  • the camera work is fucking nifty

  • I wish I could get this as an mp3 or maybe if they would release this as an extra on an album. This is amazing!

  • i want a full album of science and maybe fungus acoustics, maybe just medium, speak free, the answer, and hilikus would be good.

  • Can´t love this more!

  • I prefer the ´plugged´ studio version....

  • The best thing about when Incubus does acoustic versions is that you could imagine it being written in acoustic

  • I wonder if Mikey ever gets tired of playing the Acoustic version of all there old really crunch Kickass songs. Mike seems like the kind of dude who wants to kick some ass on stage, along side Jose.

  • They played this at a concert I went to. (Only it wasn't the acoustic version) Holy shit and I flipped the fuck out.

  • I'm sick of painting it black and white, my penis dry now i'm uptight. <3

  • @101freakshow haha did you mean penis or did you forget the space?

  • @Sackandjam I did that on purpose haha

  • Brandon Sings about your higher self, which everyone has, you are more then you think you are. The Pineal Gland.

  • @GuitarLegend06 I totally agree with you mate :)

  • Not too much to say another great tune from this awesome band... = )

  • also, press 8. what is this young lady trying to tell us?

  • S.C.I.E.N.C.E needs to be re-released like this.

  • @makeyourself9 Yes! Between this, Certain Shade of Green, and all their other acoustic videos they have, I would possibly love this album as acoustic more so than the original.

  • I danced in my room.... I won't lie

  • @certinshadeofgreen cheers to that

  • awesome camera work, on the whole dvd too

  • SOOO FUCKING BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!

  • Mike never ceases to amaze me with his creativity and the way he can reimagine his own songs; so perfectly on display here.

  • the only difference i hear is instead of Ted Koppel is big brother but can't make out the rest at the moment.

  • GO MIKE, BEN, CHRIS, JOSE.... and that other guy! lol

  • how can i download this? I can't get it on amazon since it isn't released but i'd like to hear it in my ipod...

  • As much as i adore the original version or Redefine I love how Brandon tweaked the lyrics. I feel like they fit better but that's just my two cents. Ben has some killer vocals, too.

  • meh

  • amazing band..

    damn brandon marry me..hahaha

  • Amazing!!!!!!!!!

  • Seriously think this is awsome !!

  • oh the things you fine men do to me

  • Wow this version was awesome haha, god I love everything they do Live, it's just so unpredictable. I wish they would play something from S.C.I.E.N.C.E. without modifying it though, I kinda miss that album whenever they play onstage.

  • Mike = Zach de la Rocha

  • @kurtcobainRIP where do you see that? lol

    i dig your name though=]

  • @kurtcobainRIP care to explain why?im a bit confused...

  • love.

  • I just get mind-fucked everytime I listen to Incubus. Innovators of music, beyond measure, it's just ridiculous. God bless these guys, I'm so fortunate to have seen them live in Philly. One of the greatest days of my life.

  • 2:07 Lighting makes Ben look white.

  • I love Brandon & Ben in this. It's funny.

    2:18 Brandon: I'm the singer.

2:24 Ben: I can sing, too!

2:30 Brandon: Ok, but I'm the singer

2:35 Ben: lol, Ok, you're the singer.

Also, the singing has a funky sound, the harmonies in particular.

  • band of never ending process.

  • I love this version of redefine! They just go awesome together, without Brandon they'd be nothing. Without mike they'd be nothing. Without Ben, without Jose, Chris... To me as far as looks i have a huge crush on Brandon but the band isn't held by the "cutest" member. they all are awesome.

  • ben kenny destroys the backup vocals. i'd love to hear him harmonize on every single line

  • thw whole band is ekual as awsome<3

  • Holy SHIT.... THAT IS AMAZING.

  • FFFUUUUUUUU Blew my mind!!..... FFFFUUUUU

  • their new cd was lacking, their old ones by far were alot better.

  • @finebassfisher The new cd was a greatist hits cd. Some of the songs were unreleased and 2 were new. Personally i loved it.

