I was given a '78 Hobie 16 with extras and got her in the water after refinishing the hulls and painting. She has the same sails as yours. I found chart on the Hobie site that lists all the sails by year and the names of them. Yours (and mine) are called "Flamer". Good Sailing from Texas.

Try and get the toe in fixed before you take it out in high winds. I had my rudders on backwards once when I was new to the boat, so one would point out when the other was straight. I learned my lesson just minutes after go out, when one of the rudders broke at the waterline from all the force.
