Philips have produced a technology called Lumilive, Google it. This is basically a flexible pcb containing an array of LEDs and woven in to a material. It has been used in a sofa, but not this one, as the Lumilve is full RGB producing animation and text

is that fiber optics fabrics or something? i wanna disecct that couch and find out what makes it work. I think it would be fiber optics cuz it would heat less and would be as much of a fire hazzard as an LED. o and BlueEmbers, it's light edmitting diode not emotion.

You meant to write Light Emitting Diodes, but actually what you are referring to are called OLEDs (Organic Light Emitting Diodes).

wow! *sarcastic* the have a special fabric with light emition diodes that you can program into any design or pattern. they've been used in many ways. even a couch that tells you what time it is.
