I think this can be considered as one of the most passionate symphonies written ever. You can almost hear Tchaikovsky's cries throughout his music. I think that him and Mozart are the only composers in the world that have felt all the feelings in the world and have transcribed all this feelings in their music. Nothing is too much. Nothing is too less. When I will die, I wish they would play this part at my funeral.
6:39 - 7:25 is the most glorious of all passages, for me, in Tchaikovsky. It has a kind of passionate afterglow, and the dialogue between the violins and cello is so tender, caressing.
after the initial paroxism of the dramatic development section the metal section perform a part of the choral from the ortodox church "rest among the saints", that gives light about the funeral content in this work, as it's been said many times, Tchaicowsky's autobiography?, then the lyric theme appears again in a passionate mode with the strings, ending the movement with a soft intervention of the wind instruments over an obstinato of the strings, Beautiful masterpiece, the russian genius!
I would love to listen to this in an actual concert! It would make your heart race when they get really loud and fast!
