Wouldn't it be awesome to see the shit storm if they changed the lyric "They all went rat tat tat and shot the Taliban where they sat at!" Ooo talk about controversy and by the way folks they are the enemy wither we like it or not.
I am so lucky and privileged to have seen Barbra Streisand in FUNNY GIRL. She was incredible -- touching, funny, warm, hilarious and a voice that sounded extraordinary in the Winter Garden. I was very young at the time but even then I knew I was witnessing show business history.
My mom worked with Meehan on his next show. After Danny Meehan did this one with Streisand, he did Bagley's The Decline & Fall of the Entire World as Seen Through the Eyes of Cole Porter in NYC. He came to our house once. Those were awesome years. Great years for the musical theatre.
Barbra's final performance occurred on Saturday evening, December 25, 1964, not on Sunday evening, December 26th as she claims in her bios. Mimi Hines opened on Monday evening, December 27th. I am certain of this because I was at both performances, with ticket stubs to prove it. But if you require further proof, go to the New York Times archives. Eddie Ryan on this sound bite is played by Lee Allen, who also played Eddie Ryan in the film.

Very cool....and great quality recording for that time.
Does anybody know what year (and month) she concluded her run on Broadway with Funny Girl?
Thank you for sharing this gem!
