kalari is the mother of martial arts and it went 2 china from the hand of boddhidharma. ihave got the timeline: INDIA Ksatreya Vajramukti Simhanta Bodhisattva Vajramukti Trisatyabhumi Trican Nata Dharmapala Mahabhuta Pratima CHINA Seng Cha Pu Sa Chin Kang Chuan (Bodhisattva Vajramukti (Po Fu) (Huo Ming) (Pa She) (Pai Chin) Seng Ping Chuan Fa or Kung Fu (Karate) (Tae Kwon Do) (Thai Boxing) (Ju Jitsu) (Judo) (Aikido)
Kalaripayattu is the most ancient martial art..It's called the mother of all martial arts..Founder of shaolin Kung Fu Bodhidharma is from south india who was a kalari expert.
I was a judo champion, boxed, karated, learnt thai, jui jitsued and am silat guru, and I can see the value of this training-this is a form of drills to work techniques, keep agility, its not fighting per se-most of this is designed for weapons, kalari competion type fighting is in a wrestling grappling mode, its an ancient art,a mix of greek, persian and indian -some of this is found in silat
Telegraphing your moves much...lol a carefully rehearsed sequence of moves rather than actual fighting without weapons, get someone in there that trains in wing chun...!!!
@gbb357 umm well basically. Wing Chun regardless of legend or fact was taught to a lady by a female abbot named Ng Mui who was in turn of Shaolin faith. Shaolin faith revolved around Buddhism and furthermore Buddhism was introduced to china by an Indian monk named Bodhidharma who was the one who primarily taught martial arts to a group of Chinese monks to be able to defend themselves. Bodhidharma's martial arts was of Indian origin, as is this Martial Arts :) ;; happy now? :P
@KiRiBaTiSOUL ...I said prove it, not repeat the same BULLSHIT LIE that everyone that is delusional keeps regurgitating. There's no proof that Bodhi knew martial arts, let alone knew KungFu. Yes he might have taught Buddhism & Yoga, those two does not equate to KungFu. Again, show me factual credible proof, not BULLSHIT LIES & MADE UP FOLKLORE STORIES. This crap was made up to promote Kalari because Kalari cannot stand on it's own ground.
@KiRiBaTiSOUL ..Check out the pathetic retarded kick on 1:56 of this video, no martial arts especially KungFu would ever teach & execute that pathetic retarded kick, period. That's proof. If that's not enough, then check out another pathetic retarded kick from the Kalari Fight Quest episode when one of the Kalari experts executed one of the most retarded pathetic flying kick known to man.
@KiRiBaTiSOUL ...Still not enough, how about another pathetic retarded kick, like the spinning kick from the video "Kalarippayattu demonstration- southern style", at 0:26 of that video, you'll see the most retarded pathetic spinning kick ever. BTW, yes i am happy, i'm always happy.:) Cheers
@KiRiBaTiSOUL ..I just noticed another pathetic retarded kick on this video. At about 0:22, what looks like a round house kick, or at least a real retarded one was executed. The form & style is just simply sloppy & uncoordinated, i mean, it just looks sooo bad. Again, no martial arts would teach it like that, let alone execute it in a demo video and post it on youtube, that's just embarrassing.
@KiRiBaTiSOUL ...If the Kalari community just came out and said that their art is their own, it would've gotten more respect. Instead they made up a BULLSHIT LIE, CLAIM, STORY, so they can take credit for something they have no clue & something that doesn't have any similarities at all with KungFu. The arrogance & ignorance to claim such LIE, that it's "the mother of all martial arts", that it's the original, & that KungFu came from them, it's appalling & disgusting IMO.
@KiRiBaTiSOUL ...Like i said, all this BULLSHIT LIE is simply to promote Kalari. Because they know that Kalari cannot stand on its own, it doesn't have any credibility or reputation. It cannot compete with any other martial arts especially with KungFu, not in style, form, & execution. It's quite sad & pathetic that the leading MMA schools in India are not teaching Kalari, even the special forces in India are not teaching Kalari, that's saying alot.
@gbb357 research it yourself my friend :) ;; I speak from an unbiased perspective as I study Muay Thai and only state facts that I read from historical accounts such as yours truly, Ip Man who indeed says so himself, may he R.I.P might I add. It's not the credibility and reputation that makes a Martial Art strong, it is it's disciples and techniques, and how they compliment eachother in terms of learning. The root of one's mistake is not in the Martial Art itself, but the Martial Artist.
@KiRiBaTiSOUL ..Well said, but the credibility & reputation of any martial arts also lies behind the truth. Whether it'll be it's origin or it's purpose. A martial artist actions does not reflect on the art itself. That's the responsibility of the martial artist. The same goes with the martial arts. This LIE should not reflect on Kalari practitioners, but if they are taught with this LIE & they spread it, then it becomes their own LIE as well. But it's not entirely their fault.
@KiRiBaTiSOUL ...No anger in my part at all. Excuse me & forgive me if i may sound too aggressive. I'm just very passionate about this issue. I don't like LIES being spread around. My language is nothing personal towards you up until it gets personal. But this issue & subject for me is personal, again, no anger at all.
@KiRiBaTiSOUL ...TigerGym in India, the major MMA gym in India are teaching BJJ & Muay Thai. Pekiti-Tirsia, India's leading tactical center that teaches India's special forces for law & enforcement & military, teaches Eskrima & FMA (Filipino Martial Arts) only. Again, that says a lot & there's a reason for that. Not to demean Kalari, but if they're going to make up such BS CLAIM/LIE, they better back it up with facts & substance.
@gbb357 like I said my friend... Research :). Might I say additionally if it may not anger you in any way. As a High Ranking Martial Artist myself, may I implore you to keep an open mind when it comes to discussing Martial Arts and not criticize another Martial Art. In any discipline whether it be Kung-fu, Wing Chun, Muay Thai, Capoeira etc. they all teach the same characteristic... Respect and Honor one another.
@KiRiBaTiSOUL ..You earn respect, therefore I give respect when respect is earned. This LIE in my opinion, is very disrespectful for KungFu & the martial arts community. To arrogantly & ignorantly make up a lie that they're "the mother of all martial arts" & KungFu came from them, is very disrespectful & dishonorable IMO. I have done my researched & so should you. Again, show me factual credible proof, the Bodhi MYTH, IS NOT CREDIBLE PROOF, IT'S A MYTH, A LIE, A MADE UP STORY.
@gbb357 Gautama Buddha himself was born and raised in India might I add. This "lie" you seem to be angered by; the boasting of Kalari being the "mother of all martial arts", is purely the conveying of a romanticized propaganda by Martial Artist enthusiasts who have no sense of Humility and Open-minded perspective. Masters know that only those who seek knowledge not want knowledge are worthy enough to study a Martial Art. Which is mostly why Kalari is rarely known or publicized/advertised
@KiRiBaTiSOUL ...So what, how is Gautama Buddha a proof? Like i said before, i'm not angry at all. If anything i'm amused by this LIE, and that's all it is, ONE BIG FAT LIE.
@KiRiBaTiSOUL ...The shaolin faith or Buddhism has nothing to do with KungFu. I'm christian, & my knowledge in martial arts has nothing to do with my faith either. That's what you people don't get, just because Buddhism & yoga was taught to the monks, that doesn't mean they were taught KungFu as well. Those are two different things, & you're speculating that they came together or they're all i one, they're not.
@gbb357 umm yes Buddhism and Shaolin do have something to do with Kung Fu :) Your knowledge of Martial Arts has nothing to do with how it all originated, Im referring to what heavily influenced martial arts, which is Buddhism.Buddhism regardless, was the main benefactor to how Shaolin is now today.I am aware that they are two difference things. Both faiths have similar morals and ethics but chose defferent paths with them. The Shaolin temple is also a Buddhist Monastery if you didn't know.
