  • this is one of my faves.. though i wish they kept the ending the way they wanted.. stupid hollywood influence

  • This is not German Expressionism but Kammerspiel. It is a does not have the intricate sets and lighting of the Expressionism technique. See Murneau's "Sunrise", for example, to see Expressionism.

  • O my gosh! The clarity old nitrate film was able to capture is so wonderful! I would have to say that this film was a crowning achievement in brilliant camera work and rich in story and acting, but not of German Expressionism-- KALIGARI tops this in the abstract form of German Expressionism. How ever, I feel Murnau's guys were superior in camera technique and could not help but be influenced by the expressionists, particularly in the way they used minatures (FAUST) LAst Laugh has the drunk scene

  • @akmediascope All I know is that Max Schreck still went on with a movie career and he died 14 years after he made NOSFERATU.

  • @freddy3911 Thank you for the Max Schreck information. Apparently he outlived Murnau
