@isaac407 & repentandfaith I don't think the vid was weird at all. I just had a friend use a few "adoption" scriptures to show how he had a right to expect certain things in life like wealth, health, etc. My friend misses the point! Do you think the girl in the vid was in the least concerned about what gifts she would get from her new parents? Tears flowed from knowing that someone loved her enough to make her part of their family forever....
@EntinludeX how could i possibly do that when the recent activities on your channel doesn't show recent comments? anyways, ive proved my point and i dont argue with trolls.
I'm not sure that saying "I love you because I love you" is that noble. Yes, God loves us because of who He is and we are called to imitate Him. However, I found that when I loved someone and was thinking in terms of "I love you because I can," prideful thoughts were more evident, and the relationship was better when I thought/spoke/acted in terms of "I love you because God has made you lovable and He has given you qualities and characteristics that naturally evoke love from others."
I didn't understand this video until i read the comments and am still confused. This is supposed to be about the doctrine of adoption? It was kind of weird...
@repentandfaith i think this girl either works for them or is part of their lives, but not related to them, and they decide to make her part of the family by adoption. That's how we are adopted into the family of God. I think that's the point, but it did seem kind of weird at first, plus posting it on youtube, i don't know. anyways, it is what it is...
Oh weird. I thought this guy was going to propose to this chick like want to marry her. I was confused. so its a girl like he wants her to be his daughter? ok.
@MaharlikaAWA Shes obviously in foster care and these are her foster parents(which are only temporary). Then once she was out of the system at 18 (in6 months). She would normally be kicked out. But this family decided they wanted to give her a permanent family and adopting her. They were complimenting her and explain how much they love her because being in foster care you feel rejection a lot because of how your biological parents were, but this family excepted her and loves her.
I didn't find that to be particularly wise. If my pastor or any other man besides my husband had his hands on me like that, I would not be so comfortable...
@oh2panama What are you talking about? He patted her arm then rubbed and patted her *upper* back/shoulder as she sobbed. There was nothing uncomfortable, unwise or inappropriate about it at all.
I might be more sensitive...I just felt wierd watching it. It was like MaharlikaAWA said above. I thought they were going to ask her to join in a threesome or something. It's just me, I guess.
The "parents" who were adopting seemed to be barely older than the "adoptee". Although touching....I think not wise. It would be interesting to revisit this situation 5 yrs from now.
Good vid. It still can't come close to capturing the depth of God's love. He didn't adopt you because you're brilliant, you're athletic, you play instruments and speak other languages. He adopted you not because of what you can do, but because of who He is.
@TheAussiepreacher The best way to tell someone that you love them is not to love them for their features, but to say I love you because I love you. In other words, there is simply something in me that desires you (that's the Father's love). I love how adoption is such a picture of His pursuit of us. What a blessing to be sons and daughters of the King.
I'm 6 feet tall. I weigh just under 300lbs. I'm a weightlifter, boxer and strongman. I cried. The absolutely beautiful picture of the doctrine of adoption in this video stirs my soul.
If you're a Jew, yes that's about you. Look at the context please. Those who were first to believe, were Jews. Eph 1:12 "first trusted"---then a verse later "you who also trusted"--would be Gentiles. See also Romans 9:3-4 for more proof of what I claim. The mystery of the Gospel is that Gentiles were added into the convenant! To become one with the Jews in who... just as you said, Eph 1:4---JESUS the Christ! Eph 1:10, 2:13, 2:14-15.. so many verses lol, Praise God!
This was a beautiful testimony of love with this family ..... just wish it didn't have the part at the end with the boy wiping fake tears away .... actually that ruined it for me : (
What is the story behind this anyway?

...adoption's NOT about, "oooh, look at the things I'm entitled too!" It's about, "Wow! I can't believe you love me!"

@oh2panama You would feel uncomfortable if your father was comforting you while crying by touching the top of your back.

Thank you. We adopted our children when they were babies, and now we have gran-babies.
Eph 1:4 According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:
