Ya this in Anak Krakatoa. The original Krakatoa self destructed in 1883. One of these days Anak will stop producing these little explosions and may blow itself apart like Krakatoa did.

Anak Krakatoa (child of krakatoa) grows at a rate of 5ft per year - an dits still growing. The original explosion was so violent it blew most of the island apart and the new island grew from beneath the sea within a matter of months. It sits directly above the Eurasian/Indonesian tectonic plate, hence the seismic activity of the area.

@JaiMac28 You aren't familiar with Krakatoa, are you, he said when it 'really blows' meaning when it has a major eruption, Krakatoa was i believe said to be the second (if not the most) violent volcanic eruption in observed and recorded history. So yes, they would probably die if it truly erupted.

The volcano Krakatoa disappeared but about a third of the original island of Rakata was left. There were submarine eruptions on the same site, and Anak Krakatau came up in 1930.

Cool, I've always been intreagued by this Volcano - I know that lake (caldera) was created by the initial explosion of it's "mother" - Krakatau....hence the name Anak - "child of"! REALLY COOL!

true about that... it was as tho someone dropped a nuke down into it a blew up the island. There was nothing above sea level left. Until Anak came to life.
