  • magnussen's gonna win the 100m free in London

he so natural unlike someone like filho or bernard, just made to swim, proly the fastest 100m freestyler ever

  • go to 3:28

  • USA all day!!! Watch what happens this summer!!!

  • i love his accent

  • @pipisthegreat ..lol...me too..a scot?

  • Didn't Garrett Weber Gale went a 47.3 in the medley relay prelims? Had he went that in the freestyle relay then USA would've won. In London I think the relay will go like this:

  • Australian population: about 24 millions

    USA population: about 320 millions

But still the australians beat them, USA sux.

  • @TheUnPlayable That has nothing to do with it. America is the best swimming country in the world hands down. If you don't believe me, look at the world records, and look at the results from Beijing, Athens, Rome, Melbourne, and Shanghai. And besides, you can't win everything. Swimming is the main sport in Australia, in America it's not even close. Most australian kids dream of being an olympic swimmer, here, our kids wanna play football and sing crappy pop music.

  • @Drumwannabe17 Any country where swimming is the main sport gets huge respect from me. It doesn't even matter how good or bad they are. Yes I'm American.

  • @KinGFr3ShL3gaCyxD theres no need say anybody sucks dude but because you started it this is what USA is all about for YOU...... "U Suck Asses!".... there, suck that!

  • @westozzy

u suck dude whats your 1 free?

  • this will be the winning relay lineup for USA. Period: Nathan Adrian leads off, Jimmy Feigen goes second, Phelps third, and Lochte anchors

  • If you look at what Australia has done in the olympic pool and consider the population pools they compete against, they are the nation that consistently punches way above it's weight. Typical of the smug, self centred American attitude ...they finish third but their supporters find it impossible to offer a gracious comment. Little wonder the US is detested in sport.

  • Garrett Weber-Gale disliked this video. ;)

  • Its going to take a 3:09 to win this event in London. The Americans need to make some changes to win though. We can't afford to have anyone split any slower than around 47.7. I think Phelps can get down to 47.6 on the leadoff leg. Adrian will need to anchor in around 47 flat. Then we need two other guys who can go at least 47.7. I just don't think Lezak is capable of that anymore with his age. I'd like to see either Matt Grevers or a youngster like Jimmy Feigan or David Nolan take his place.

  • @nehamapeter I really can't see why those two swimmers are...Nolan is too young and inexperienced. Can Cullen Jones and/or Josh Schneider fill in those two spots, maybe?

  • @likac92009 Schnieder is really just a 50m freestyler, and at this point in his career Cullen Jones really is too. He hasn't done anything in the 100m free since the relay in Beijing. David Nolan went 42.3 in scy last year setting the national high school record. Its still to be seen whether he can convert that speed to a meter pool, but I think he has as good a chance as anyone. Jimmy Feigan was 2nd at the NCAAs last year so he certainly has a lot of speed in the 100.

  • @likac92009 I think Nolan is really looking to get his name out there as someone who can compete with the best in the world. I think if he is asked to step up he will.

  • @likac92009 Ryan Lochte is another alternative.

  • @likac92009 i swim with them! :)

  • @nehamapeter I think nolan is too young, and judging how he did at nationals at palo alto I don't think he will make the olympic team. He is much better in yards than in meters, and his best even is the 200 I.M. He is very good in yards, although his meter time can't even compare to phelps and lochte. As for the 100 free, is yard time is still about a second and a half of where he should be to make the relay. The events that he is best at are events that are already almost locked up for london.

  • @nehamapeter well vieuwed and said ! Us needs 2 other guys that can swim like Adrian at least . Webber Gale is good but not that fast and Lezak is not fast enough , that's clear ... there will be surprises in the Us trials for those spots !

  • @nehamapeter There is one guy coming back to fast swimming : Anthony Ervin . he did great for his come back 2 weeks ago ...so all hopes are there for a great relay .

  • @pasadena333 Isn't he only training for the 50 free though? I don't think he ever had that great of speed in the 100 even when he won his gold medal in the 50 free.