@KiRiBaTiSOUL ...FYI, i respect all martial arts, but i don't respect the Kalari's claim. The art itself is beautiful, but i have to be honest, those kicks that i have described are very useless & uncoordinated. It honestly does not have any form or function, not to mention that the execution is completely wrong. But that's my humble opinion. Again, those are one of the many examples & proofs that it doesn't have any similarities with KungFu. It's basic & simple, but it says alot.
@AlexLococo ...When you tell a story that doesn't have any factual credible proof, and you spread it around as facts, that's called A BIG FAT LIE. Get it now.
@AlexLococo ..What you just posted is a great example of a BIG FAT LIE. How do you know for a fact, now listen carefully, A FACT, that without this crap, Wing Chun would've never existed. When the visual facts supports that this CRAP, has nothing to do with Wing Chun or any other martial arts. The pathetic retarded kick at 1:56 of this video is one of the many proofs of that, no other martial arts especially KungFu would execute or teach that retarded pathetic kick.
@AlexLococo ...It is quite obvious that this is not a real fight. Yes it is a demo or a "mock fight". Now compared these KungFu demo videos, titled "More choreographed fight", "Amazing Choreographed Fight / 10th China Games. Duilian" & "Real Life Mortal Kombat". All of them are mixed with hand to hand & weapons demos. If you don't see the extreme differences or lack of any similarities compare to Kalari, then you're stupid, in denial, & simply lying to yourself. Please, i dare you to watch it.
@gbb357 the visual representation of martial arts mean nothing. Savate is a western martial art that has nothing to do with eastern martial art, yet, it resembles martial arts like TKD (ITF) and indochinese kick boxing. On the other had, Western Kick boxing looks more similar to Savate than it does to Karate, even though it evolves from Karate, not Savate. Luta Livre Esportiva and BJJ look quite similar, however, LLE evolves from catch wrestling and BJJ from Judo, two other similar looking arts.
@AlexLococo ...Visual representation means everything. It shows the form, style, technique, & execution of every martial arts. There's a reason why TKD's kicks are so similar to KF, and the same reason why BJJ's take downs are so similar to Judo as well. In Kalari's case, the retarded pathetic kick has no similarities at all with any martial arts, especially KF. That's just one of them, i can show you more. Again, i dare you to watch those video examples i gave.
@AlexLococo ...I didn't insult you directly, i am insulting this BULLSHIT CLAIM/LIE, because it is insulting & disrespectful to KungFu & the martial arts community. Anyway, KF & TKD have tornado kicks & 540 kicks, because TKD is partly derived directly from KF. Show me either one of those kicks from Kalari, you can't. They have tried to copy it, but it's not even close in execution & form, & certainly not in style. So again, show me factual credible proof about this BS LIE, you can't, it's a LIE
@gbb357 There are more sources that cite this as a predecessor of almost every eastern martial art. In fact, you're the first one I heard, and I still see no good arguement other than the looks.
@AlexLococo ...The looks is one of the biggest proof there is. Because it shows the HUGE DIFFERENCES IN STYLE, EXECUTION, & FORM. There are no similarities whatsoever. There are many cites if not more that debunked this BODHI MYTH WHICH ARE NOTHING BUT BS LIES.
@gbb357 I still don't think it is a fair argument, for, as I said, there are many arts that look similar and are not related (savate and TKD), similarly, related martial arts that don't look similar, (aikido and judo, both evolved from jujutsu, and the only similarity is grappling).
@AlexLococo ...TKD is directly related & derived from KungFu, that's why you'll see exactly similar kicks like the Tornado kick & 540 kick from both arts. Jujustsu, Judo, & BJJ have distinct and specific similarities because of their history, again they all came from a similar origin hence the similarities. Simply watch any KungFu demo videos here & compare it to any Kalari videos, you can't deny the differences or in this case, no similarities whatsoever in execution, form, & style.
@gbb357 However, savate does not has any relationship with kung fu, nor any relationships eastern martial art. Judo evolved from jujitsu, catch wrestling from folk wrestling, and are very similar and have no relationship between them. Aikido and Judo from jujutsu, and the first one is about small joint manipulation, the other one about throws, takedowns and ground-work.
@gbb357@gbb357 However, savate does not has any relationship with kung fu, nor any relationships eastern martial art. I will say MMA and UFC.......can be learned fast and is really helpful for streetfighting but they are not religioustic martialarts........kalari is some what like wushu...weaponary fighting...!
@Decentmartialartist ...You think MMA & UFC is that easy, LOL, you're funny. Many fighters in MMA have years of experienced in different form of martial arts like Jiu Jitsu & Muay Thai, way before they got into MMA. Quite ignorant of you to think that it can be learned fast. If anything, it's a true test of any martial arts skills. And we're not talking about weaponry fighting, we're talking about hand to hand skills & combat.
see guys keralian or indian martial arts acts as a platform for all kind of martial arts...As i myself had learned 4 martial arts including lil bit kalarippayattu.......Its look very simple, retarded, sloppy, & completely uncoordinated but i will say its hard in case of pressure point fighting (varma kalai) cause I myself is a wingchun and praying mantis practioner.......I got stucked in some points cause they believe a hit a massive damage....
@Decentmartialartist ...Again with this BS. Where is your evidence & proof that Kalari or any Indian martial arts are the platform of any kind of martial arts, when there's visual proof & evidence that there are no technical similarities what so ever. Case in point, the retarded kick on 1:56 of this video. Seriously, who kicks like that & who would ever teach anyone to kick like that & who in their right mind would learn to kick like that & why.
@DarkReanimation ..If it's a history or historical, that means it's a proven fact. If it's not, then it's called a myth or legend. That's what this bodhi story is, a myth. But it's being spread as if it's true, it's not. So now it's just a big FAT LIE.
@Rikthful ...LMFAO! So now the lama invented kungfu, not bodhi. This is comical, more F-ing LIES on top of a pile of LIES. Any proof of this BS, didnt think so.
@Rikthful ...And you dont know jack about kung fu. I never claimed I know anything about india and india has nothing to do with kung fu, thats fact, period. Now go do your research.
This combat style may not be the strongest, the most graceful, nor the most refined, but there lies its beauty. Observing non-choreographed sparring videos, i feel that no other martial art is this raw and primal. I wish to learn this as a base for developing my own combat style. I promise it will be unlike any other.
kalari is more than just kicks there is an entire part dedicated varma meaning secret shot attacks...giving blows on nerves they can paralyze you with one blow. then there is URUMI the most lethal sword ever! you also have daggers, 6 six feet long sticks, short sticks. without doubt this was martial arts designed to kill not defend ...it was for war and it uses more weaponry than any arts i know
@arulisms ...I never said Kalari is just kicks, & base on that pathetic retarded kick on 1:56 of this video, Kalaripayatu is definitely not about kicks at all. It's quite obvious from that pathetic retarded kick that Kalaripayatu does not know how to kick, at least not in martial arts form & function. All of these examples you've posted has nothing to do with KungFu, period.
@arulisms ..Watch the videos that i posted, and you'll see the obvious huge differences. In style, form, execution, coordination, & technique. It's not even close.
@gbb357 you don't see the difference of purpose and time... kalari isn't just a martial art... it's also a philosophy... and to the part of style... you know in times of war it doesn't matter if the kick is done in the correct "style", cause this is predictable for an experienced fighter... stop spewing shit and get your facts straight... you're just seeing it as a martial art for streetfighting. But the truth is, that it's invented for war... I'd like to see u fighting someone with real weapons
@DarkReanimation ..I'm not talking about the philosophy. I'm simply disputing the obvious BULLSHIT CLAIM AND LIE that KungFu came from Kalari. There's no credible factual proof to back up that BS LIE, PERIOD. And i'm not just talking about fighting with weapons either, i'm talking about KungFu in general, with or without weapons. The retarded pathetic kick at 1:56 says a lot, that would never ever be taught in any martial arts because it is retarded & pathetic & useless.
