oh paul...especially today, i miss u oh so very much! nothing special..regular day. just thought bout u, turned this on and remem watching it live from backstage...RIP my friend..love u!
Pauls voice was stunning, soulful and stirred the heart. This song forever remains as one of my all time favorite love songs. This song captures the essence of love and a broken heart. RIP Paul, your music lives on....
@conmaesta · I'd like to see/hear that one, too. Meantime, you can hear 'Down to My Last Teardrop' at Macjams.com. Put '42012' in the Search Box or 'Last Teardrop'. Paul himself uploaded it 2 days before his death. Paul went by 'Droop' on Macjams. Only a few knew who he was. You can also find some of his other compositions there.
OMG, What happened? I did not know he had passed away. I watch the news on a regular, why was this not reported and Anna Nichole Smith gets 6 months of coverage? Amazing, this man actually made a contribution to american culture!
Paul died of a heart attack just one day after his 60th birthday in April of 2008. There is a great fan site on yahoo groups called The Paul Davis David Myster Group where he posted once in while. He also posted some new music on the site (2 demos) and on the MacJams website under the name artist name "Droop". Check them out. The one called "Today" is my favorite.
This beautiful song, I remember very well. I was 14 years old at its release and had an enormous crush on a quite female classmate at the time. All this time later, even now, while previewing Paul's song on YouTube, I still see her lovely and unique grace all over again. The song deals with the issues of finding love and losing love. And the sensations of making the transition beyond the love that was once yours. Now that, is always a challenging thing.
When you listen to Pauls music, you have to wonder if he didnt die from a broken heart. Much of his music is sad and seems to come from his heart. It hits home for me. Arnt we all kinda living in the past. His music had real life stories.
Bullocks to the mainstream media for not letting us know. I am shocked. Did he have health insurance, EBT heart scan? Our nation is loosing one by one great artists like Paul. And where were our radio announcers? Corporate formatted radio forgot him -- we didn't. RIP
Yes you are correct there was nothing mentioned regarding his passing in the media, only the internet had it. Too bad, that talent gone without a mention.
This is my favorite pop song of all time, but this country version is exquisite. This should be picked up for distribution by a country label and released in his memory.
Rest in Peace. You were a true talent that will live on for generations to go. Your writing and beautifully crisp, clean vocals are almost unheard of these days! God Bless, Man!
Love this song
