@airbus320dfw What part of "airport officials had decided not to (hook to the jetbridge)" did you miss? I was on an ERJ-145 in June. In Louisville-SDF where I departed we boarded via connected jetbridge, but when we parked at IAD-Washington, we disembarked via stairs and went onto the tarmac and then up more stairs into a jetbridge then into the terminal. It's just that different airports have different ways of doing things.
Strange Jetway. I'm so used to the ones that go directly into the plane, without transfering to outdoor airstairs. Boarding a cruise ship is quite similar to this except the jetways (the cruise port calls them "Gangways") have glass walls overlooking the ship.
@force311999 Bombardier Canadair Regional Jet (CRJ200) Has 50 Seats and is operated by Atlantic Southeast Airlines which is a part of the Delta Connection.
Roanoke Airport has such nice architecture inside. That sure is a very very nice airport. Maybe a little nicer than El Paso Airport. The baggage claim in ur airport looks just like ours in El Paso Airport. There arent many security checkpoints in ur airport as there is in my airport. Those jetways look just like El Paso Airport jetways. In our airport, u dont go outside to board. With those small planes, we board inside the jetway. Anyways, great video and thanks for filming ur airport :)
@dontwalkhand Oh i see. Then the jetways are probably made by a different company. In El Paso Airport, smaller planes park in the jetways. Even an ERJ can park in an El Paso Airport jeyway. But that might be because the jetways in El Paso Airport are bigger, since we have big planes and even bigger ones in the past.
@dontwalkhand Actually all CRJs can pull up to jetways. I work for US Airways and whenever we get an rj, we just pull the steps down and then pull the jetway up to the open door.
Good airport, but the terminals are a bit tacky

It's a regular jetway only they have stairs because they can't get the jetway to the plane...
Bradster863 6 months ago
@Bradster863 you can get a jetway down to a crj200 its just that for whatever reason (it varies) , they dont sometimes.

Enjoyed the video. Glad you didn't turn the camera off and put it away, despite the number of times you were asked to do so.

Why don't they connect the gate to the plane that is how it was on my trip from airports ALB to MCO
spairNM 1 year ago
@spairNM It depends on the plane and whatever the airport decides to do. CRJs can hook to a jetway but the airport officials here decided not to.
airplanecrazy1989 8 months ago

@elevatortimes The reason why he didn't board inside the jetway was because the plane didn't support it, it had its own built in stairs.