@DarkReanimation ..Who the hell is talking about "WAR", this video is a simple demo, it's suppose to look coordinated, technically fluid, & artistic. Instead it looked retarded, sloppy, & completely uncoordinated. You want more epic sloppiness, check the move at 0:26, now that's retarded. I will admit the two young boys looked very sharped as they should be. You're right, in war, if you execute that retarded kick, you'll be dead, it's quite predictable, slow, & useless.
@gbb357 yeah, and you know how it's done right? are you out of your mind or didn't your father catch you after he threw you up in the air? maaaann... kalari was meant to be usefull if you're fighting in a war... so it's obious it's meant for war... and this kick is sloppy and easy to predict... but it's so easy, that you can combine it with a slash of a dagger or something else... that's that what makes the difference
@gbb357 it may look sloppy, but if it's done fast you won't be able to predict it... you know it yourself, that's why you're still writing here... so cut the crap and shut your trap... and yes kung fu wasn't invented by the indians alone, but kalari had a big influence... and if you look at the manner and the philosophy it's very close to kung fu... i suppose i've told you enough, you should now research on your own and you will see the truth... -.-
@DarkReanimation....Against a decent and knowledgeable fighter or a martial arts practitioner, you wouldn't be able to get that close to kick the shin, you'll get dropped before you even get that close. What influence are you talking about, exercise and philosophy has no direct correlation with the martial arts itself. Yes they eventually taught and implemented it together with the monks. But you can learn KungFu without buddhism, but you have to start at a very young age.
@DarkReanimation ...You haven't told me shit that i haven't heard over and over again. It's the same bullshit lie that has no facts to back it up with. I don't need to do any more research, i'm not the one spreading bullshit lies.
@gbb357 if you would study history you would know that a lot of things aren't really backed up, but you try to get as near as possible to the truth through research... so if you look at how buddism and martial arts began to spread in the asian region you will easily see that kalari was also one of the major martial arts which was a big inspiration for kung fu...
Kungfu went to china from tamilnadu... Bodhidharma was a tamilian who went to china and taught them both kung fu and zen tao buddhism... so its no surprise kung fu resembles ancient south Indian martial arts...because it is ancient south Indian martial art
@arulisms ..There are no similarities what so ever between Kung Fu & Kalaripayatu, that's why i gave the pathetic kick on 1:56 as an example. NO marital arts kicks like that, especially not in KungFu. It's quite slopppy, retarded, uncoordinated, & no technique what so ever. You're just regurgitating the same LIE all over again. It's a FOLKLORE STORY, A LIE, A BS CLAIM, nothing more. Again, show some factual credible proof, you can't.
I think what he's talking about is a Indian monk came to the Shaolin and taught them Yoga excersises. The Shaolin to this day do many strength and flexibility training based in Yoga and so does Kalaripyattu.Fighting techniques of"Kung fu"is a very broad term and covers a vast aray of styles, time periods, land radius. There's probably Thousands of "Kung fu" styles, but alot of the training comes from Indians, at least in the most famous Kung fu place, Shaolin =) Not ALL kung fu is from there lol
That's what I mean, like Yoga stretching and strengthening and stuff. Hitting people is alot older than India and everyone created their own versions of that haha
@anatheistmyself ...There's nothing negative about the truth. You obviously can't handle the truth. Spreading LIES and FALSE CLAIMS like Bodhi taught KungFu and that KungFu came from India, now that's full of negativity.
@gbb357 kung Fu was invented when there was no boundaries between the two countries because at that tim e there was no China or India...
so the TRUTH is... Kung Fu was invented by a person named Dharma lama. he was a man of Indian race (he was brown color, and he was not a mongoloid like chinese people) Even the Shoulin monks say that this is true...
Just because all the proofs and artifacts are destroyed, doesnt mean that Kalari was not the basis for the development of Kung Fu....Kalari is the base of martial arts...brought from India to China by the great master Bodhidharma.
@sloane2002 ....They weren't destroyed, they never existed. Check out the kick on 1:56, you will never find that retarded kick in KungFu & it would never be taught either. Actually, that retarded kick would never ever be taught in any martial arts.
yick yack this yick yak that...indian were the first..chinese were the first...this will lead us no where brothers and sisters..i found that both chinese and indian martial arts are both beautiful and effective..
@weissen888 ...You see that's the difference, no one that officially represents KungFu have ever publicly & arrogantly claimed that KungFu is the "MOTHER OF ALL MARTIAL ARTS", or that KungFu started martial arts, or the original martial arts, or any other ridiculous arrogant BULLSHIT CLAIM/LIE. What's makes this claim by Kalaripayatu more ludicrous is the fact that it is no where near or similar than KungFu,
@TheSilentdarkmuse ...That's my point, there's no comparison. Hence Kalaripayatu has nothing to do with KungFu, therefore the Bodhi LIE IS A LIE. Again, show factual credible proof. What part did an Indian gave the Chinese the knowledge in martial arts when there's no proof & there are no similarities what so ever. Especially when it's obvious in this video at 1:56 that kalaripayatu cannot execute a kick and has a retarded kick of their own, i mean who kicks like that, seriously.
@gbb357 Present day chinese, japanese world worship dharma as their guru, they know about Bodhidharma, and please read wikipedia, it's mentioned there that Dharma was the one who trained chinese, and possibly Kalarippayattu, an indian maritial art purposefully should match chinese maritial arts, Bodhi left India and practiced zen in Chinese, Frankly, That time, an indian surely did not had any knowledge of Zen, and It's a wonder, that how come an INDIAN be a GURU of Chinese, can't reason!
@TheSilentdarkmuse ..WRONG! Wiki doesn't prove shit. I've read all of that from Wiki, that's not factual credible proof. Just so you know, not everything on the internet is true, especially from wiki. Bodhi taught Buddhism, Zen, & exercise but it does not equate to KungFu or martial arts. Bodhi probably didn't even know any martial arts, let alone KungFu, because there's no proof. Again show me factual credible proof, you do know what that means. Who can't reason now!
@TheSilentdarkmuse ...Furthermore, Kalaripayatu cannot match with KungFu, not in style, execution, and form. Just watch the retarded kick on 1:56, who kicks like that. No martial arts has a retarded kick like that. Now that's proof! So again, who can't reason now.
@TheSilentdarkmuse ...Again, that kick on 1:56, you will never find that in KungFu or any other martial arts. That's just simply retarded, uncoordinated, & quite sloppy. That's enough proof & a solid one.
@gbb357 I mean to say, Bodhi lived in china and made himself, enlightened himself, and definitely it doesn't mean there should be some source which says, yes!, Kalaraipattu and chinese maritial arts should be same, only for the reason Bodhi trained them, in wiki it's wrote, Bodhi trained their "weak" bodies, One more thing, History says something, Various people has different voices, but the facts may vary, History only gives the bottom line.
@TheSilentdarkmuse...WRONG AGAIN! The fact is and the bottom line is, there's no factual credible proof that bodhi knew any martial arts let alone taught one, specifically KungFu, PERIOD. All this claim is, ARE LIES, FOLK LORE CRAP, & BULLSHIT STORY.
@TheSilentdarkmuse ..I didn't say i feel that it's crap, I KNOW IT'S CRAP. Any LIES are always CRAP. I don't have to prove anything at all, i'm not making up any LIES & BULLSHIT CLAIMS. You're getting the point, nobody really knows if Bodhi knew any martial arts at all, so to make up such BULLSHIT CLAIM is quite pathetic. I honestly could careless about wiki, that's not proof, anyone can make up shit & post it on wiki, there are more articles in the net that disproves this LIE.
@TheSilentdarkmuse ...So you haven't commented about the retarded kick on 1:56 on this video. Are you avoiding it or you're just in denial. See if you can find that kind of retarded kick from KungFu or any other martial arts, guarantee you can't.. You know why, because it's inefficient, sloppy, uncoordinated, & quite retarded, not to mention it's useless.
