This is better than the album version. Tuxedomoon was not no wave, which was just another media created term anyway. Tuxedomoon was actually making well-crafted music, not just making an anti-music art statement. Writing a good conventional song is always more difficult than noise art.
Just watched downtown 81. I've been into no wave for a bit. Quite the underrated art movement. Dna, suicide, ,and the like are so influential. It's a shame they aren't popular today and the I IV V progression pop bands from the day are remembered instead.
this is the truth...of any kind of creating new stuff...not the motherfucking rap or waht u kids are maybe thinking of music....these ones are the ones.....not everytime repeating themselves....creating new...what u dont wanna to be part of....INSHIOR
hey man hahahahahahahahaha u can never get out of reach, shit i do not care about what you say, i just love pissing u off, man i go off pissing everybody else, ur just another worthless punk i like to make fun of :)
so dicksucker, hows it been? now that u know u cant get out of my reach, r u finally growing your dick hair, or in that case, your dick?
Frequent mistake. This movie stars Basquiat, y'know, from when he was still alive. Downtown 81, as somebody else said. Unlike Basquiat, from when he was dead.
I think you misunderstood my use of the term "a few", which meant a few in terms of types of drugs used (which were not limited to acid by the way). And as to research I spent six years working on my book about them, meeting them all around the world, even going on tour with them. Some of them became friends of mine. So I'm pretty confident I'm not telling you bullshit here ;-)
Just google on: vagabonds tuxedomoon corbisier AND you'll get a list of all the online stores that sell it. You have to order it online, it's not available in "physical" shops. The title of my book is "Music For Vagabonds - The Tuxedomoon Chronicles"
This is not true: all members of the band - past or present - are still alive and in a good shape today. They did - indeed - a few drugs but this was quite explainable considering the San Francisco context they originally came from. I wrote a book about them (Music For Vagabonds - The Tuxedomoon Chronicles) that does address the drug issue as far as they are concerned. Cheers, Isabelle Corbisier
"THE" version of desire, raw and nervy, this downtown 81 version should of been on the album. The film itself captures all the great bands of that epoch,i must have watched it a thousand times....ahh the memories
Great song. Tuxedo Moon not so known in Canada but I LUV em. Too bad just its just getting going on this clip - two minutes of a longer song that just keeps getting better.
BUT THANKS for the post.
What says that spray-painted message - I am trying to decipher?