  • You idiot Lezak split a 46.06 in bejing, he can do a 47 easy. just make sure u dont have cullen jones he almost lost it for us in bejing.

  • @jamin8110 you sir do not know anything about swimming. First of all that 46.06 was done in a suit, second he was 4 years younger than he is now, third he had the swim of his life, and fourth he split a 48.4 at worlds. If he's on this relay then we are hurting. Also don't blame Cullen Jones for almost losing the relay in Beijing. He swam a good time, it just looked slow because he was swimming against Freddy Bousquet who split 46.6

  • @s0c0mnati0n Lezak is overrated. He isn't all that. The U.S. can do without him.

  • 'James Magnussen' the missile

  • Even though we are 2de, I'm happy to see that France beat the US.

  • France lost the gold on the first leg. Bernard should have performed better there...

  • U.S. will have to do better than this at London. This wasn't bad but it has to be SUPERIOR for the Olympics. It will get more difficult than this so the U.S. better up their game in this event.

  • @beegell I agree with you on this. The U.S. can't get relaxed with this and Michael Phelps isn't good for the first leg though he has potentials. He would be better at second leg at all times for this event.

  • As you can see this James is talented. No doubt he's going to get far in swimming. BUT if US has to maintain their domination at this event, Michael (as the first leg) has to WORK double/ triple to top that split of 47.49. Another option is to have another person- preferably a GOOD sprinter- to do the first leg who can top that 47.49 split. If there's any event the US has to prepare for, it's this 4x100 free relay. They absolutely cannot relax on this event.

  • well boys.. time to hit the pool and train your balls off. lets go usa!

  • @dschatz8642 the aussies still have thorpe up there sleves, so wait for the aussie to smash the americans again

  • @TheEmzii101 You haven't seen Thorpe swim lately... Also, he was never the strongest at the 100m distance. He never broke 48 or went 48 low - he's going to have to, to make the Aussie team now.

This is going to be an extremely competitive event at the Olympics - Australia, France, USA, Russia.

  • BRING OUT JASON LEZAK GODDDDAMMITTTT!

  • @karlosalonga Jason might have a hard time making the team in 2012. He'll be going on 37 yo.

  • @c0rbination yea i agree with likac. you seem to have forgotten that all these guys were recently wearing full body suits at beijing. now they're wearing the shorts. and with some guys, no suit seems to have had a big impact on them. like look at eamon sullivan! he was really prominent in 2008 as like an up and coming and now he's like sunk into the big mish mash of sprinters after the suits are gone. same with biedermann. so they have every reason to be slower

  • Brasil vai ganha na olimpiada!!

  • All the Australians swim with their arms straight.

  • Yep, that was Phelps textile best...I know he is in moderate shape...It was a good time for him...I hope he can get his head together before next year...don't think the American are gonna get this back in London. They will have to be 3:10 just to medal.

  • Damn that was a really shity race for the U.S team..shit happens. wait for the rape from USA in london motherfuckers!

  • Race starts at 3:35

  • pero ahora gano australia

  • siempre gana estados unidos

  • @n6885667

WTF is wrong with you? can you not read? look at the title dumbass and stop smoking

  • Australia didn't pinch it from the French ..... they led the race from start to finish!

  • USA will pull it together come London! go USA!

  • Aussies have crocs and sharks, of coures they swim fast

  • I've never been so happy to see America lose. GO AUSSIE

  • Australia should win!!

  • Sullivan almost blew it......anyhow, what a start for Australia! amazing first 100

  • oh USA... smh. except for adrian they did NOT live up to expectations... even though im american they should have talked less about us... proud of the aussies, couldnt bear for a french win in this one.

  • @swimmerM3 could agree more, Americans can be a little cocky but wrightly so since theyve won 11 out of 14

4x100, having the French win!!? now that would be unbearable.

  • @swimmerM3 Phelps swam his textile best, 48.08 I think. You cannot say he didn't live up to expectations. Lezak and GWG should have done a better job though.