@TheSilentdarkmuse ...Just for kicks, watch these KungFu fight demo videos, you'll see the huge difference, especially with kicks. But more importantly, the coordination, fluidity, technique, execution & overall style.
Shao Zhao Ming Kung Fu Demo
taekwondo VS wushu
Wushu & Kung-Fu
Wushu-Fighting
Wushu Kung Fu
Amazing Kung Fu Kid
Amazing Choreographed Fight / 10th China Games
Extreme Kungfu Fight
Remember these are all choreographed just like this video & i'm sure you'll deny the differences
@gbb357 that's why the shaolin say it themself... you idiot... oh no I'm sorry, I should pity you... your life must be so hard, that you can't take it anymore. At least this would explain your childish behaviour... be a bit more mature, yeah?
@gbb357 that's your only point... the kick...and you know what, if you do the kicks always the same way you'll get predictable, and that would be your end in war... and you wouldn't expect such a kick from a martial artist, so if he would do it fast enough, it could mean defeat...
@DarkReanimation ..That retarded pathetic kick is just one of the many points that proves Kalari has nothing to do with KungFu. It doesn't matter how fast that kick is, it's utterly useless, sloppy, uncoordinated, & retarded. Who the hell kicks like that & expect any results or any use from it. It's simply useless & retarded. Watch MMA & you'll see what an effective & proper leg kick should be.
I could see rampage walking through these guys. But how about a Kalarippayattu master? doubtful. Just because these guys arent using their style very practically (or for more show reasons) does not mean Rampage & Bisping, can walk over every Kalarippayattu practicioner. real talk.
@DaddyWarbucks452 ...Uhh, nobody mentioned anything about UFC up until some jackass said that Bisping & Rampage would get their asses kicked by these guys. So who's the retard?
There is a reason why there is so much hate. Look at them in the video. They aren't fighting. They are dancing. UFC uses MMA for a reason...because it is practical. This martial is so impractical, I mean look. They aren't even trying to fight. There were even a few times that they flipped just for the fuck of it.
@macbeasty ...Never mind the dancing, i can actually respect & appreciate that, many martial arts have it because that's part of their art. This on the other hand is just utterly ridiculous in regards to it's stupid CLAIM/LIE that it's the mother of all martial arts & that Kung Fu came from it. Just check out the stupid move on 0:24 & more retarded kick on 1:56. Uncoordinated, no technique, & quite sloppy & this was actually for show & a demo, makes it more pathetic.
@gbb357 Historically, the art can be traced to the Middle Ages, or ca. the 11th to 12th century, more specifically to the account by historian Elamkulam Kunjan Pillai who attribtues the birth of kalari payat to an extended period of warfare between the Tamil Kingdoms Cheras and the Cholas in the 11th century AD.
While it is clear that various forms of martial arts have been practiced in China since antiquity, very little detail on specifics can be recovered for times predating the 16th century.
@praj92 ....Okay, "The earliest references to Chinese martial arts are found in the Spring & Autumn Annals (5th century BCE)"where a hand to hand combat theory, including the integration of notions of "hard" & "soft" techniques is mentioned. " Fact, there's no similarities in technique, style, execution, & form between kalaripayatu & KungFu. Just watch & compare all the videos here in youtube between the two. YOu have to be blind or in denial not to see the obvious & complete differences.
@gbb357 Bodhitara Chadili was the 3rd son of the king of Koshi in Southern India. He was a Buddhist monk who lived during the 5th/6th century AD and is traditionally credited as the leading patriarch and transmitter of Zen to China. According to Chinese legend, he also began the physical training of the Shaolin monks that led to the creation of Shaolinquan.
@praj92 ...To imply & assume that the Chinese did not know how to defend their country & did not know any martial arts before Bodhi came is utterly ludicrous. Almost as ludicrous as this LIE that bodhi taught KungFu when there is no factual credible proof to back it up with. Just as there is no factual credible proof that bodhi even knew any martial arts, let alone taught KungFu. So again, where's the factual credible proof, not theories, not speculations, & not folk lore made up stories.
@JulezBabi ...Really, go watch the video titled "backstreet kalari fight" or the episode from FIGHT QUEST when Doug & Jimmy went to India to fight Kalaripayatu fighters, let me know who's ass got kicked in that fight and come back here & post it if you dare. Trust me, Bisping & Rampage would tear these guys in this video a new A-hole without breaking a sweat.
hey mother fucker do u know wht fight quest is its just a demonstration to show that doug and jimmy are the best actually it doesnt seems to me that they r the best if its a real fight they would hav got fucked up by an INDIAN
@sebinxavier ...Yeah okay, demonstration my ASS. It was a demonstration of how useless this kalaripayatu crap is, that's why Doug & Jimmy embarrassed, humiliated, & repeatedly bitched slapped those kalaripayatu expert's asses. With simple take downs & basic strikes. Doug & Jimmy certainly aren't the best, not even close, which made it more embarrasing for those kalari fighters. Tell me how many best fighters out there that's a Kalaripayatu practitioner or Indian, none what so fucking ever.
@sebinxavier ...Please explain to me again what the fuck is that move on 0:24 or 0:26 & WTF are those kicks on 1:56, who the fuck kicks like that.. Seriously, that's probably the most retarded kicks i've seen & retarded grappling attempt or whatever the fuck it was that i've ever seen. Try to explain those moves, i bet you can't, other than fucking retarded, uncoordinated, sloppy, & no fucking technique what so ever which pretty much describes what Kalaripayatu is.
THOSE WHO CLAIM THAT THIS IS STUPID: grow up... it's after all a demonstration.. dont fucking give comments without knowing the real technique behind the martial arts.. you guys are very good in sitting n watching fights in youtube lol loosers..
@TheGjddaniel ....That's the problem, it's a demonstration, it's supposed to look good, smooth, and flawless. Instead it looks retarded, uncoordinated, sloppy, and absolutely no technique. Again, watch the kick at 1:56, who the fuck kicks like that. Watch the move on 0:26, what is that? Compare this demonstration with all other martial arts demos here in youtube, whether it be Krav Maga or JKD or any other martial arts, you'll see the difference.
Phillip Zarrilli, a professor at the University of Exeter and one of the few Western authorities on kalari payat, estimates that the art dates back to at least the 12th century CE. The historian Elamkulam Kunjan Pillai attributes the birth of kalari payat to an extended period of warfare between the Cheras and the Cholas in the 11th century CE.
In Sangam, Kalari was not used as a martial act according to Dick Luijendijk, a researcher at the university of Nijmegen. "Kalari" is a centre of learning in Kerala. they taught language, math etc. later on, there were fight schools, thats what "payattu kalari" means.
LOL, really, good coordination, are you serious, why don't you check the "coordination" between 0:25 to 0:28, or exactly 0:26, and who the fuck kicks like that at 1:56 or throws strikes like that. I am honestly impressed with the two young kids with their speed & flexibility, but the technique & coordination is still very sloppy. More proof that there is no way that this has anything to do with Kung Fu or any other martial arts, period. There's no factual credible proof & no similarities at all.
@gbb357 Dude, What you think, a martial artist would fight exactly the way they r taught in the classes if they are in real fight? Martial arts whether its kungfu, Jujitsu, Muay Thai, Kalaripayattu etc makes you fitter, gives you better reflexes( which is very important in a real fight!) and gives you discipline which teaches you not to pick a fight. If you are not still not convinced try to pick a street fight a Kungfu/MuayThai/karate guy and tell me how much moves they used from the textbook.
@Runciedany ...I'm into MMA, so i know exactly what you're talking about. But you can execute simple basic kicks, i know this for a fact and from experience. But this video is not a real fight, it's a demo and choreographed. Those moves on 0:26 is just simply retarded, and those kicks on 1:56 is even more retarded. Whether they were real strikes or demos, they're just simply ridiculous, useless, and absolutely had no technique. Not to mention that they were sloppy and uncoordinated.
