Yeah, the shirt is silly and PETA's "marketing" is just that, making it into a joke, but the industrialized slaughter of animals to cater for consumer society resulting in not only the disconnection from the fact that what people eat was once alive, but also that it results in immeasurable suffering. plants don't have nervous systems or brains. animals do. they feel pain. Humans need plants to live. Us vegetarians do draw a line, the line of necessity. We try to live our lives as animal cruelty free as possible. it is true that micro organisms die. Just because we can't live our lives 100% cruelty free doesnt meant that we shouldnt try at all.

Yeah, the shirt is silly and PETA's "marketing" is just that, making it into a joke, but the industrialized slaughter of animals to cater for consumer society resulting in not only the disconnection from the fact that what people eat was once alive, but also that it results in immeasurable suffering. Animals do eat animals, but animals do not breed other animals in tiny cages to abuse them only to finally kill them in whatever awful manner.

I don't eat meat or fish, no one really knows that unless im going for a pajama party/home stay and they need to know. I haven't eaten meat for almost 20 years. I am a libertarian and believe others need to decide what is "right" to them. vegetarianism is right for me. People who eat meat should go out an slaughter their own food ideally, industrial farming is NOT reflective of the food chain, when a animal is killed out of need, and lived a natural life up until point of death.

I just think animals should have the best conditions possible while alive. To me, it's not so much that we eat them, it's the horrible way they live.
If you go out and shoot something, it lived its life naturally and not as a product pumped full of chemicals and hormones, I think that's the most vegetarians should ask for. The best conditions possible. People are always going to eat meat, get over it.

Here are a few problems with your arguments. 1. The whole reason we have bumper stickers, t-shirts, etc with logos on them is because they DO promote change of mind and insight.