  • @negutiv i meant Light Grenades

  • WHAT A SEXY SONG!

  • I love this version

  • anyone know where you can download this version???

  • @tani99999 haha you made me laugh out loud there. Great way to look at music ;)

  • i would fuck this song

  • noob

  • I can't grasp how this band makes me feel. My heart races when i hear them, and i always end up in tears. I love incubus, and i love you brandon, you are genius.

  • this is not just epic, but its also beautiful♥

  • I love when Ben does back-up vocals.

  • brandon is an excellent song writer couldnt really understand the lyrics in the other version but now i can and its a fuckin good song

  • this is ...soo ...i duno i cant explain it..

its just too good for words..unbelievably good...

  • this is exactly how i imagined the acoustic version, gotta love these boys innovative ways of remaking classic hits

  • both pretty good, but i like the album version miles miles more

its an awesome song on record, depends what kind of heaviness of music you like i suppose.

  • this is real incubus right here

  • @stett99 wow i hate to be THAT GUY.. but really dude THIS shitty excuse for a remake of a great song is REAL INCUBUS??? have u ever even heard S.C.I.E.N.C.E !!!!!! fungus amongus enjoy incubus make yourself even??? THAT !!! is real incubus not this wanna be the police bullshit that a 12 year old girl would listen to. Incubus without dirk lance = EPIC FAILURE. ^_^ Rant Complete ENJOY YOUR DAY!!

  • Just one more reason why Incubus is by far, the most creative band with untapped talent being released with every revisited and new song. They don't slow down, they don't back peddle, they just keep the creative juices flowing. If I could live in their minds for one minute, or be at that jam session where they all start re-creating an old song, I think I would die from an overdose of uphoria.

  • @FretsFearMe0401

You'd probably get high as fuck! haha'

    Love these guys

  • Well said!

  • You couldn't have said it better, they are truly an incredible band they blow my mind every time. @FretsFearMe0401

  • @FretsFearMe0401 i like that man. thats the comment iv been looking.

  • @FretsFearMe0401 my exact thoughts :)

  • I love incubus acoustic. So much more natural.

  • I like this version, its the complete opposite of the original redefine, calmer, just all-round nicer, not that im taking anything from the original, that was great too!

  • @ znoah : just because it doesn't suit YOUR taste doesn't mean it's bad. If you don't like it, listen to the original then O_o .

I think this is a good version too! Incubus never fails =) Favorite band by far!

  • to be fair, i'm a post-science incubus fan, it's the only album i don't listen to anymore and i sold the cd for like 2 pounds. this version is so much better than the album version.

  • mike owns the guitar :) awesome!

  • this version "redefined" the song...

I used to not notice this song.... now it's like damn it what's this? shit it's good...

  • I love the album version of this track but this version shows how much they have grown as a band. The original version does sound abit like a Faith No More/Chili pepper type track. This version is nothing but Incubus all the way! My favourite band of all time!

  • this is the sickest version of this song. period

  • I cant stand you assholes that think Brandon boyd is the only important figure in the band.

  • Who thinks that? Young twenty year olds that just started to like them? I think they're all talented...Mike co-writes some of the songs...and they make the music together as a band...it's just easier to fix your attention to the person singing the lyrics...

  • @Mbizal THANK YOU.

  • @Mbizal you're right. however, without brandon boyd, there would be no incubus.

  • @Mbizal Thanks for posting this.

  • I've always been a massive Incubus fan and I think this is a superb version

  • haha its funny reading the older comments saying ben kenney can't slap...

  • your comment should have 100 thumbs up

but hey...there's bunch of retards in youtube :S

  • The lyrics have some diferences from the original, I can't understand what are those diferences, can anyone tell me? For example, what does brandon says instead of "No matter what Ted Koppel says on Channel 4 tonight"?

  • Personally, I think the live version of this song is better than the studio one. But that's just me

  • This is a really good song and video as well.... I love this band!

