i think the short locktime comes from better materials in the powder, giving much better ignition over the traditional powder used back in the day. Also, i assume you used very fine priming powder in the pan, giving better transfer through the flash-hole?
The black powder used was standard black powder, but the amount used in the pan was less than most people use, and the result was less delay in the powder train.
Originally I tried, but because they are all in HD, they overwhelmed the software each time, so I had enough of the crashing, and just when with short videos.
Looks like a fun rifle. I'm halfway tempted to get a nice .72 musket, but I'd also like to get a .50-56 Spencer carbine I've seen, too. Decisions, decisions.
Nice pants, too. I think I have the same ones, pretty cheap from the Sportsman's Guide.
