One other reply is that I live within geeksville. I am in the heart of silicon valley and I have seen from the beginning of the "tech age" to our "economic slowdown". I have friends that have worked in both mechanic jobs and high-tech jobs.  But they all have said that the high-tech job market is just a phase and that no one can keep a techno job for too long. Well, we are in a recession right now. I don't see how technology is going to get us out of it.

To tell you the truth I am a bit of a geek myself, but I also played a lot of sports in high-school and was pretty athletic. But if I had to choose between hanging out with the geeks or the sports, I would definitely choose the sportos. No offense.