  • This is so cool love the part where ben falls in with the singing good bass and a good singer... :D

  • I can't believe I've never heard this version before! Wow! <3 Ben Kenney, he's super multi-talented. This song in the SCIENCE version was probably the highlight for me at their concert this year, and i just saw that there was an acoustic version. It's like they can have two separate albums for every record they make, and each will be equally fantastic, yet completely different vibes. This is cool and laid back, while the metallish version is a complete headbanger.

  • not bad but i still love d original version..still d best

  • I remember me singing as loud as i could this while they were playing it on stage and realizing that i didnt remember the name of it

    Great Song

  • Mike is feelin it.

  • ridiculous

  • AWSOME song, and Ben Kenney KILLED those back up vocals! =)

  • Comment removed

  • i love the original but this sounds fuckin awesome too!!! I was lucky enough to be able to see incubus from the stage..theyre awesome live

  • lol we painted a picture now we drowning in the paint... you know the rest. great lyrics.

  • these mufuckas are the shit. it looks like ben kenny is enjoying this lol.

such a great version. fucc that dude DJJaycid hes gay

  • This is THE BOMB

  • you've got to be kidding me.

  • 2:17 =)

  • This arrangement is brilliant. Ben tears up the back up vocals.

  • oh that acoustic picking :43 is so sick. this is right on!

  • god i love this

  • Never thought i'd here this in acoustic.... XD it's wicked

  • probably one of the greatest bands on this fucking planet

  • It's amazing how ten seconds of music can do to you. *faints at 2:42 - 2:52*

  • Incubus is my fav band. I love how their sound changes.

This version is just fucking kewl

  • i cant help my self but i think this version of song is little better. Sience was good CD but this is great...

  • CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME I WANNA KNOW WHAT BRANDON IS SAYING AFTER FUSE THE TWO blahblahereandhere SEEMS THAT HE CHANGED THE LYRICS A BIT MANY THANKIES DUDES&DUDETTES

    OXOXOOO

    INCUBUS IS LOVE

  • On the CD he says "KAPOW! What are you now?!" On here I think he just skipped the "KAPOW and mumbled." Hope it helps! 8D

  • ooooooooohh okay theen yes it helps haha so when i sing to it i just have to mumble woohoow heaps of thankies! <3

  • fuse the two and look what have you know?

your the human magic marker wontcha please surprise my eye

  • i think he says "what are you now", the old lyric was "kapow"...."the human magic marker"

  • haha weeell it could be. but i dont know somehow what i heard is "fuse the two what do you look at now?" BUT MANY THANKIES EVERYONE! <3

  • fuse two: ellllooookkk what r now...

    ?????????maybe.....

    i hope it'll redefine itself...

  • or maybe hes says "look what are u now?" . He definitely mumbles.

  • the lyrics are "fuse the 2 KAPOW what are you now".he just skipped the kapow&stretched out the"what are you now"

  • OYEAH 1 MORE 1 MORE what the heck did he say at this part: "it's in your nature you can paint whatever picture you like" then it doesn't sound like "no matter what ted koppel says on channel 4 tonight" =D dont you think? =P teeeheeee

  • i think he was referring to Big Brother in one of those George Orwell novels XD then again I couldn't completely understand the line...

  • 1984. i think they mention it in talk shows on mute, too. they're lyrics are brilliant.

  • I like this version better, not to say the original isn't amazing but why does everyone hate on Ben? I think he is a great addition to incubus and I think he brings more to the table then Dirk ever did. Take a listen to Ben's bass solo in the live sick sad little world its so so sick.

  • beautifull , its great they are able to re invent there songs . it shows that incubus are one of the few bands out there who are always trying to re invent thier sound , and just through listening to their music you can tell they have matured as people and in thier music. music . great percussion.

  • the acoustic version for "a certain shade of green" was fine... but.. this??..

la version acustica de "a certain shade of green" fue buena, pero esta?.. que gay... no me gustó.. le quita todo el power.

