  • @fina15555 your right ^^

  • yes, this is far off w/the scenes, i agree, I'm not watching it, just listening...u can still get the point of the movie or i guess u can just go find it somewhere else, i don't c why every1 is so pissed off abt it...geez, calm down

  • im surprised i made it this far into this film, it it terrible lol

  • The movie, Brave New World, with Bud Cort, is a better version and it's more like the Book.

  • Have your brother do his own book report. Your not doing him any favors.

  • instead of a brave new world movie remake, they should just make Island into a movie, huxleys ideas were alot more defined and i found it to be more entertaing story wise

  • Technically Huxley was saying that the American way of doing things is bad for Britain in the same way that Orwell was describing the Russian system as bad. What Huxley was trying to say was that when people are left to themselves. They will only care about crap. It is COMPLETELY true. We do drugs. We have sex without any care about love or family. The worst part is that all we care about is materialistic possessions. Huxley is right. Welcome to the Brave New World.

  • I like the 1980 TV version better.

  • this is worse than those chinese movies as far as the sound and video!!!!!

  • @3:11

  • That dude in all that orange is like a white snoop doff.......and wats with the lagging gosh

  • The reason why the movie is so far off the book is because of the elitists that funded the movie are more than likely Bilderburg new world order neo cons whose regime seems to draw parallels to the original and are not wanting to stir the "savages"

  • the essense of the book remains, just the cultural setting / background details have changed thats all.

  • The best thing about this B movie is Bernard Marx's jacket!

I d like to think that by making the savages into trailer park have-nots they were making some comment about how the Brave New World is in fact the modern day, but I doubt thats what they intended. It just ended up half assed after they spent all the budget on designer clothes.

  • My god imagine what a wonderful world this would be if everyone was the same and there was order

  • Spock in The Tropicana? When do Michael Corleone and Fredo arrive? :D, it's bad idea to invest in cuban casinos, there is a Fidel stirring people up...

  • is the guy in orange mustapha mond????......what's he wearing????

  • They f@cked up every premise of the story. F@ck hollywood :-(

  • Huxley would be spinning in his grave if he saw this movie....

  • This movie IS bad. But, the 1980 one is WAY better. Much more on target with the book.

  • @pinkjesus1 wich 1980 one? you mean George Orwell's book 1984?

  • @Jaeyoung13 No, not his book, aldous huxley's book. There is a movie made in 1980, brave new world that's more accurate than the 1998 version.

  • @pinkjesus1 then I get it, thanks ^.^

  • i have a book report due on this book and the movie isnt helping XD grrrrrr

  • This movie suuuuuuuuuuuucks!!!!!!

I don't read books so I really want to like it but this movie just buhlows!

And what the hell is wrong with the audio and video being off?

    chum-py.

    wanna watch a good movie?

watch endgame by alex jones on youtube.

    its pretty dope.

  • we live in fuckin brave new 1984 surrounded by clones and shapeshifters fuck THAT. i hate this place and anyone down with big brother...this fuckin movie sucks. its got the dude from blank check in it hahaha now THATS A DOPE MOVIE.

  • what a bad movie

the book was MUCH MUCH MUCH better!

  • This movie is a ripoff of Crocodile Dundee

  • omg! where are the dirty caves and the disgusting clothes and the blood rituals? it's terrible. that's not brave new world. bernard is much too handsome and lenina, wasnt she a blond, who wore all the time green?? god, such a deep in meaning book and it has been totally destroyed

  • the movie is soo bad my phantasy is much more better lol

  • this movie sucks so bad

  • The ASS at 3:16 is incredible.

  • 6:44 genetics have nothing to do with destiny. BRAVO. Fuck eugenics and the Nazis. They tried it once before and look where they ended up.

  • hehehe this is what the Venus Project would end up like.

    posessive (selfish) behaviour banned.

scientists ruling the world (engineering everyone else)

  • You don't need another social model to bring this about, its ALREADY HERE. Nice try you disinfo mole.

  • i think the moral of the story is.. what ever system you give human beings, they will always fuck it up.

we already tried communism in eastern europe. those promising resource sharing just establish themselves as new elite with new control structure.

only way to break free of control structures is self-reliance.. dont become dependant on anyone elses power, and reduce your numbers, concentrate in fewer, free-er offspring (even zero for personal freedom hehe :) )

  • @walter0bz After Obama became president gun sales in the USA skyrocketed, the price of precious metals especially gold soared. Many Americans are not going to take the bullshit that is coming.

  • @nugsoth7 Well it has not affected everyone yet and there will be economic and political turmoil, possibly another civil war in the USA before it happens.

  • you dont, you cant "enlighten someone" they have to want it for themselves

and yeah Ive read all that 60's stuff

  • uh I think the majority of huxley fans are all too well aware of it

you have a bit of an alpha attitude going on there

  • At 4:47, looks like Linda is going the way of Marilyn Monroe.

  • bad timing :P, the picture comes before the sound....

  • @Giflar YouTube does that on purpose with movies.

  • the text and ado are way off

  • ugh, horrible voice lag

  • were there homosexuals in this brave new world ?

  • No because the conditioning eliminates Homosexuality in all and any forms.

Maybe there are a few, but I bet they keep to themselves (secret gay world state network? lol) or become Heterosexuals.

  • on the other hand sexuality was non productive which may remove all taboos ...

  • Apparently there are...