@gbb357 i agree with what your saying... but you have to remeber that this is and ancient figthing art that was once used for war, which goes alot further then show off mma. This style is more simplified because of how old it is so it lacks some modern techniques. But i would say this would be more dangerous then mma more so because of weapons. People like you today see martial arts a practice and not a killing art which is why fighting systems were invented. Show respect!
@aznien9 ...First & foremost, i respect all martial arts, what i don't respect is Kalaripayatu's BULLSHIT LIE & CLAIM. Anything with weapons is more dangerous, MMA is hand combat so it's no comparison. Most martial arts have fatal blows & moves, especially in MMA with Jiu Jitsu. There is nothing simplified about the moves on 0:26 & 1:56, it's just ineffective & retarded. Those kicks are useless & so as that grappling move. Stop this BULLSHIT CLAIM & LIE if you they want respect.
wow. this is just amazing not surprised this birthed other martials arts like kungfu and karate. watch some of the blocks there always something new mma world.thanks for the video.
awesome video ...good co cordination ...way to go guys:-)ignore A** holes who post crap..u know that u can paste the Shi* otta them if they even try to fight with yall ..m sure most of them cant do half what u can do ...
kalari needs 2 b adapted 4 modern times. practitioners of kalari should keep track of other martial arts and combat systems and should spar with practitioners of other systems.
@priyambose2002 Or maybe people like you need to shut the hell up. This is almost like and assassination art. This was once for war so of course more modern strikes are missing but i bet on of these guys would slash you in the face with a sword if you tried to actual call them out. show respect to such an ancient style! they dont have to keep up with the times!! If you want to add on to shit learn another art! modern shit aint got nothin on the old ways!!
@Jizedi Your a women! Stop talking shit because kalaripayattu is more deadly the modern fag martial arts. Why do people keep saying kung fu come from this style!! Chinese systems of fighting had already existed but techniques from indain fighting arts were adopted to later styles. All fighting arts go back to africa(egypt) middle east and mediterranean people need to know history or shut the hell up!! People like you should not talk! Because people like you would get knocked out by these kids!!
I done martial arts all my life and never heard of this art before. Wow! there is alot more out there than people know! KOOL! Post some more stuff on it if you can please. Awesome!! :D Many parts of it resemble kung fu

KiRiBaTiSOUL 1 month ago
@gbb357 nice try though :) yeah ;)
KiRiBaTiSOUL 1 month ago
@KiRiBaTiSOUL ...I said prove it, not repeat the same BULLSHIT LIE that everyone that is delusional keeps regurgitating. There's no proof that Bodhi knew martial arts, let alone knew KungFu. Yes he might have taught Buddhism & Yoga, those two does not equate to KungFu. Again, show me factual credible proof, not BULLSHIT LIES & MADE UP FOLKLORE STORIES. This crap was made up to promote Kalari because Kalari cannot stand on it's own ground.
gbb357 1 month ago
@KiRiBaTiSOUL ..Check out the pathetic retarded kick on 1:56 of this video, no martial arts especially KungFu would ever teach & execute that pathetic retarded kick, period. That's proof. If that's not enough, then check out another pathetic retarded kick from the Kalari Fight Quest episode when one of the Kalari experts executed one of the most retarded pathetic flying kick known to man.
gbb357 1 month ago
@KiRiBaTiSOUL ...Still not enough, how about another pathetic retarded kick, like the spinning kick from the video "Kalarippayattu demonstration- southern style", at 0:26 of that video, you'll see the most retarded pathetic spinning kick ever. BTW, yes i am happy, i'm always happy.:) Cheers
gbb357 1 month ago
@KiRiBaTiSOUL ..I just noticed another pathetic retarded kick on this video. At about 0:22, what looks like a round house kick, or at least a real retarded one was executed. The form & style is just simply sloppy & uncoordinated, i mean, it just looks sooo bad. Again, no martial arts would teach it like that, let alone execute it in a demo video and post it on youtube, that's just embarrassing.
gbb357 1 month ago
@KiRiBaTiSOUL ...If the Kalari community just came out and said that their art is their own, it would've gotten more respect. Instead they made up a BULLSHIT LIE, CLAIM, STORY, so they can take credit for something they have no clue & something that doesn't have any similarities at all with KungFu. The arrogance & ignorance to claim such LIE, that it's "the mother of all martial arts", that it's the original, & that KungFu came from them, it's appalling & disgusting IMO.
gbb357 1 month ago
@KiRiBaTiSOUL ...Like i said, all this BULLSHIT LIE is simply to promote Kalari. Because they know that Kalari cannot stand on its own, it doesn't have any credibility or reputation. It cannot compete with any other martial arts especially with KungFu, not in style, form, & execution. It's quite sad & pathetic that the leading MMA schools in India are not teaching Kalari, even the special forces in India are not teaching Kalari, that's saying alot.
gbb357 1 month ago
@gbb357 research it yourself my friend :) ;; I speak from an unbiased perspective as I study Muay Thai and only state facts that I read from historical accounts such as yours truly, Ip Man who indeed says so himself, may he R.I.P might I add. It's not the credibility and reputation that makes a Martial Art strong, it is it's disciples and techniques, and how they compliment eachother in terms of learning. The root of one's mistake is not in the Martial Art itself, but the Martial Artist.
KiRiBaTiSOUL 1 month ago
@KiRiBaTiSOUL ..Well said, but the credibility & reputation of any martial arts also lies behind the truth. Whether it'll be it's origin or it's purpose. A martial artist actions does not reflect on the art itself. That's the responsibility of the martial artist. The same goes with the martial arts. This LIE should not reflect on Kalari practitioners, but if they are taught with this LIE & they spread it, then it becomes their own LIE as well. But it's not entirely their fault.
gbb357 1 month ago

gbb357 1 month ago
@KiRiBaTiSOUL ...TigerGym in India, the major MMA gym in India are teaching BJJ & Muay Thai. Pekiti-Tirsia, India's leading tactical center that teaches India's special forces for law & enforcement & military, teaches Eskrima & FMA (Filipino Martial Arts) only. Again, that says a lot & there's a reason for that. Not to demean Kalari, but if they're going to make up such BS CLAIM/LIE, they better back it up with facts & substance.
gbb357 1 month ago
@gbb357 like I said my friend... Research :). Might I say additionally if it may not anger you in any way. As a High Ranking Martial Artist myself, may I implore you to keep an open mind when it comes to discussing Martial Arts and not criticize another Martial Art. In any discipline whether it be Kung-fu, Wing Chun, Muay Thai, Capoeira etc. they all teach the same characteristic... Respect and Honor one another.
KiRiBaTiSOUL 1 month ago
@KiRiBaTiSOUL ..You earn respect, therefore I give respect when respect is earned. This LIE in my opinion, is very disrespectful for KungFu & the martial arts community. To arrogantly & ignorantly make up a lie that they're "the mother of all martial arts" & KungFu came from them, is very disrespectful & dishonorable IMO. I have done my researched & so should you. Again, show me factual credible proof, the Bodhi MYTH, IS NOT CREDIBLE PROOF, IT'S A MYTH, A LIE, A MADE UP STORY.
gbb357 1 month ago
@gbb357 Gautama Buddha himself was born and raised in India might I add. This "lie" you seem to be angered by; the boasting of Kalari being the "mother of all martial arts", is purely the conveying of a romanticized propaganda by Martial Artist enthusiasts who have no sense of Humility and Open-minded perspective. Masters know that only those who seek knowledge not want knowledge are worthy enough to study a Martial Art. Which is mostly why Kalari is rarely known or publicized/advertised
KiRiBaTiSOUL 1 month ago
@KiRiBaTiSOUL ...So what, how is Gautama Buddha a proof? Like i said before, i'm not angry at all. If anything i'm amused by this LIE, and that's all it is, ONE BIG FAT LIE.
gbb357 1 month ago
@gbb357 Gautama Buddha? The Almighty Buddha who reached Enlightenment? Practically the one who created Buddhism and henceforth the Shaolin faith.
