The combat looks good enough on the offensive side but this game sorely needs a counter move or blocking because just like in the original, all these enemies seem to rush you and given the circumstances of how hard this game is... well, you get the point.

@ThePaulnessable You can block and the game has an excellent countering system. The guy playing this is using the same combos over and over again, barely showing what the game is truly capable of. One thing that's great about this game is that most weapons have cool 'execution' abilities- for example, if you press 'grapple' and 'heavy attack' while using the shotgun near an enemy, you can pump the enemy in the stomach and blast them 50 feet into the air- insta-kill!

Ahhh good old Mike Haggar! I was a kid back in the 80s... but this game was... awesome... I remember playing this game with my best buddy.. good times...

He always prefered the agile charakters like Guy / Maki / Cody / Carlos, while I always took the brute... good times.. Mike Haggar > all :)

*head down* Back when I was in grade school, Final Fight was always part of my after school routine. I always played that first thing on the SNES when I got home. Just Piledriving thugs left n right...man that was some fun.

Years went by, and I was left wondering, "where's final fight?"

Then, it came. A new final fight game was out! I was rejoicing. I pop it into my then new PS2 and...my hopes were shattered. This was not the Final Fight I remember back when I was in 2nd grade!

It started in the Arcades, then got ported to just about every fucking console and home PC that existed (worst examples include Amiga and SNES). They didn't land a good and proper port until the PSN last year. FF2 and 3 were SNES exclusive for unexplained reasons, then FF Revenge on Saturn was a disastrously disgraceful tournament fighter. Then came Streetwise, which put the final nail in the coffin for Final Fight. The franchise killer.

I had this game and once you play thru it, it becomes decent. Alot of people diss this game without even playing it. Its actually pretty decent. Minus the arcade mode when you beat it. Plus it has the original final fight game on it. You have to beat the game to unlock it and 3 music videos.

@mradw2008 The Single Player isn't even Final Fight at all, and there some points that it is bad, read the Reviews. I'd rather just take on the Arcade Mode, it's like the Original Final Fight.

Speaking of that, you don't have to beat the game to unlock it. You have to do a "Scene", then you unlock it. But, it's a bad version. Final Fight Double Impact is the Answer for a good Original.

I agree. Story wise the game was great and so was the voice acting. Gameplay was solid and smooth the onlt problem was that they should have just added more characters and more gameplay modes (as well as difficulty). When I found out Final fight was ported to PS2 and X0Box I knew it wasn't going to be the same. I didn't expect much but from what I got from all great story telling and retro stuff they put in, personally, for a final fight fan like myself,I was pretty pleased after I beat the game

Yeah, I'll admit that game is pretty damn hard. I usually beat most of the guys in the game by watching their moves and attacking accordingly. Oh, ALWAYS keep some kind of weapon equipped. Just bash Eugene with a pipe or board over and over again that usually works. Thanks for your reply!
