That would cease to exist if the government takes over health care. A government run health care system with overwhelming regulations will have devastating and dire consequences to our freedoms. We'd have rationed medical care, decreased quality of care, availability and economic disaster! Don't let the government decides who lives or dies!
Our system is not perfect but why destroy it by turning it over to those who have destroyed our Social Security system, our education system, our Medicare and Medical system, Amtrac, our housing market, our banks, our economy and continue to increase our national debt to unfathomable heights. You would trust them to take over your health care? Don't give our health, our lives, our freedom over to the government. Our care will go down our costs will go up. Listen to what these people are saying.
My son is a resident at UCLA training to be a doctor. He will have sacrificed 14 years of his life and incurred 100's of thousands of dollars of debt, worked years worth of 24 hour shifts and you would complain about the huge salary he hopes to make someday? Why didn't 79crhisgen1 become a doctor?. My son saves lives and serves in clinics that serve the poor every day throughout the LA area! Very few die compared to countries with socialized care!! Do your homework!!

Certainly the Canadian Health care system has weaknesses. However what the guests do not mention are the huge salaries the American Doctors are making in the US in comparison. Your guests did not mention that neither did they mention the many patients in the US who die before receiving treatment because of the astronomical costs of care which they could never afford!

A Doctor in the US attends school 3 times as long as other college students, interns for 3 years for peanuts, goes into approximately a quarter million dollars+ debt all to provide a valuable service to society & the do-nothing/want-everything-Lefties think all that investment in a future should be salaried the same as the person who says "Welcome to McDonalds, can I take your order?"
Oh, and by the way do a little research on the Impala Act. No one in the United States can be denied medical care regardless of their ability to pay or even their non-citizenry. If they show up at the ER, they must be treated. That's mandated by the Federal Government.
ObamaCare has absolutely nothing to do with medical treatments, it is all about controlling medical corporations, insurance companies and 1/6th the US economy. It's about POWER & CONTROL, period.
Also for your into, the Government already offers a 'Public Option" plan - it's called Medicaid/Medicare and they've mismanaged & bankrupted it along with every single thing they put their hands on.
Name one single SUCCESSFUL AND SOLVENT Government run plan.
Does your car insurance cover an oil change? No, it covers an accident.
Does your home-owner's insurance cover new paint? No, it covers fire, flood, theft etc.
Why is it that people expect their medical insurance to cover every runny nose and headache and then complain their insurance premiums are too high when it's primarily due to overuse?
