epic fail. it's not whom plays the music, because the names only become big and known in genres for the music they play. many artists play different types of genres, whatever gets them more money usually becomes their concentration. but there are those who explore into various genres. in the end, its all about the music, the sound, the style, the way people hear it, the way the producer wants it heard, etc. music is music, it always will be. names wouldn't be big names without music.

you should try armin van buuren's a state of trance or anjunabeats. they are pretty popular in europe, but they play all the good underground progressive electronica style music, and they keep them in good circulation for those whom choose to listen to it. in america, ASOT, anjunabeats, even ministry of sound are basically unheard of. USA is the only major country i know of that still hasn't accepted the beauty of progressive trance, deep house, etc., into mainstream... a shame, really.
