time of entry into BMT and still was during tech school.
You can join at the age of 17 with a parents consent. You will have to wait until the age of 18 and finish school before you can start your training. It's actually pretty cool because if you join at the age of 17 and sign a three year contract, you will scratch of a whole year before you're training even starts.

I'm planning to join the military on my 21st birthday, and it doesn't look that bad. But I know it is worse. The thought of showering naked with other guys just disgust me and push me back from not joining.. But I'll think about it. Thanks for the video.
lilcrazyaznboy 2 years ago
You ain't going to have time to worry about the other naked guys, you will be worrying about getting the hell showered.
kennethgoode2112 2 years ago 2
you don't have to worry bout the whole showering thing cuz seriously .. you barely have any time to shower plus your being yelled at so no one is really guna have time to think bout looking around or feeling shy or anythng other than gettin as clean as you could get

Hey dumbass, this is a video made for the news. Obviously it's not the same thing as the real deal. It's pretty obvious the guy had to hold back for the camera. Anyone who's been there would know and agree with me. So shut the hell up, asshole.

.....through mental abuse? It's amazing what one has to go through to protect a nation...tsss...more like protecting oneself
MyfavoriteDessert 2 years ago
Are you kidding me?
you try taking 52 high school graduates with no life direction whatsoever and turning them into one cohesive unit. Good luck.
I'll be honest, I don't want some undisciplined punk working with me on the flightline in the middle east or ANYWHERE in the world for that matter. I expect a well trained professional on my team and that's how we do it. Stop judging our nation and do something that might help for a change.

Good evening SSgt N.O., I am A1C A.P., and I'd just like to say thanks to the training I got in those 8 1/2 weeks I now have a purpose in life.
:)
WCdragoninja 2 years ago 2
Mental abusement... As an A1C, I say its not mental abuse. its to get us physical and mentally ready for the combat zone. Hell, all military branches do it. We'll skip the physical part. Now tell me ... if you can't mentally handle a guy shouting bad words at you at point blank, then what are the chances that you can mentally handle bullets flying at you? Bullets and words fly at you, but the very big difference is that bullets kill, words don't. So think about that.
troyhoward15 2 years ago 2
@troyhoward15 alright, just because I am tired of receiving bullshit responses... It is understandable the thick skin that an instructor may want to instill on these trainees, & how they learn to tolerate the untolerable, but I was still quite taken aback by the harshness some of these trainees encountered, clearly not what I expected. So if these guy's intent is to break them down (mental abuse) for their own future betterment, then so be it. Respect to those who Had, Will, and Are serving.
MyfavoriteDessert 1 year ago
@MyfavoriteDessert Dude, I went through AF BMT 3 years ago, and in my opinion it should be a little bit more difficult if anything. If you can't take somebody yelling at you, you do not belong in the military. Period. Besides, the yelling is funny sometimes in retrospect. And it's not even the worst part, anyway! The worst part by far is Reveille. People should be treated with respect in operational military, but in BMT or Tech School, they are trying to weed out the dirtbags.
OrangeVSPorridge 9 months ago
@MyfavoriteDessert bmt is designed to stress one to their max and make them pay excruciating attention to detail.

gotta love the brainwashing!
USMilitaryKillsKids 2 years ago
Your a fucking idiot. A few months of adversity and training does not amount to brainwashing. Its really easy for you sit on your high horse but I doubt you've ever had to really fight for anything in your life. Fortunately for you there are those who are willing to do it for you, despite your blissful ignorance

ApocTank66 is right. An airmen in tech with me was only 17. Has to be graduated and parent consent. But can still go in when 17 and 1 day.
per AFI 36 series
TheTbsaok 2 years ago
not true... when i was going through tech school there was a female airman in my squadron who was 17 years old at the time of entry into BMT and still was during tech school.
ApocTank66 2 years ago
You can join at the age of 17 with a parents consent. You will have to wait until the age of 18 and finish school before you can start your training. It's actually pretty cool because if you join at the age of 17 and sign a three year contract, you will scratch of a whole year before you're training even starts.

laboriquee 2 years ago
I think you can join younger with parental consent. But not any younger than 17...I think.
adamjohnwest 2 years ago 2
NAh, you can sign all the papers with consent at 17, but you CANNOT got to basic til your 18
