Thanks for you comments arhys79 and nickysaxpiccolo. I switched to open gis because I liked the balance by having an extra finger stabilize the flute. I also have easier high E's and A's. Best thing...no one dares borrow my flutes:-) I can still play closed gis like I used to after a few minutes of scales and arpeggios.
