LOL! Yes, The Climb is pretty awful, but so is Killing In The Name. In my opinion, it's very contradicting to the campaign. That doesn't mean I'll dislike anything they'll put out (the same goes for Joe). It just means I don't care for this song and I don't care for The Climb. Why is it such a big deal?
Killing in the Name isn't awful, really there is no awful dong because it's down to opinion, but, when a song is unoriginal or bland then it is awful and that described The Climb pretty well. And it's a big deal ebcause no-one wants to see another X-Factor winner get Crimbo number 1 next year or any other year for that matter.

I listen to all types of music and evaluate each by the individual song's quality. Just because the song has a "political" message doesn't automatically make it a good song. The Climb has an inpirational message, but that's one of the worst kind of songs to listen to, along with Killing In The Name. You just assume I eat whatever the mainstream wants me to eat because just dislike the song...

LOL! Yes, The Climb is pretty awful, but so is Killing In The Name. In my opinion, it's very contradicting to the campaign. That doesn't mean I'll dislike anything they'll put out (the same goes for Joe). It just means I don't care for this song and I don't care for The Climb. Why is it such a big deal?

Killing in the Name isn't awful, really there is no awful dong because it's down to opinion, but, when a song is unoriginal or bland then it is awful and that described The Climb pretty well. And it's a big deal ebcause no-one wants to see another X-Factor winner get Crimbo number 1 next year or any other year for that matter.

No offense, but either way, I think some people have too much time on their hands to even care about this stuff. For instances, I thought the guy who started this campaign was a teenager or young adult who wanted to rebel. Come to find out, It was a middle-aged grown man! After listening to "Killing in The Name", I have to say that the song is not to my musical taste, and I do not like it.
It appeals to some, and I admit that, just like Joe Mcelderry's voice appeals to some people, appeals to me. And that does not mean that I have a "shit" taste in music.

Look. If "Rage Against the Machine"'s song was really that good then it would have gotten a number one slot back when it was released. FIFTEEN YEARS AGO. Joe Mcelderry deserved that number one, his voice is far better and he has talent.
But some mean-spirited people decided to ruin his dream because they did not like the fact that Simon Cowell is successful and people LIKE THE XFACTOR SINGLES. Plus many of the sales for RATM were sold in bulk, which shows that the fans are really sad.

PurpleJanuary alot of people didn't buy the song because they love RATM, that wasn't the point.
The whole point of the campaign is that Killing is the name was written by the band to convey a real meaning. What the half a million people were trying to say is that we've had enough of this fake, focus group picked, crap.
It wasn't targeted particularly at joe or simon. It just so happened that they had to take a fall for the campaign to succed. Briatin just chose now to wake up.
