@PlanktonPoker The 1st mvt is about level 6, 2nd level 5, 3rd mvt level 10 (my guesses: one with that number yrs of serious playing can learn the piece w/o much difficulty , and might master it after lots of practice)
can someone tell me more about this? title of the original sheet music i have says: "moonlight sonata (adagio) beethoven no.-2799 century ensemble edition solos or duets for flute with piano accompaniment". i bought in a thrift store. its from 1933 (copyright) it starts off differently than what is shown in this video well everything is different.
@domydirttywork yours is a rearrangement of the original piano solo work. you can find this version free at imslp. google that, or go to my webpage (video description)
Thank you! Finally, someone who realizes that it's tough to learn if you just play it at regular speed in a video. Now I can easily catch the fingering. You're awesome.
Thanks for your excellent tutorial piano lesson. You r the best teacher I have been followed. I have the question related to this piece of music . In the measures 16 (5'05),the last quarter, there is a differ bw yours and my music sheet: the left hand is two E for the 1 and 5 fingers (same in my music sheet), but for the right hand, you show 2 notes A sharp, but in my sheet it is A sharp for finger 5 and B(not A sharp) for the thump. Im get alittle cofusing. Again Thanks for gr8 tutorial
I can tell you with experience that this is the best way of teaching and learning. hand movements and the need to learn slowly is extremely important to master any piece. Importantly, once you do this and repeat parts of it, say 5 times, you will never forget it for life. It is like learning to drive a car...you first learn to drive at 5 mph to get control and then later steadily move to 100 mph. Jumping straight to 100 mph is disaster. Hats off to you, bbdhrggl. You are the real teacher.
What key is that? I learned it on guitar in Am. I don't know the chords very well, but it's Am - Am w/G - F(something) - D(something) then an Em of sorts. Also, what chord are you playing at 3:15 and the one immediately following? I tried asked someone at the guitar shop and they thought it was "(can't remember note) add 9", but they weren't sure.
Yes and no. This is hard for me to explain because on guitar I play what both your hands are playing, using only my left hand. I guess you could tell me what both hands are playing seperately... Please. But what I'm actually after is the chord that you'd be making if you played all the notes your fingers are on at the same time at 3:19. Your left hand pinky (4th) and thumb (5th?). And your right hand thumb (5th?), pointer (1st), ring (3rd) and pinky (4th) fingers.
I like the contrast between the three notes you're playing with your right hand (more specifically the sound that the note you're playing with your ring (3rd) finger adds) and just wanted to know what chord that is. And also all the notes as a chord (both hands) like I mentioned below, if possible. If that makes it more clear. Again, I'm not great with theory, I just play by ear and tablature.
I found this technique is the best and simplest, because some toturials, they show you one hand at a time, which is rather very confusing. I think watching bbdhrggl toturials, I can learn any piece. Once again thank you so much for such great videos.
I solute you for such a great video, I learned a great deal, please do me a great any your other fans a favor and post a tutorial about chopin fantasie impromptu. Thank you very much and I'll look forward to learn form your new tutorials.
@bbdhrggl Just to let you know, I am almost half way through the song thanks to you, I never played piano before until I started watching your great videos. Thank you so much.
Great videos, i would like to know how many keyboards get sold when people can learn from your videos, you should be payed for this, most exellent, thankyou.
Thank you for uploading this I am trying to learn to read sheet music and it's hard for me so this is a great subsitute ..... Do u do tutorials by request because if you do Let me know
This is cool. I think once you make a slow version, you should also play the pieces in its normal tempo. You've chosen so many beautiful pieces of music. I love ths piece, but many don't appreciate the 2nd mvt. I always hear people playing the 1st and 3rd only. I played this and it's a fun piece. It almost doesn't fit with mvts 1 & 3. It sounds like it simply doesn't belong. lol
This tutorial is amazing, the other videos either have bad quality or the person teaching cant even play it right, thank you! Greetings from the United States!
I tried to learn Moonlight Sonata from a lot of other videos on youtube but your video helped me more than 10 tutorials :D thank you for learning only beautiful songs :D greetings from Romania :)
;)) Nice,After Moonlight Sonata i will try to learn from you Enya-Only time, but it seems kind of difficult,my piano level is medium but I will do my best.Again thank you :D
@HolaHolitaHamigo00 Did you count how many notes there are in this one movement? Doing that would be absolutely no fun for me. I rather quit. Worse of all, it would spoil/ruin my students forever. Learning to reading music is their homework.
you have very big hands...
