  • He just keeps the harp in his strumming hand .... by the look of it.

  • I've strummed this song forever. Anybody out there with kids? A true classic.

  • i always hear.. : I am a trout...

  • @roryisgoed HA HA HA HA!!!!!!!!!!

  • Lord Bless you Men with 110 year Life & Forever in Rock :) QC

  • hahahaha

  • I was there the Sunday of this show. It was amazing. PLUS Leon Russell and Elton John. PLUS Pearl Jam... and quite a few more great moments. Awesome show. I would have paid $500 for the ticket... and it was like $80.

  • As there doesn't appear to be one mention of the rhythm section in these comments - other than lamenting absent friends, here's to Joe Vitale (a legend!) and Rick the bass player!

  • thats great

  • Love it! I saw them last month at the Wiltern in LA and it was EPIC!

  • "For What It's Worth", I think they look great - and sound outstanding.

  • Wow! Totally convinced to see them life on their mini tour!

  • Neil's voice is great on this song.

  • One of the greatest groups ever.

  • This is the first time I've heard Ritchie sing lead ,I'm embarrassed to say. Thanks for posting this performance.

  • I can hardly get words out..... it was 1968 when these giants last performed together!!! Neil doing "I am a Child" and Richie Furay doing "Kind Woman".... I lived to hear this - and what's better - they are scheduled to do a mini-tour this year - 2011!!

  • They all got a bit fat.

And take a look at Neil's turkey neck.

  • @degree7 they look better than Hendrix, Joplin, Brian Jones, etc, etc do today.

  • @degree7

Shit dude how do you think you are going to look 42 years from now? Just like you we were never going to get old! You do as many drugs as they did and see if you can even walk or talk at their age

  • @Callenge1

Well I was looking at a video of Ritchie Furay from 2009 and he was so much thinner.

Stills, on the other hand, has been steadily putting on the weight since the 70s.

  • @degree7

Wow, really, they put on weight as they got older? How odd is that? Stills has lost about 100 pounds (not really, but a lot of weight). Check out Buffalo Springfield--Bonnaroo--2011 on YouTube. Old "turkey neck" Neil Young delivered one of the most talked about lines of the concert. "Hi, were Buffalo Springfield and were from the past."

The group was praised in Rolling Stone Mag. for that performance. They may be old but they're not done yet.

  • @Callenge1

I never said they're "done", they just got fat.

  • Kind Woman is one of my Uncle Richie's best songs ever! Can't wait to see the Buffalo in LA on the 4th of June : )

  • Becky and I witnessed this great show! Long live BS!

  • It does my heart good to see these three together again. To all you young people out there, this is what real music sounds like.

  • "king woman" reminds me of alanis morissette's "maryjane."

  • I started playing music because of these guys ... makes me cry to see them perform again. Still pack that emotional punch.

  • groovy !

  • I had the good fortune to attend this concert - yes, rain and all. Thank you for uploading this, I had no idea anyone had done so.

And to SugarDevil, agree 100% about Kind Woman. It WAS too much, and I cried thru the whole song. A once in a lifetime experience to see these guys.

  • Richie Furay killed it. he sounds great, and looks great. it's good to see he's actually enjoying himself. Stills looks like he's phoning it in. i wonder if the rumored tour will happen? or will Young back out?

  • The music, the lyrics, the emotions evoked by both are a nostalgic trip back to my youth. I always liked, really really liked, and totally enjoyed their music. The depth of their characters is evident in that they still go out there and give what it is they have to give and I enjoy it now as much as ever. Rock on guys.

  • WOW-no more comment!

  • that was an amazing show

  • @elic0707 Seeing & hearing Buffalo-Springfield in person just a few months ago was a dream come true. They were utterly fantastic! Did any of the audience even notice that it was raining on us?

  • Takes me back and up ,and I still have a fringe jacket also,Forever young.

  • Fantastic ... "Kind Woman" seems to be the song that engages Stephen the most. Neil does a fine gospel piano, and Richie proves he's still got it. Wish I'd been there

  • The music these guys make is amazing

  • Such a kindred spirit. I love this man. I eat, sleep and breathe Neil. The music is just what my life was, is and will be...God willing. Take care Neil..stay well.

  • Kanyes doing something just like this only different

  • Hard to believe how this carries the same beautiful song and feelings. Wow. Always a touching song, but they did it immaculately! Time to tour, fellas. Maybe bring Crazy Horse with you, too! Furay's and Neil's voices--so great!! They are so full of love and talent.

  • messina wasnt a founding member of the band. he only came in for the third and last album. btw, loggins and messina performed with furray's poco last year.

  • Who's the kid singin'?

  • Yes, BUFFALO SPRINGFIELD AGAIN!!!!!!! Old times were good times....

  • I wish I had know about the concert... I would have crawled there from florida to be there

  • I'm a huge Springfield fan.I didn't even know this existed. It's so great to see that these 3 have survived to reprise these two great tunes. I just always assumed that personal conflicts or something prevented a re-grouping. A few extra pounds here and there, but not bad for almost half a decade ... Where's Messina ??

  • Beautiful. Thrilling. Touching. Great music, great guys.

  • I have not the words to describe the the profound emotions i am feeling right about now. hearing these two great classics done back to back, and performed live again by the legendary super group that created them, is almost too much. the tears are coming down like rain. Ritchie's "Kind Woman", to this day, is one of my top favorites of all time, and of course a monster contribution to this awesome band. it is hard to believe these guys could not have done more stuff in the last 40 years

  • @sugardevil49 I could not have said it any better. I too have always loved Kind Woman. I contacted Richie and got a signed copy of his book on the band....nice read back to back with Shakey, about Neil Young. This was a great show and we can only hope Neil will have the sense to put a Springfield tour together.