  • QUE MAL... A MÍ ME MATA :D

  • si tu eres un fan de incubus toda cancion q escriba te gustara si no eres fan no te pongas a hablar demas

  • i know what you mean, this version is kinda sub-par

  • this song is nothing without dirk lance

and should never be preformed acoustic

  • this isnt meant in acoustic but its prolly cuz ben kenney cant play dirk lances creation

  • Hell yeah the original bass line was so kicking. I don't like this version.

  • Yes, Ben Kenney the man that can play guitar, bass and drums cant play the bassline of someone that had to have their basslines written for them... makes sense.... this version rules!

  • hahah your retarded dirk lance wrote hi sown bass lines do you think anyone else in the band could come up with the slap bass line to this song? na i dont think so u dont no shit

  • Why call some one retarded for having a different view. Mike has gone on record that Dirk was lazy with writing his basslines. Just because he plays slap bass doesn't mean it was written for slap bass.

  • na you really dont know what your talking about haha you can have that opinion i suppose but i play bass and trust me dirk lance is ALOT better then ben kenney at bassTRUST me, he got lazy writing bass lines after morning view you should listen to the whole science album.

  • i personally believe they are different bassists and didnt ben say he didnt want to duplicate dirks style while he player older material? either way i like both bass players so i choose to enjoy incubus

  • Holy fuck i love this song !

  • mike is a fucking beast!!!

  • i love the original, and i also love the coustic....nicee

  • sick of limiting myself to fit your definition

    REDIFINE!!

    think about it

  • ummm OK ? lol

  • it made a lot of sense with poobustank coment....=D

btw it sucks when people supress others opinions stop rating comments ( in general no one in specific )

  • yes..dirk was a great bassist...but you obviouslt have no idea the musical genius that Ben Kenny is...he is one of the single most talented people ive ever seen and he is not only a great bassist...but hes a smart bassist, writing parts that you wouldnt normally expect..so there is a point in playing it still..

  • Comment removed

  • same lyrics, same song but acoustic... genius

  • wow fucking amazing i was there in Chicago for that concert like 3 rows from the front

  • Besides Brandon...who else has a great vocals?

  • a man named Ben Kenney

  • man, this is a great redo! And Ben's a fantastic back up vocalist. I hope they include a studio version of this on their Greatest Hits CD theyre working on...my ipod would look good wearing this song in its library...

  • Does anyone know how to play this on guitar?

    Or have a good tab

  • i can't stop listening to it...i love it so much...they should really make a studio recording for this version.

the original still rocks, and damn...this one too. Anyway...Incubus...big applause, best band in the world, especially their eclectic music style.

i wonder if they'd make another version of Deep Inside, or Azwethinkweiz (they should really play that song again live)

  • yea i know

i really want a studio version of this

  • I totally agree especially about azwethinkweiz that is a great song

  • This makes me think of the simpson's theme song.

  • mike is the man!

  • im so agree with you TGxDarkMaverick ... not even a great artist can cover any of their songs, they are autenthic, INCUBUS IS ONE AND ONLY.... THE BEST BAND IN THE WORLD.... totally

  • No other band can take their songs and change them like this

    true talent...

  • (8)lets figure out what the f*ck its about, before the picture we painted chews up and spits us out(8)

  • does anyone know what kind of guitar strings are used here?

  • There is no other band that will EVER do anything the way incubus does. They are so unique and absolutely incredible. This version is awesome.

  • This Song F'ing Rockz.

  • Imagine your brain as a canister filled with ink

  • and imagine your body as the pen where the ink resides

  • Hhahahaha, what the girl is doing on 2:42 ???

  • Fungus Amoungus is one of my fav. album... btw i love all their albums...

  • Except this is from S.C.I.E.N.C.E...

  • Except this song is from S.C.I.E.N.C.E...

  • im sic of painting in black and white i didnt understand it for the longest time

  • oh my god. this was really hard to identify in the beginning (it sounded nothing like the original "redefine" in the beginning) but wow! i love how mystic it was, a true treat. thank you incubus and robloveshannah for posting this!