  • @likac92009 wrong about Phelps best. at the 2008 olympics he led off with a 47.5 so this was not his best. Weber-Gale had gone a 47 in the olympics too and went a 48 in this... Lezak split a 46 in '08 and this was a 48. Adrian was the only one who actually did good. No offense to Lezak but he is just getting old and I think we may have been better off with Lochte on it.

  • @c0rbination Well, I did say it was his textile best. 47.5 was done with Speedo LZR.

  • @c0rbination if u look at the splits phelps went th fastest split for the US and he had a flat start. he gave them second place which they couldnt hold. obviously all th times u gave from th olympics were faster cuz they had th super suits back then. to be honest adrian was a little disappointing seeing as he is th future of american sprinting and he went slower to an aging phelps who didnt even get a relay start. and lochte prolly wouldnt have helped cuz hes slower than all of them in th 100

  • @c0rbination 47.51 in 2008 suits is equivalent to 48 in today's suits. Michael will be faster next year - 47.7 I'm guessing.

  • @c0rbination I will have to disagree. Lezak may be getting "older" but the man is still one of the best. He just had a bad race, everyone has those days, sometimes they just end up being on the days of big races, lord knows ive had days where i swam faster in practice than i did in the actual meet. But also, lochte is definitely a phenomenal swimmer, no doubt about it, but im pretty sure we would be just fine using either lezak or lochte. But Adrian did have one hell of a race here.

  • @likac92009

lezak is 36 years old, he does superhuman things for 8 years now, what do you expect from a swim-grandpa?

  • @AgentPaulSmecker I'm aware of everything Lezak has done for USA relays, but unfortunately, previous achievements means little in that particular moment when he (and everyone else) has to live up to the expectations and provide a fast time if he wants to win.

  • @likac92009

thats what i was trying to explain, that expectations are perhaps too high from time to time. the fact that he still is world class at 36 is already more one can expect, at least from my point of view:-) by the way, if you expect nothing, then a little outcome already makes happy!

  • @AgentPaulSmecker Well, more power to Lezak for being competitive at 36, but the fact he's still in USA relay tells something about that relay and why they won bronze in Shanghai. USA need to improve if they want gold in London. They need two more reliable swimmers to swim with Phelps and Adrian.

  • @likac92009

thats right. they dont have a specialized 100 free swimmer, at least no one of which i know of. never either saw phelps swim 100 free in big events, nor lochte. i still cant believe that lezak swam 46s with 33 years old, because the mans body starts to degrade at age 25. i didnt know his age until a few days ago when i saw this beijing relay. i think on this day in london they will be at their best and make the losses forgotten.

  • @swimmerM3 it's no problem.. it's just the 'worlds' we'll have a stronger team put together and definitely ready for when it counts.. LONDON BABY!! our boys show up when it counts.. THE OLYMPICS... everything else is just a warm up :)

  • @swimmerM3 I love team USA, Its a fact that we dominate the medal count at every Olympics, but since the bodysuits have been banned, you can see that sprinting is a little weak right now. I feel that Lezak should be replaced by Lochte; he split a 47.9 unrested at the Pan Pacs for the 400 free relay there. The best team for 2012 should be Phelps, Lochte, Adrian, and GWG.

  • Worst swimming commentary ever. Didn't even know what events swimmers were in.

  • @n6885667 oh there's worse- checkout the NBC coverage... all they do is talk about phelps through the whole race... except to mention how the aussie's can't win.

  • James Magnuson fag, I bet he doped hardcore.

  • @luanswan2002 Coming into the worlds, he had the fastest 100m in the world this year. You shouldnt be suprised by this performance..

  • @luanswan2002 DOPED!? haha fukin South Africa cant win shit . if any one dopes it you kaffas

  • @luanswan2002 he has the fastest time in the world..i think your the one that is doped up

  • @luanswan2002 i bet you dont even know him and you dont know how hard he has worked for this

  • Yeah cheers mate, I missed it this morning unfortunately.

  • Thanks for the upload.

  • @wasdom01 You're welcome.