  • touché

  • Well, this is what my teacher told me. She said to read "VERY carefully" because he suggests it.

I haven't found it anywhere in the book, though. But I believe her, she's a literary genius.

  • I read the book very recently and in the first couple of chapters I think Lenina is saying to her students something like how in the old times there were mothers and fathers, there was no such thing as erotic play, and can you believe that even homosexuality was forbidden. At which point everyone gasps. Something like that.

  • No, Lenina doesn't mention homosexuality.

In fact Lenina isn't even talking to the students in the beginning of the book, it starts off with the director then Mustapha Mond.

  • Your right. Here's the actual passage. The group are in the garden with the D.H.C. I believe:

He let out the amazing truth. For a very long period before the time of Our Ford, and even for some generations afterwards, erotic play between children had been regarded as abnormal (there was a roar of laughter); and not only abnormal, actually immoral (no!): and had therefore been rigorously suppressed.

  • A look of astonished incredulity appeared on the faces of his listeners. Poor little kids not allowed to amuse themselves? They could not believe it.

"Even adolescents," the D.H.C. was saying, "even adolescents like yourselves "

    "Not possible!"

"Barring a little surreptitious auto-erotism and homosexualityabsolutely nothing."

    "Nothing?"

"In most cases, till they were over twenty years old."

  • "Twenty years old?" echoed the students in a chorus of loud disbelief.

"Twenty," the Director repeated. "I told you that you'd find it incredible."

I thought it was Lenina because of the movie, plus she appears in the same chapter. (Chapter 3)

Also since the main focus is pleasure and everyone being happy it stands to reason that since people do derive pleasure from homosexual relations it probably does happen in this world. Also they have orgies.

  • So that's where homosexuality is mentioned... thanks for bringing that up! I was wondering where that was.

  • someone should upload the other version

  • You can find 1980 version on the goolge watch.

  • True... John was in fact the controllers son... The dramatisation does not do the book justice, but it is worth a looksee

  • it was the directors son

  • Man this movie sux...

in the book they said "praise Ford" all the time, and john was not half indian, he was full Alpha, and he was an outcast on the reservation just like bernard was an outcast in society for being short, and that drove the story...their feelings of individuality...this is just another example of hollywood stearing people away from the real truth with a bunch of trendy bullshit! brave new world was ment to scare the crap out of people! it was a "worst case senario"

    this sucks

  • watch the 1980's version a bit odd but fits the book much better

  • this movie is not good at all and horribly off from huxleys book

  • Only if the sound did not contradict with the scene, I would have enjoyed watching it... stupid luck...

  • This movie is so far off from the book it is hard to watch it. They were all supposed to be British, first off. The helicopter never crashed, the mother was fat missing teeth. Savages are supposed to be very indian like, not punk kids. John only had the Shakespeare book, he was way hotter than the mullet braid guy... The deltas were deformed, Bernard was supposed to be short and outcast.... That is just a start. Man, I thought this would be good, but it is so distracting.

  • so do u rekon its worth watching the movie if ive read the book?

  • i've read the book as well. and i have to do a report so i figured if i watched the movie, it'd help makke more sense. It's nothing like the book. it's kind of interesting though

  • @rosllow just a few questionsa nd remarks. first, what was or is you are when you read this? and also, i think they didnt want to put native americans because it might be classified as racist or something. also i think they made bernard handsome because.. well, the main character usually IS handsome. they also might have wanted to put the kids as punks to make the movie more "relateable." i dont know. i also thought that they were a lot younger...

  • @rosllow totally agree, have the makers of the movie even read the book?

  • @rosllow I agree... I don't like this movie at all! :(

  • @rosllow i kow ur post is like 2 years old but hopfully u still get this i am suposed to be reading the novel in class, i unfourtunalty havent read it yet and decided to watch this is there any other key events that are in the novel that are not in this movie

  • @offspringfan32 THIS MOVIE IS SOO OFF THE BOOK BEWARE

  • @rosllow Tim Guinee did a great job being John. Anyways the braid was cut off. You are right about the rest of it though. If I had read the book before I watched this movie I would of hated it.

  • @rosllow the movie isn't supposed to be exactly like the book, otherwise it'd be pointless to watch it. Besides, I'm rather interested to see our interpretation of Huxley's book in our modern perspective.

  • @rosllow i totally agree with u i mean ive read it and this whole thing is stupid if u read the book.

  • @rosllow damn Is it really that far off? I am doing my brothers book report and if this movie is too far off I might not get a good grade.

  • some people got tiredd of watching and commenting, but i keep on because i love this book

  • if you loved the book, you'd have stopped watching by now -.-"

  • you know this movie is useful. It makes people who didn't read the book curious about it.

  • No it doesn't, it makes the people who haven't read it lose an excessive amount of braincells because of how poorly made this move really is. It's a horrible interpretation, this seriously is nothing like the book. If you have half a mind to just read the book and then I suggest you not waste your time with this kind of stuff in the future. No insult to you, but this movie seems to be filmed by the same kind of people who have no idea what it's about because they haven't read it.

  • Yes it does, and I believe you are too radical about it, just because you have read the book. But if you only think many people - not of anglosaxon culture- may not have read the book, you'll see it's useful to have a movie. It personally made me curious about the book...and if i hadn't seen some scenes i would have postponed its reading.

You never know what is the result of things. Better doing things than not.