KiRiBaTiSOUL 1 month ago
@KiRiBaTiSOUL ...The shaolin faith or Buddhism has nothing to do with KungFu. I'm christian, & my knowledge in martial arts has nothing to do with my faith either. That's what you people don't get, just because Buddhism & yoga was taught to the monks, that doesn't mean they were taught KungFu as well. Those are two different things, & you're speculating that they came together or they're all i one, they're not.
gbb357 1 month ago
@gbb357 umm yes Buddhism and Shaolin do have something to do with Kung Fu :) Your knowledge of Martial Arts has nothing to do with how it all originated, Im referring to what heavily influenced martial arts, which is Buddhism.Buddhism regardless, was the main benefactor to how Shaolin is now today.I am aware that they are two difference things. Both faiths have similar morals and ethics but chose defferent paths with them. The Shaolin temple is also a Buddhist Monastery if you didn't know.
KiRiBaTiSOUL 3 weeks ago
@KiRiBaTiSOUL ...FYI, i respect all martial arts, but i don't respect the Kalari's claim. The art itself is beautiful, but i have to be honest, those kicks that i have described are very useless & uncoordinated. It honestly does not have any form or function, not to mention that the execution is completely wrong. But that's my humble opinion. Again, those are one of the many examples & proofs that it doesn't have any similarities with KungFu. It's basic & simple, but it says alot.
gbb357 1 month ago

AlexLococo 3 weeks ago
@AlexLococo ..What you just posted is a great example of a BIG FAT LIE. How do you know for a fact, now listen carefully, A FACT, that without this crap, Wing Chun would've never existed. When the visual facts supports that this CRAP, has nothing to do with Wing Chun or any other martial arts. The pathetic retarded kick at 1:56 of this video is one of the many proofs of that, no other martial arts especially KungFu would execute or teach that retarded pathetic kick.
gbb357 3 weeks ago
@AlexLococo ...It is quite obvious that this is not a real fight. Yes it is a demo or a "mock fight". Now compared these KungFu demo videos, titled "More choreographed fight", "Amazing Choreographed Fight / 10th China Games. Duilian" & "Real Life Mortal Kombat". All of them are mixed with hand to hand & weapons demos. If you don't see the extreme differences or lack of any similarities compare to Kalari, then you're stupid, in denial, & simply lying to yourself. Please, i dare you to watch it.
gbb357 3 weeks ago
@gbb357 the visual representation of martial arts mean nothing. Savate is a western martial art that has nothing to do with eastern martial art, yet, it resembles martial arts like TKD (ITF) and indochinese kick boxing. On the other had, Western Kick boxing looks more similar to Savate than it does to Karate, even though it evolves from Karate, not Savate. Luta Livre Esportiva and BJJ look quite similar, however, LLE evolves from catch wrestling and BJJ from Judo, two other similar looking arts.
AlexLococo 3 weeks ago
@AlexLococo ...Visual representation means everything. It shows the form, style, technique, & execution of every martial arts. There's a reason why TKD's kicks are so similar to KF, and the same reason why BJJ's take downs are so similar to Judo as well. In Kalari's case, the retarded pathetic kick has no similarities at all with any martial arts, especially KF. That's just one of them, i can show you more. Again, i dare you to watch those video examples i gave.
gbb357 3 weeks ago
@gbb357 And avoid the insults, for I directed none to you.
AlexLococo 3 weeks ago
@AlexLococo ...I didn't insult you directly, i am insulting this BULLSHIT CLAIM/LIE, because it is insulting & disrespectful to KungFu & the martial arts community. Anyway, KF & TKD have tornado kicks & 540 kicks, because TKD is partly derived directly from KF. Show me either one of those kicks from Kalari, you can't. They have tried to copy it, but it's not even close in execution & form, & certainly not in style. So again, show me factual credible proof about this BS LIE, you can't, it's a LIE
gbb357 3 weeks ago
@gbb357 There are more sources that cite this as a predecessor of almost every eastern martial art. In fact, you're the first one I heard, and I still see no good arguement other than the looks.
AlexLococo 3 weeks ago
@AlexLococo ...The looks is one of the biggest proof there is. Because it shows the HUGE DIFFERENCES IN STYLE, EXECUTION, & FORM. There are no similarities whatsoever. There are many cites if not more that debunked this BODHI MYTH WHICH ARE NOTHING BUT BS LIES.
gbb357 4 days ago
@gbb357 I still don't think it is a fair argument, for, as I said, there are many arts that look similar and are not related (savate and TKD), similarly, related martial arts that don't look similar, (aikido and judo, both evolved from jujutsu, and the only similarity is grappling).
AlexLococo 4 days ago
@AlexLococo ...TKD is directly related & derived from KungFu, that's why you'll see exactly similar kicks like the Tornado kick & 540 kick from both arts. Jujustsu, Judo, & BJJ have distinct and specific similarities because of their history, again they all came from a similar origin hence the similarities. Simply watch any KungFu demo videos here & compare it to any Kalari videos, you can't deny the differences or in this case, no similarities whatsoever in execution, form, & style.
gbb357 4 days ago
@gbb357 However, savate does not has any relationship with kung fu, nor any relationships eastern martial art. Judo evolved from jujitsu, catch wrestling from folk wrestling, and are very similar and have no relationship between them. Aikido and Judo from jujutsu, and the first one is about small joint manipulation, the other one about throws, takedowns and ground-work.

kalari is more than just kicks there is an entire part dedicated varma meaning secret shot attacks...giving blows on nerves they can paralyze you with one blow. then there is URUMI the most lethal sword ever! you also have daggers, 6 six feet long sticks, short sticks. without doubt this was martial arts designed to kill not defend ...it was for war and it uses more weaponry than any arts i know
arulisms 3 months ago
@arulisms ...I never said Kalari is just kicks, & base on that pathetic retarded kick on 1:56 of this video, Kalaripayatu is definitely not about kicks at all. It's quite obvious from that pathetic retarded kick that Kalaripayatu does not know how to kick, at least not in martial arts form & function. All of these examples you've posted has nothing to do with KungFu, period.
gbb357 3 months ago
@arulisms ..Watch the videos that i posted, and you'll see the obvious huge differences. In style, form, execution, coordination, & technique. It's not even close.
gbb357 3 months ago
@gbb357 you don't see the difference of purpose and time... kalari isn't just a martial art... it's also a philosophy... and to the part of style... you know in times of war it doesn't matter if the kick is done in the correct "style", cause this is predictable for an experienced fighter... stop spewing shit and get your facts straight... you're just seeing it as a martial art for streetfighting. But the truth is, that it's invented for war... I'd like to see u fighting someone with real weapons
DarkReanimation 2 months ago
@DarkReanimation ..I'm not talking about the philosophy. I'm simply disputing the obvious BULLSHIT CLAIM AND LIE that KungFu came from Kalari. There's no credible factual proof to back up that BS LIE, PERIOD. And i'm not just talking about fighting with weapons either, i'm talking about KungFu in general, with or without weapons. The retarded pathetic kick at 1:56 says a lot, that would never ever be taught in any martial arts because it is retarded & pathetic & useless.
gbb357 2 months ago
@DarkReanimation ..Who the hell is talking about "WAR", this video is a simple demo, it's suppose to look coordinated, technically fluid, & artistic. Instead it looked retarded, sloppy, & completely uncoordinated. You want more epic sloppiness, check the move at 0:26, now that's retarded. I will admit the two young boys looked very sharped as they should be. You're right, in war, if you execute that retarded kick, you'll be dead, it's quite predictable, slow, & useless.
