  • Have been checking your site for some years now, excellent one. Was going to buy the shark s650 from ebay (i'm not in the US) but thanks to your tips about glasses decided to try it before at a store and spot on, that helmet doesn't accept glasses. So, thanks very much and keep the good work coming. (ps: for someone who needs glasses: have a shoei RF1000 which is perfect regarding this issue, but it isn't cheap!).

  • There's no reason to use Double D ring chin straps? It's archaic and cheap.

  • I disagree. Double D-rings are almost a perfect engineering solution: They're light, super strong, no moving parts, infinitely adjustable, take up very little room... The cumbersome so-called "quick release" systems we've tried seem clumsy in comparison with parts that can break and they're big and thick and press on your neck and throat. But, that's the nature of opinions -- we all have one.

  • @Kevinsph1

Double D rings ensure the strap is always a tight fit, unlike most other securing systems which do not ensure tightness

  • How's the safety on this? :) I'm looking around for a cheaper helmet. Though I'm in Europe.

  • It meets ECE safety standards, as do all helmets legally sold in Europe. It rated a 4/5 in the UK SHARP tests. Shark is pretty much a leader in helmet safety.

  • Thanks for the answer.. I now will just need to find a shop in EU which would sell this for a normal price, cause here they add like 100-200 Euros cause of the low quantity of shops... :) Or maybe I will just grab one on Ebay, though I hope there aren't any "fake" ones there.

  • how much?

  • These reviews are designed to illustrate our detailed motorcycle product reviews on webBikeWorld, visit the site for more information.

  • they make helmets out of a strong plastic?

  • Yes, many helmets are made from ABS or other plastic composites.

  • One other thing, when you raise the shield from the fully closed position to the very first indent is the gap too BIG??? I heard someone complaining about that, just wanted to see if there is truth behind it

  • It opens larger than just a crack at the first detent, but not bothersome to me.

  • I have to return an RSI I purchased because as NICE as it fit, my big nose was rubbing up against the chinbar!! I tried on an RSF2i on a clearance rack at a local shop and it had more room for my nose. Is the RSF2i and the RSF the same thing????

Also the weights of the helmets are decieving because the RSI i had didn't feel that lighter than my old one. I'm assuming this is so because I have a small helmet which probably uses more padding which adds to the weight?

  • Not sure about the difference btwn the RSF2i and the RSF. The helmet in this review is the RSF3, a new helmet.

Unlikely the padding adds much weight; if a helmet fits properly, it may feel lighter because the weight is evenly distributed.

  • I used to have an RSF2R and in my opinion the RSF3 is the evolution of the RSF2i and RSF2R. I guess that explains the 2mm face shield. The RSX I would believe was in the league of the RSR2 and it has the same thicker faceshield and removal system.

  • Good info, thanks.

  • That looks like a REALY big vent hole in the top. I wonder if bugs could get in there.

  • Underneath the big scoop is a smaller hole with a cover, so it's unlikely that would happen.

  • Sweet video man, but I have a request. In future videos I would like to see someone wear the helmet, because Its kinda hard to tell how its going to look when its just laying on a table.

    Thanks

    5/5

  • Thanks for the feedback! The problem is, nobody here wants to have their mug splashed all over the internet! Everyone is shy I guess! ;-)

  • Hehe no problem. I still love theses videos ;)

  • Thanks, much appreciated! It takes as long to create the videos as it does to write the reviews and take the photos. There's about 16 hours in each helmet review, not counting the weeks of actually using the product... Lots of work!

  • All the hard work is evident and much appreciated.

  • Maybe you can put a thin (so he/she can breathe) black bag over the head and then put the helmet on?
