  • Just like to thank you for getting me started playing a mandola. After watching your video I got the hang of it...and play this tune now just after a few days of your tuition. Thanks again.:)

  • @100erebus I am glad I have been useful for someone !

  • Nickel pour m'accompagner au whistle!

    ;-)

  • I wont recommend to tune up a D string to E. The tension might be to high :

    - The string could break

    - The sound might be too hard and too short (lack of sustain)

    - The tension might be harmful for the instrument (neck, table) and unbalanced.

FYI, on my bouzouki, the recommended gauge is .011 for D and .009 for E (plain steel).

  • @edelahaye I will break after a few times. Hard to play as well. If you do it that way, keep it that way. Just my opinion!

  • Oooh, that's a beautiful cover.

I'll try it on my own bouzouki tomorrow (though it's tuned in GDAD). Do you know whether it's possible to tune up my D strings up an entire notch to E or just get E strings? ^^
