You could try retro wheels not sure what color but they have assortments of durometers or if you like otang either some durians or stimulis purps are 83a they are pretty nice or some purple otang in heats but they take a little bit to round up and break in
ive had the same screw problem. i havent heard about any other longboard breaking the truck screws, but ive broken uhh 7 i think? something ridiculous. and the protective metal plates have broken in a couple different places, and the board started to crack down the middle from the truck cutouts. im about to send it back, the 3 year warranty is gonna be used.
I can't decide on whether I should get the Heist or the Descent. I'm gonna mostly use it to get around campus and hit up some decent hills. Which board do you think is better for that?
@coloradokid1992 I wouldn't think it would be a big difference. The descent will give you some sharper turning since it's a top mount. The Heist will be sturdier on big hills since it's a drop through.
@coloradokid1992 i've ridden both and have also been a sells rep for ns. definitely go with the hiest. you'll feel much safer. its lower give you a better feel when your pulling a slide or doing some switchbacks. if you want more of just a flex deck just for kicks, go with the descent.
i got one its good for carving mine is basicly identical to his its a smooth ride great fun nice and stable when you go down hills but if u want to slide i recomend getting different wheels cus ive tried to slide on mine and it doesnt work so well. :)
@bluebo28954 I feel like you could, but I've never tried. It kinda defeats the purpose of a drop-through board though. Those trucks just raise you higher.
@bluebo28954 I suppose that is true, but you just have to make sure you don't hinder the bushings. I was just pointing it out. How are those sidewinders anyway? I've never really ridden them. I'm a Paris trucks fan
@bluebo28954 the sidewinders are actually really great!!! they don't squeak at all even though I never put lube or anything like that and I bought my board at zumiez at the gilroy outlets and the person who was selling it to me recommended them. if you by them i think they're actually pretty cheap. the trucks are great for cruising and carving but if you plan to go down hill i wouldn't think about it because i fell once. I've used the trucks for quite a while now and there still great!!
I guess it depends on how hard you are bombing these hills. It holds up pretty well at speed if you know how to handle it. It sounds like it would be good for what you do. It's a beauty to carve up some hills on. Especially if you put a softer bushing in. Mine turns pretty hard already and I got the stocks in.
Nah. I've never experienced speed wobbles on any of my boards after my first day ever skating. This board rides really low to the ground too so I'd suspect it would hold up pretty well. I would suggest that if you are set on this board, get the power flex b/c you don't want a whole lot of flexibility when you go fast. Speedboarding is done better on stiff boards, but then they aren't as nice to carve. So it's a trade-off.
I like the flex. I'm 180 in this video, so you can tell from that. The power flex will just be stiffer. Personal preference really. If you like a moderately flexy board, you are probably good with the classic. I've never ridden the power flex, but it might be a little stiff under your weight. But I don't know for certain.
They are both really good all around boards. The extra height on the decent will let you pump and carve sharper, but the heist will be easier to push and more stable at speed. Main difference that I could see.
Thank you for the great review man very informative, im thinkin' of getting a power flex as im sure it will bend more with wear and tear. you know a company has a lot of confidence in their product, and care for their customers if they have a 3 year warrranty!!
@wasssabio It should. I got my board from a shop near my house and the warranty still applies to me I believe. Overall, they are very willing to make you happy even without the warranty.
alright i was thinking you had to order from them so they can keep a record of you buying it from them whew and i weigh 160 shud i go for power or classic?
@wasssabio well I was 180 when I shot this video and the classic was fine for me. I've never felt the power myself. It all depends on if you like a more flexible board. The classic is very flexy tho as you can see in the vid.
i'm really considering the ns heist over the loaded dervish...it just seems like a all around good board and you can't go wrong with the 3 year warranty
Thanks! Means alot! I'm getting a Humu soon from longboard larry. I'm gonna review that after I ride it for a good bit.
(to everybody else) ps. I haven't put up a riding video for 3 reasons. 1) I'm not that good 2) I don't really have anybody else to skate in the vid/ film me. 3) my camera has been acting funny.
this is last years model, there are now different types of flex and they have reinforced the bolt holes, alot of people cracked theirs, including me. The old flex was too much for someone over 180, hopefully they fixed it with the new power flex.
yea i just ordered the heist about a week ago..it comes tomorrow! from all the research i had done prior to buying the heist, i foud that the heist and the dervish are almost exactly the same, but the heist is a lot cheaper, all my friends have the dervish and i find the heist to be just as good and even better in some situations...
the dervish and heist are nothing alike other than shape. I have both and they ride completely different, and feel completely different. I've had to replace my heist(under warranty) and get the new deck with the new flex tomorrow.
The Heist is a fairly similar board to the Dervish and Vangaurd. They are both will be similar in sliding and DH. Only real perk to the Loadeds is that you can pick a flex. Otherwise, the Heist is just as good and cheaper.
I weigh 108 lbs and I've taken it a bit over 30 mph with no problems. I could probably take it to at least 45 without issue, and maybe even faster as I get better. Heavier riders probably shouldn't take it much over 30 unless they are extremely confident.
I have difficulty manualing on any board, so it's just as hard as any other board to me.The nose of the board is approximately the same size of the Loaded Dervish and people have no problem manualing on that. It just takes some getting used to.
Well like I said, I've bottomed it out twice and don't have any scratches. The tips however have been a bit scraped up from practicing tiger claws. I have though, if you do any kind of trick where you jump back on the board, make sure you plant really close to the trucks. Other wise the board will just flex completely under the force
Nah. I'm not really worried about jumping and stuff. I stay pretty flat for the most part. Anytime I do need to jump a little, I just reach down and grab the board.
i love this board

Was your board a classic flex or power? Cause I'm about 180 too but I don't know to be at the max flex weight of one or be very low on another.?

@LoadedElliott Mine was the classic flex I suppose. I bought it before when there was only 1 option.

@MegaWhiteLies1 nice! The wheels are actually slidable, but you have to break them in first. Still probably not the best to slide on though.

I have never gotten any speed wobbles. I'd say I've taken it to about 25 mph
darksoulace 2 years ago
can you dance on it or is it weird because it is too concave?
muryb11 2 years ago
Actually, I don't have any problem dancing on it. The great carving really flows you into maneuvers, such as cross-steps and pans.
I would maybe not suggest it if that is your main plan. If you'd like an all around board, but like to dance, go for it!
darksoulace 2 years ago
hav you tried putting sky hooks on it?
zdanz25 2 years ago
No. I've never tried. Is there a reason to?

Nah. I'm not really worried about jumping and stuff. I stay pretty flat for the most part. Anytime I do need to jump a little, I just reach down and grab the board.