gbb357 2 months ago
@gbb357 yeah, and you know how it's done right? are you out of your mind or didn't your father catch you after he threw you up in the air? maaaann... kalari was meant to be usefull if you're fighting in a war... so it's obious it's meant for war... and this kick is sloppy and easy to predict... but it's so easy, that you can combine it with a slash of a dagger or something else... that's that what makes the difference
DarkReanimation 2 months ago
@gbb357 it may look sloppy, but if it's done fast you won't be able to predict it... you know it yourself, that's why you're still writing here... so cut the crap and shut your trap... and yes kung fu wasn't invented by the indians alone, but kalari had a big influence... and if you look at the manner and the philosophy it's very close to kung fu... i suppose i've told you enough, you should now research on your own and you will see the truth... -.-
DarkReanimation 2 months ago
@DarkReanimation....Against a decent and knowledgeable fighter or a martial arts practitioner, you wouldn't be able to get that close to kick the shin, you'll get dropped before you even get that close. What influence are you talking about, exercise and philosophy has no direct correlation with the martial arts itself. Yes they eventually taught and implemented it together with the monks. But you can learn KungFu without buddhism, but you have to start at a very young age.
gbb357 2 months ago
@DarkReanimation ...You haven't told me shit that i haven't heard over and over again. It's the same bullshit lie that has no facts to back it up with. I don't need to do any more research, i'm not the one spreading bullshit lies.
gbb357 2 months ago
@gbb357 if you would study history you would know that a lot of things aren't really backed up, but you try to get as near as possible to the truth through research... so if you look at how buddism and martial arts began to spread in the asian region you will easily see that kalari was also one of the major martial arts which was a big inspiration for kung fu...
DarkReanimation 2 months ago

Again, show some factual credible proof, you can't.
gbb357 3 months ago
I think what he's talking about is a Indian monk came to the Shaolin and taught them Yoga excersises. The Shaolin to this day do many strength and flexibility training based in Yoga and so does Kalaripyattu.Fighting techniques of"Kung fu"is a very broad term and covers a vast aray of styles, time periods, land radius. There's probably Thousands of "Kung fu" styles, but alot of the training comes from Indians, at least in the most famous Kung fu place, Shaolin =) Not ALL kung fu is from there lol
ChamorruWarrior 2 months ago
@ChamorruWarrior ...The only thing that came from India or Bodhi are exercises and Buddhism, that's it.
gbb357 2 months ago
That's what I mean, like Yoga stretching and strengthening and stuff. Hitting people is alot older than India and everyone created their own versions of that haha

@anatheistmyself ...There's nothing negative about the truth. You obviously can't handle the truth. Spreading LIES and FALSE CLAIMS like Bodhi taught KungFu and that KungFu came from India, now that's full of negativity.
gbb357 2 months ago
@gbb357 kung Fu was invented when there was no boundaries between the two countries because at that tim e there was no China or India...
so the TRUTH is... Kung Fu was invented by a person named Dharma lama. he was a man of Indian race (he was brown color, and he was not a mongoloid like chinese people) Even the Shoulin monks say that this is true...
Rikthful 2 months ago
Just because all the proofs and artifacts are destroyed, doesnt mean that Kalari was not the basis for the development of Kung Fu....Kalari is the base of martial arts...brought from India to China by the great master Bodhidharma.
sloane2002 3 months ago
@sloane2002 ....They weren't destroyed, they never existed. Check out the kick on 1:56, you will never find that retarded kick in KungFu & it would never be taught either. Actually, that retarded kick would never ever be taught in any martial arts.
gbb357 3 months ago
yick yack this yick yak that...indian were the first..chinese were the first...this will lead us no where brothers and sisters..i found that both chinese and indian martial arts are both beautiful and effective..
weissen888 3 months ago
@weissen888 ...You see that's the difference, no one that officially represents KungFu have ever publicly & arrogantly claimed that KungFu is the "MOTHER OF ALL MARTIAL ARTS", or that KungFu started martial arts, or the original martial arts, or any other ridiculous arrogant BULLSHIT CLAIM/LIE. What's makes this claim by Kalaripayatu more ludicrous is the fact that it is no where near or similar than KungFu,
gbb357 3 months ago
@weissen888 An indian Who known as Bodhidharma taught Chinese Self defense.
TheSilentdarkmuse 3 months ago
@TheSilentdarkmuse ...Obviously Bodhi don't know how to kick base on the pathetic kick on this video at 1:56.
gbb357 3 months ago
@gbb357 Brother, I am not Comparing, i am saying an indian was the one who gave chinese that knowledge, moreover.
TheSilentdarkmuse 3 months ago
@TheSilentdarkmuse ...That's my point, there's no comparison. Hence Kalaripayatu has nothing to do with KungFu, therefore the Bodhi LIE IS A LIE. Again, show factual credible proof. What part did an Indian gave the Chinese the knowledge in martial arts when there's no proof & there are no similarities what so ever. Especially when it's obvious in this video at 1:56 that kalaripayatu cannot execute a kick and has a retarded kick of their own, i mean who kicks like that, seriously.
gbb357 3 months ago
@gbb357 Present day chinese, japanese world worship dharma as their guru, they know about Bodhidharma, and please read wikipedia, it's mentioned there that Dharma was the one who trained chinese, and possibly Kalarippayattu, an indian maritial art purposefully should match chinese maritial arts, Bodhi left India and practiced zen in Chinese, Frankly, That time, an indian surely did not had any knowledge of Zen, and It's a wonder, that how come an INDIAN be a GURU of Chinese, can't reason!
TheSilentdarkmuse 3 months ago
@TheSilentdarkmuse ..WRONG! Wiki doesn't prove shit. I've read all of that from Wiki, that's not factual credible proof. Just so you know, not everything on the internet is true, especially from wiki. Bodhi taught Buddhism, Zen, & exercise but it does not equate to KungFu or martial arts. Bodhi probably didn't even know any martial arts, let alone KungFu, because there's no proof. Again show me factual credible proof, you do know what that means. Who can't reason now!
gbb357 3 months ago
@TheSilentdarkmuse ...Furthermore, Kalaripayatu cannot match with KungFu, not in style, execution, and form. Just watch the retarded kick on 1:56, who kicks like that. No martial arts has a retarded kick like that. Now that's proof! So again, who can't reason now.
gbb357 3 months ago
@TheSilentdarkmuse ...Again, that kick on 1:56, you will never find that in KungFu or any other martial arts. That's just simply retarded, uncoordinated, & quite sloppy. That's enough proof & a solid one.
gbb357 3 months ago
@gbb357 I mean to say, Bodhi lived in china and made himself, enlightened himself, and definitely it doesn't mean there should be some source which says, yes!, Kalaraipattu and chinese maritial arts should be same, only for the reason Bodhi trained them, in wiki it's wrote, Bodhi trained their "weak" bodies, One more thing, History says something, Various people has different voices, but the facts may vary, History only gives the bottom line.
TheSilentdarkmuse 3 months ago
@TheSilentdarkmuse...WRONG AGAIN! The fact is and the bottom line is, there's no factual credible proof that bodhi knew any martial arts let alone taught one, specifically KungFu, PERIOD. All this claim is, ARE LIES, FOLK LORE CRAP, & BULLSHIT STORY.
gbb357 3 months ago
@gbb357 If you feel that's crap, then you should definitely prove it to people and enlighten them, and change the "History"
What could have been?
What should have been?
What would have been?
Firstly we don't know how many Maritial arts dharma knew, It's hard to tell, check this endotwikipediadotorgslashwikislashChinese_martial_arts
TheSilentdarkmuse 3 months ago
@TheSilentdarkmuse ..I didn't say i feel that it's crap, I KNOW IT'S CRAP. Any LIES are always CRAP. I don't have to prove anything at all, i'm not making up any LIES & BULLSHIT CLAIMS. You're getting the point, nobody really knows if Bodhi knew any martial arts at all, so to make up such BULLSHIT CLAIM is quite pathetic. I honestly could careless about wiki, that's not proof, anyone can make up shit & post it on wiki, there are more articles in the net that disproves this LIE.
gbb357 3 months ago
@TheSilentdarkmuse ...So you haven't commented about the retarded kick on 1:56 on this video. Are you avoiding it or you're just in denial. See if you can find that kind of retarded kick from KungFu or any other martial arts, guarantee you can't.. You know why, because it's inefficient, sloppy, uncoordinated, & quite retarded, not to mention it's useless.
gbb357 3 months ago

DarkReanimation 2 months ago
@gbb357 that's your only point... the kick...and you know what, if you do the kicks always the same way you'll get predictable, and that would be your end in war... and you wouldn't expect such a kick from a martial artist, so if he would do it fast enough, it could mean defeat...