  • @mrtrips99 yes they need to tour!

  • @mrtrips99 Interesting comment. I am not 100% sure but i do not think that Stills or Young are on the original recording of Kind women. I think that it is Messina, Young and Gratham (who would become Poco) so this is a truely rare cut.

  • @sugardevil49

    Perfectly stated. Just stunning.

  • @sugardevil49 It is indeed sad that the guys didn't do more stuff in those 40 years. But then Neil wouldn't have become the superstar he is today, there probably wouldn't have been any Rust Never Sleeps or even CSN. We can't have it all, but we can always wish..

  • @sugardevil49 I feel the same way...but they did lots of stuff over the last 40 years........the springfield lived in every song that these three wrote and played ever since...listen to poco.....the heart was there. Neil and Steve...the heart was always there....I heard it always......

  • @sugardevil49 here here!

  • Rich Furey looks and sounds great. Neil is Neil, and Stills looks like college prof after the multiple surgeries. Good to see them together.

  • @bookkeeper57 Stills always wore a suit and tie with The Buffalo Springfield. They are simply recreating the moment. Neil in the fringed jacked and Stills in the suit.

  • I forgot how beautiful Richie's voice is.

  • I love these guys, and am so happy to see them together again. But it's a bit like singalong night at the old folks' home, no?

  • I thought Messina was joining them, oh well. Great video!

  • @Fifty2222 No, Messina was not invited. They wanted to go back to the original sound.

  • It doesn't get any better than these guys. KIND WOMAN! Love it.

  • Actually Messina, nice as he was, shouldn't have been there. These were the guys, vocally, lyrically, instrumentally and spiritually. It was their night and it was magical.

  • Actually Messina should not have been there anymore than David, etc. These guys were it. The songs, vocals and sound were theirs alone. They deserved this day.

  • No dig at Messina, but he had so very little to do with this band and its legacy. If he'd been there, we would have had to sit through "Your Mama Don't Dance"...

  • @robmeurer1 good point rob.

  • Soooooooooo good!

  • God Bless the Buffalo Springfield!

  • They just like to play for the fun they had.

  • Stills looks great!

  • @3:22 - Richie is wiping tears from his eyes. Beautiful to see the love between these guys after all these years. Wish they'd record another album and/or tour.

@mrtrips99 - great job. If you have more videos, please share!

  • Great video! I loved this show and this preserves it for me. Thanks so very much!

  • THANK YOU FOR THIS GREAT VIDEO, AMAZING MOMENT IN TIME, WAS WORTH SITTING IN THE RAIN FOR HOURS FOR.

  • AWESOME VIDEO, AMAZING MOMENT IN TIME, WAS WORTH SITTING IN THE RAIN FOR HOURS. THANK YOU

  • Messina shoulda been there..I agree. Thanks for posting this....excellent visual quality! Interesting tid-bit on this song...The original players were Rusty Young and Jim Messina-origins of Poco...This is the first time the three founding members of the band played it together......Neil didn't play on it in studio until the re-recording of it on Richie's 2006 Heartbeat of Love...and, finally....I Am A Child was Neil's answer to Richie's biting..A Child's Claim To Fame.....written to Neil.

  • @scarecrowtpr Thanks for the info. I really like it when people are into the history. Tell me how you know this interesting stuff. I found it very interesting. What is the source? and thanks

  • Comment removed

  • @mrtrips99 - Actually the original group was NY, SS, RF and Dewey Martin and Bruce Palmer. Messina came during the time NY quit, rejoined and quit again

  • @scarecrowtpr Would've been good to see Jimmy there too, although he was not an "original" member of the band. Also, I believe you are mistaken about Neil not playing on it in the studio until 2006. To anyone listening to this song on the Last Time Around album it is obvious that it is Neil Young singing and playing.

  • @weallen67 My source for the info on Neil Young not playing on the original version of Kind Woman in the 1968 Last Time Around sessions was Richie Furay himself both through interviews with him that I conducted for two articles I've written about him and through his own statements in his two books, For What Its Worth and Pickin' Up The Pieces.

  • @scarecrowtpr Rusty Young played on the Last Time Around version? I didn't know that. Messina of course, but Young as well?

  • NY wears a fringe jacket again!!

  • they should have had messina on bass too

  • that certainly IS Richie!!!

  • love it ! thanks for posting !

  • Awesome video! I was there both days and these videos bring it right back...great quality. It was a once in a lifetime experience...So awesome!

  • Richie is such a sweet guy and what great vocals on 'Kind Woman'.

Stills and Young can't crack a smile....did they have a good time???

  • @oneputtchris They had an incredible time.

  • Thank you! I was there, magnificent!!!!

  • That's Richie!!!!!

  • Flawless!!!! I love you guys!

  • Long live Buffalo Springfield!

  • Thanks so much for sharing. I was there. It was magic. Hope you'll upload more of this triumph reunion of Buffalo Springfield.

  • I know they did "Clancy" on Saturday. I was there! I was prepared for the worst but it was better than I could have hoped for.

  • Both performances in this video here are absolutely beautiful. I wish they'd also done "Nowadays, Clancy Can't Even Sing" at this show.

  • @ragamuffin92 they did Clancy. It's on you tube

  • @jxronan

Thanks, I found it. That's probably my favorite Springfield song.

  • @ragamuffin92 Sorry I wasn't more specific! Glad you found it.