DarkReanimation 2 months ago
@DarkReanimation ..That retarded pathetic kick is just one of the many points that proves Kalari has nothing to do with KungFu. It doesn't matter how fast that kick is, it's utterly useless, sloppy, uncoordinated, & retarded. Who the hell kicks like that & expect any results or any use from it. It's simply useless & retarded. Watch MMA & you'll see what an effective & proper leg kick should be.
gbb357 2 months ago
I could see rampage walking through these guys. But how about a Kalarippayattu master? doubtful. Just because these guys arent using their style very practically (or for more show reasons) does not mean Rampage & Bisping, can walk over every Kalarippayattu practicioner. real talk.
trueogre618 3 months ago
What's with all the hate; seriously UFC fans are so retarded.
DaddyWarbucks452 3 months ago
@DaddyWarbucks452 ...Uhh, nobody mentioned anything about UFC up until some jackass said that Bisping & Rampage would get their asses kicked by these guys. So who's the retard?
gbb357 3 months ago
@DaddyWarbucks452
There is a reason why there is so much hate. Look at them in the video. They aren't fighting. They are dancing. UFC uses MMA for a reason...because it is practical. This martial is so impractical, I mean look. They aren't even trying to fight. There were even a few times that they flipped just for the fuck of it.
macbeasty 3 months ago
@macbeasty ...Never mind the dancing, i can actually respect & appreciate that, many martial arts have it because that's part of their art. This on the other hand is just utterly ridiculous in regards to it's stupid CLAIM/LIE that it's the mother of all martial arts & that Kung Fu came from it. Just check out the stupid move on 0:24 & more retarded kick on 1:56. Uncoordinated, no technique, & quite sloppy & this was actually for show & a demo, makes it more pathetic.
gbb357 3 months ago
@gbb357 Historically, the art can be traced to the Middle Ages, or ca. the 11th to 12th century, more specifically to the account by historian Elamkulam Kunjan Pillai who attribtues the birth of kalari payat to an extended period of warfare between the Tamil Kingdoms Cheras and the Cholas in the 11th century AD.
While it is clear that various forms of martial arts have been practiced in China since antiquity, very little detail on specifics can be recovered for times predating the 16th century.
praj92 3 months ago
@praj92 ....Okay, "The earliest references to Chinese martial arts are found in the Spring & Autumn Annals (5th century BCE)"where a hand to hand combat theory, including the integration of notions of "hard" & "soft" techniques is mentioned. " Fact, there's no similarities in technique, style, execution, & form between kalaripayatu & KungFu. Just watch & compare all the videos here in youtube between the two. YOu have to be blind or in denial not to see the obvious & complete differences.
gbb357 3 months ago
@gbb357 Bodhitara Chadili was the 3rd son of the king of Koshi in Southern India. He was a Buddhist monk who lived during the 5th/6th century AD and is traditionally credited as the leading patriarch and transmitter of Zen to China. According to Chinese legend, he also began the physical training of the Shaolin monks that led to the creation of Shaolinquan.
praj92 3 months ago
@praj92 ...To imply & assume that the Chinese did not know how to defend their country & did not know any martial arts before Bodhi came is utterly ludicrous. Almost as ludicrous as this LIE that bodhi taught KungFu when there is no factual credible proof to back it up with. Just as there is no factual credible proof that bodhi even knew any martial arts, let alone taught KungFu. So again, where's the factual credible proof, not theories, not speculations, & not folk lore made up stories.
gbb357 3 months ago
love and respect! To all the haters, relax its a demonstration but if needed they could damage.

Trust me, Bisping & Rampage would tear these guys in this video a new A-hole without breaking a sweat.
gbb357 3 months ago
hey mother fucker do u know wht fight quest is its just a demonstration to show that doug and jimmy are the best actually it doesnt seems to me that they r the best if its a real fight they would hav got fucked up by an INDIAN
sebinxavier 3 months ago
@sebinxavier ...Yeah okay, demonstration my ASS. It was a demonstration of how useless this kalaripayatu crap is, that's why Doug & Jimmy embarrassed, humiliated, & repeatedly bitched slapped those kalaripayatu expert's asses. With simple take downs & basic strikes. Doug & Jimmy certainly aren't the best, not even close, which made it more embarrasing for those kalari fighters. Tell me how many best fighters out there that's a Kalaripayatu practitioner or Indian, none what so fucking ever.
gbb357 3 months ago
@sebinxavier ...Please explain to me again what the fuck is that move on 0:24 or 0:26 & WTF are those kicks on 1:56, who the fuck kicks like that.. Seriously, that's probably the most retarded kicks i've seen & retarded grappling attempt or whatever the fuck it was that i've ever seen. Try to explain those moves, i bet you can't, other than fucking retarded, uncoordinated, sloppy, & no fucking technique what so ever which pretty much describes what Kalaripayatu is.

Kalari TRUTH:
In Sangam, Kalari was not used as a martial act according to Dick Luijendijk, a researcher at the university of Nijmegen. "Kalari" is a centre of learning in Kerala. they taught language, math etc. later on, there were fight schools, thats what "payattu kalari" means.
angryaznman 4 months ago
LOL, really, good coordination, are you serious, why don't you check the "coordination" between 0:25 to 0:28, or exactly 0:26, and who the fuck kicks like that at 1:56 or throws strikes like that. I am honestly impressed with the two young kids with their speed & flexibility, but the technique & coordination is still very sloppy. More proof that there is no way that this has anything to do with Kung Fu or any other martial arts, period. There's no factual credible proof & no similarities at all.
gbb357 5 months ago
@gbb357 Dude, What you think, a martial artist would fight exactly the way they r taught in the classes if they are in real fight? Martial arts whether its kungfu, Jujitsu, Muay Thai, Kalaripayattu etc makes you fitter, gives you better reflexes( which is very important in a real fight!) and gives you discipline which teaches you not to pick a fight. If you are not still not convinced try to pick a street fight a Kungfu/MuayThai/karate guy and tell me how much moves they used from the textbook.
Runciedany 5 months ago
@Runciedany ...I'm into MMA, so i know exactly what you're talking about. But you can execute simple basic kicks, i know this for a fact and from experience. But this video is not a real fight, it's a demo and choreographed. Those moves on 0:26 is just simply retarded, and those kicks on 1:56 is even more retarded. Whether they were real strikes or demos, they're just simply ridiculous, useless, and absolutely had no technique. Not to mention that they were sloppy and uncoordinated.
gbb357 5 months ago
@gbb357 i agree with what your saying... but you have to remeber that this is and ancient figthing art that was once used for war, which goes alot further then show off mma. This style is more simplified because of how old it is so it lacks some modern techniques. But i would say this would be more dangerous then mma more so because of weapons. People like you today see martial arts a practice and not a killing art which is why fighting systems were invented. Show respect!
aznien9 4 months ago
@aznien9 ...First & foremost, i respect all martial arts, what i don't respect is Kalaripayatu's BULLSHIT LIE & CLAIM. Anything with weapons is more dangerous, MMA is hand combat so it's no comparison. Most martial arts have fatal blows & moves, especially in MMA with Jiu Jitsu. There is nothing simplified about the moves on 0:26 & 1:56, it's just ineffective & retarded. Those kicks are useless & so as that grappling move. Stop this BULLSHIT CLAIM & LIE if you they want respect.
